Sorry guys, I couldn't make it. Some family stuff came up, on account of it being thanks giving. I was looking forward to trading some bumper paint on the straights. Did it rain at all?
Unlucky fella. Shame we couldn't do a straight swap!
I started watching a bug crawl across the wall after 5 laps.
?
Did you get separated from the pack?
Watching now. It's lap 21 and the battle for first is INTENSE! It's wet and the top three are each about two seconds apart, each with different tire combinations. Nepalli is in first with rain tires. Aderrrm is in second with intermediates. Mule is in third with intermediates on the front and rain on the rear. It's not raining and the sun is coming up. The course could dry up in a few laps. Tire strategy may decide this one.
Lap 22:
Nepalli is coming up on lap traffic (JDC08). Will it slow him down?
Lap 23:
JDC08 Makes room at the start/finish line for Nepalii and lets him by. Well done by both drivers. This is going to work to Aderrms's advantage as thy approach the first straight. Adderrrm may catch JDC08's draft. And aderrrm has done it. On first straight he slingshots past JDC08 and is now on Nepalii's bumber at the end of the second straight. Aderrrm has mad the pass on Nepalii on the third straight. Are his intermediate tires starting to show an advantage? Based on tire wear this seems to be the case. There last pits were close together yet Aderrm's tires are holderng up much better.
Lap 24:
The two are swapping positions down the two front straights. Nep's tires are already down to about 60%, and Aderrrm's are still at 85%. Mule is still about three seconds behind JDC08, who separates him from the two leaders. Mule's front tires are still holding up well. Will he catch Nep?
Lap 25:
Nep must have had an incident because he has fallen WAY back from Aderrrm, about five seconds. The cars aren't spraying much water up anymore so Nep is really struggling with his rain tires on front and back. Mule has passed JDC and is about four seconds behind Nep. The gap is closing! Mule has closed the gap completely approaching the finish line. And he dives up the inside in the third last corner! There is contact, but both cars make it through ok.
Lap 26:
Aderrrm's gap is at least 15 seconds on Mule. Mule has pulled away from Nep slightly. Nep is out of draft range. but JDC who is a lap down is battling with Nep. This is not going to help Nep, whose tires are at about 33%. Mule's tires are at about 60% and his lead on Nep is widening.
Lap 27:
Nep is really struggling with his tires at 25%. He has three more laps to go on his rain ties and the course looks almost completely dry. Mule's fuel is looking a bit low (1/8 of a tank left). Aderrrm's lead is about 20 sec. It doesn't look like he will catch him in the closing laps.
Wardez is in 4th, about 60 sec down from Nep, but Ward is on intermediates that are in good shape. Oh no! Wardez crashes on a straight into the guardrail.
Lap 28:
Nep's tires are competely gone. He has to pit. They were at 10% at best. This is Wardez's chance. Nep amy go for racing tires. Yes he has. Racing hard tires. Nep comes out of the pits side by side with Wardez. This is bad news for Wardez whose intermediates are at 55%. These two are battling for 3rd. 1st and 2nd place are more or less settled.
Last lap:
Wardez can't keep up on his worn intermediate tires and Nep has a 3 second lead going into the first straight.
