No practice for a 2hr endure will make for one lonely ride, that's for sure.
:P

Yeah, I can confirm this, from lap 4 to about 22 I was all by myself. :P Had some fun with the leaders at the end though, tried to stay out of it at first but then their tyres dropped off so I had a go at Nepalli first and then Mule. Sadly my fronts ran out of rubber in the last lap though, so I was lapped by Mule again haha. Good fun though.

(I got 3rd in the 430 race at Grand valley, paul!)

But man, that was intense. It literally rained all throughout the night, and stopped just before sunrise.

Nepalii, Wardez and myself broke away from everyone else at the start, and it stayed that way until lap 9 when we all pitted. Wardez said he took Inters, while I took full Rain tires. Nepalii took no fuel, so he was able pull a 15 second gap on us. I was out of Wardez's draft on account of me coming in right behind him. aderrm had caught up to us by then as well.

I stuck to my strategy, and was able to make the tires last for a 2-stopped, while Wardez and Aderrrm both pitted on lap 15 or so. By lap 18 my tires were done, Aderrm had passed me, and I ran into the wall at Arnage, so I pit again. Decided to take a gamble, figuring the track would dry up and took Inters. Only I forgot to put Inters on the rear, so they were still Rain tires (oops). I took 2 litres of fuel then as well, just to be safe. I came out behind GV27, who I passed later that lap. Passed Wardez as he pit again, then the hunt was on. I stayed about 10-12 seconds behind the Nepalii/Aderrrm battle, which is pretty good, considering this is Aderrrm we're talking about.

Nepalii had fried his tires, so I passed him easily. My focus after that was saving fuel, as I was quite low. Luckily JDC passed me again, so I was able to used his draf to save fuel. If this didn't happen, I'd have been out for sure.

Easily the most intense race I've been in so far.

UNOFFICIAL RESULTS.

Congrats to Aderrm for beating us all again. For winning, he recieves a Car from the NCD woth up to 500,000 credits!

Probably one of the best races I have had so far. Clean, fast, crazy. Just the fact of having to gamble on tires and fuel make this race one of the most fun I have had. When I put rain tires on my 2nd stop, and Im catching up to everyone really quick, I thought I could have won.

The rain went throughout the night, and I was praying it would stay as I was at a great pace on my rain tires while my direct competitors were on intermediate. Too bad it didnt happen, the track was drying up, and I was slowing down lol. Aderrm and Mule just got away from me(congrats to both of you, great pace and strategy as well.) My tires were completely shot at Lap 27, so I risked it going to the pits and put on slicks. Luckily, it worked as I came out right along with Wardez, who was on interm. and had them worn out so I was able to pull away and claim a satisfying 3rd place.

I would like to thank Wardez and Mule for the excellent work on the drafting, we were pulling away from everyone else. Also, I would like to thank JDC. He was perfect. Smart and clean. I actually was gaining time with his draft and at the turns he was letting me by. Well done man.

Im not good at race reports, so im leaving it like this. Thanks guys, amazing racing today!! :)

I'm not a big fan of giving up but after 24 laps, getting stuck with intermediate tires instead of the racing hard I'd already been using (and keeping ground) that was just it, I would have to have run the entire race differently to have a chance.
I'm really surprised to see not everyone went back to racing hard, had more grip by lap 24, certainly would have been a bigger advantage through the finish.

Even when I caught and passed people, they always crashed while I was out of draft, the only positive draft I benefited from was off the start when I caught Aderrrm's on Mulsanne, screwed that up myself entering porsche esses though.

BTW, what happened at the start? All I know is it felt like I was hit by something going 100mph faster then me.

Nothing hit you CSL, actually you just looked like you spun and crashed into Aderrrm. You were like sliding and jumping and then BAM you hit Aderrrm. You almost hit me as well, but I was quick.

i meant in integras mule ;)

Other then the start I didn't see any type of lag, everything seemed solid as a rock from my view.
But after the first lap I knew I had to fly to catch anybody, raced the next 24 laps entirely to impatiently, as I see now with care I could have easily been towards the front, just couldn't stop losing 3-10 seconds here and there all race, tried to stick it out till the end for sportsmanship, but missing GT5's lovely switch back to intermediate or rain tires on my final stop was more then I could take, I hate quitting, sorry guys.

Yeah so after the strange crash at the start, I decided to wait up for CSL so we could get back to the pack. CSL crashed somewhere along the lines, and I overtook a few people on the first 2 laps. I stayed with GV from then on after quite a few laps, but on the straights he would only bump draft me once, or sometimes would just stay behind me. So after a few laps I decided I'm not going to tow him along and broke free.

Until the pit stop on lap 9, I would make time on Wardez, Mule and Nep in the corners but would lose it again on the straights. I clawed back quite a few seconds on lap 9 as the rain fell a bit harder. I put in like 17 litres of fuel and inters. Managed to catch up to Mule, and we were trying to catch up to Wardez who was flying on inters. For some reason I forget that it's more grippy off line, especially into the braking zones so I only clicked on once I was close if not past Wardez. I pitted 3 or 4 laps later because the rain wasn't stopping, and switched to full wets. Seriously thought I wouldn't be able to catch up to Mule or Wardez again (like 12 seconds up the road) or Nep (43 seconds).

Stayed on full wets for quite a while but should have stayed on them a bit longer than I did. Switched to inters on lap 20 I think and found it hard to keep it in the corners. I spun off at Mulsanne corner and Nep took the lead, gaining a 6 seconds advantage. As his tyres lost grip and it came into inter teritory, I overtook him and started to pull away from Mule who was now 2nd.

I could have made it to the end of inters, but didn't know if my fuel would run out. Because I had a 30 second lead on Mule, I decided to pit for a splash and dash. Put inters on because I don't like playing risks with GT5's weather system and they were nearly as good as hards after a few corners.

Really didn't think I would win this one, especially after the first corner crash, thought you lot would just pull away in the draft. I guess tyres was the key here.

Off to uni now, cheers. :)👍

Yeah, CSL, the replay definitely looks like you got spun out by a ghost. 👎

I was afraid too much bumping would bother you, mate!! Hope you're not judging me too harshly.

Dont be afraid of bumping GV, as long as you give the other drivers space at the turns. You should have seen me, Wardez and Mule. Our cars were all messed up from so much bumping!! LOOL

Oh no definitely not, no problem. I don't mind that much if people bump drafting me if we're trying to catch up to a group, but if I'm behind someone I will always choose to draft and pass them and they can do what ever they want then from behind. Seeing as you weren't bumping me that much, and weren't overtaking me so that I could draft you back, I hope you can see from my point of view that I wasn't going to keep you behind me if you weren't benefiting me, as in the corners towards the last part of the lap you would only stay close to me because of the slipstream.

A bit harsh putting it like that but you know I thought I would seriously be battling for position with you for the rest of the race, especially when the rain started and especially when I would close up to the lead pack in the corners, but lose it again in the straights because they were slipstreaming each other.

EDIT: for my car Mule I'll have a Nissan GT-R Proto please. Cheers!

moving on to Tsukuba i put around 10laps in and with some minor tweaks i got down to a 57.9 (but i dunno if thats is any good) just saying this to give others something to aim at :)

Of course, Aderrrm, that makes so much sense. I just wanted to make sure there were no hard feelings! :)

At least, now I know I can bumb a bit more, and it'll be fine. As a rookie, I learn something new every time I race, which is fantastic.

no one else got times to share?? :( (as i said i did a 57.9 in my first test...)

I prefer passing as well, bump drafting loses speed through transfer to the car in front, testing in practice with Welsh and others in the Z06's it was clearly quicker (to me) then bump drafting.

I suspected you waited for me after the start, I appreciate it 👍 Shame I threw it away so quickly, it seemed like we were flying before that.

And congrats on coming up with the win after such a big loss on the start.👍

I want to play! Very interested in driving in a Championship! (Go easy on me..)

I am so soo soooo soooooo! ****ing happy that the draft was fixed... seriously guys, it's a new era.

Also, I say we change Nurb to Spa, just 'cause... it's SPA!

I would say no Spa since it would be forcing participants to buy it but... without wanting to be repetitive... it's SPA!

Is it really fixed?! I saw there was a Strong or Weak option but never got the chance to test it out. If its true, I just feel reborn! :) lol

I'll add a poll on whether to change Nurb to Spa or not.

**** year Spa!!!

My testing with Welsh leads me to believe "strong" and "weak" are pretty close together. :(
But it's a slight improvement.

BTW I voted, and it's 6/0 now, looks like it's time to hit the Spa.

So, its still unrealistic! :nervous: OMG just charge us or something to fix the draft, but at least fix it for god's sake! On the other hand cant wait for DLC, im buying that as soon as its out. Should I buy a PSN card or credit card? After the PSN outage, Im a little scared putting my credit card on PSN. :scared:
