And with only one week, little chance for you to finish in time, too, altough it would have been awesome as all hell. you'd be better off having that project as a long-time runner and grabbing another one to compete in Lamley's contest.

As long as the finish is pretty or the idea is unusual, you'll make top 10 pretty easily imo. I know it's not about winning, but getting mentioned is what makes it special.

That said, you'll probably want to get detailing in there. That shouldn't take more than 3 hours and it will greatly boost the craftsmanship appeal.

So while I'm on the search to find usable sources for my essay on custom cars, I found these customs being mentioned in a Japanese Hot Rod Customs show.

Cool key organiser, AOS. That is kind of what i was thinking when you mentioned keys a few pages back, when i guessed 'key fob', i was thinking maybe keys that were mounted to a solid spindle, that would fold out from underneath the car (no chassis), with the rear wheels being the pivot point/spindle. Your solution is real cool though. 👍

Sooooo the tampos for the M3 are done. This car, while also an entry to the Lamley contest, will be my first ever experiment with carbon fiber tampos. I have to develop a way to produce convincing carbon fiber. Tailights and license plates were also produced.

By saturday both mine and Ahmed's cars will get painted. Hopefully we can make the sunday deadline.

Found on my YT home page. Been posted before?

Also, took a look at the clear coating. I did get impatient. Some of the detail bled from the strength of the acrylic. will have to touch it up with paint. But damn think I like seeing a glossy zamac over bare zamac now. It feels so smooth... and somewhat soft.

And soooo I'm supposed to print the tampos for the M3 today, but I have a problem: I didn't bring the car to measure if the sizes of the tampos are ok. I'll try to buy another one so I can do it, but if not, I'll just have to print them "blindly".

:dopey:

ahaha I will print my tampos today I have them In my USB right now, Its my first time working with custom tampos, so many work to do, so little time....

I just tried to do a "sneak peek" photo of something on the car but my camera sucks and it turned out like crap so I ditched that idea...

Can't wait to see all the finished products guys:tup:

Finished my first full custom over the weekend, thought I'd try a M3 as alot of you were doing one for the Lamley contest, and I really wanted to change the colour:)

Here's the body stripped and I'd already fitted the new wheels, you can see here I did drill a bit far when removing the rivot and the bit grabbed and made a big hole in the base. Going to need a bit more practice doing that:lol:

Here's everything sat back on to see how the wheels look

and here's the final product, I do need to get myself some smaller brushes for the finer detailing and learn a few more things like lowering and stuff but will definately be trying again:dopey:

Clean car Zakyta! I like the very dark blue :0

AOS, your thing looks cool opened and with the keys, lol. Certainly interesting.

Assembly of mine will take place this afternoon. I still don't want to manipulate it much.

Just got my decals done for the taillights, & rear emblems. Came out quite good despite the crappy resolution I have to work with. :D

Edit: Well you can really see the crappy resolution in the decals in photos. Oh well. (and yes, I know the right tail light is lower than the left....too late to fix)

Funny how a car can look great in person and then you see all the imperfections in photos. :indiff:

Satisfied with how it came out, but not 100% happy. Oh well, didn't do this expecting to win.
