Hi guys. I haven't logged in for over a year.. Almost 2 years. My last login was April of 2013. If anybody remembers, I did the black 1999 Stock Car with the number 7, the Black '69 Trans Am, and I did an Olds Aurora:

I haven't had too many projects lately, but I have started sanding down an Austin Martin One-77, I am in the middle of shaping the body into a "Fiberglass" race car look. The car started off white, but now its sanded and its the alloy color. There are still spots I need to work on though. Ill try to get pictures of it soon

budget_crx, I just seen your Supra project, I really like the idea!

Also, I just took a couple of pictures of one of the small projects I have done in the last 2 years. This is my Thunderbolt project. These are the 1997 series cars. I have had the burgundy Thunderbolt since I was 3, in 97, and I got the black one last year, to show how the cars originally looked. I did an exhaust job on the burgundy, and I removed most of the decals. I also painted the vents on the tear-drop hoodscoop, and the door handles, and hood pins silver.

Here is the Black Thunderbolt, looking how it did right out of the package.

And here is the Burgundy Thunderbolt, after I did the decal removal, added the exhaust, and did the silver touch ups.

This is the underneath, showing the custom exhaust. I made this from the tube inside of a pen, and silver painted toothpicks. The narrow part of the exhaust is the toothpick I cut in half, then cut the sharp tips off of. The exhaust tips are the pen ink-tube, which I painted silver.

Im sorry for the links, I tried to use the image button, and paste the link in there, but the images did not pop up, so I just pasted the links.

I see. A picture post without text isn't much help anymore these days.

Thought you could've done something subtle there.

lolwut. Did you see the pics? Not even the wheels of that thing are savageable  it's totally wasted.

How on earth does a hub become detached from the tyre? (always thought they were one-piece) Looking forward to see what you do with that awesome MBX classic. đź‘Ť

I was also indeed surprised when I saw how the tires broke, had never seen something like that.

I've got a few of the old MBs with the same wheels that have broken that same way. I think there just a thinner ring of plastic there where the tire and hub joins due to the mold process...

I finally gave up on that shoebox of slot car decals, I only found 2 sheets of the whole box that where any good, and they arent anything more than racing numbers...

Later or tomorrow I can get the pictures of the Aston Martin I promised you guys! Its about halfway done right now. I will also show you my other projects, I detailed a matchbox United Alliance Jeep (Which, believe it or not, I found hiking in the woods last summer), a F&F Toyota Supra that I detailed the head and tail lamps, and a HW Edition Chevy Camaro, which I detailed the head and tail lamps, and the Chevy bow-tie logos.

My next bigger project is to take one of my F&F Supras, and remove the targa top, and repaint either black or white, and obviously detail the head and tail lamps. I do want to find some way to make an intercooler and remove the "mesh" from the front bumper. I also plan on detailing all of the interiors on my customs.

"What point is there posting a grab with no text to give context (of your intended direction) in a thread made to share already-modified cars?" is basically what I've been struggling to get you to pick up.

Anyway, have you got any ideas for it?

He's going to put it into his project box and leave it there for an undefined amount of time.

I'd do the same thing

Hello, everybody

I haven't been an active member since 2012, but I have been lurking since, and I have been drawn to this thread a lot lately and have been inspired to make a few of my own customs.

I have only done a few customs that I would like to show off now.

My first custom done a few years back is a BMW M3 GTS, which I unfortunately do not have any pictures of. If anyone would like to see it, let me know, I'll break it out of my display case.

Only the second custom I did this past month is an '83 Chevy Silverado, which I turned into a rusty mess. Here it is, pictured next to a stock one.

Next up is a Thunderbird I've had lying around for years now that I decided to finally change it to something less ugly. The paint turned out ok-ish, but it still looks brilliant.

After

There is a store by my house where I pick up damaged hot wheels for 25 cents and restore or modify them. There I found my next few projects. Up first is a bit of a rarity in terms of diecasts. I can't even find this model on eBay. It says BMW Turbo Made in Hong Kong on the chassis. Being a BMW enthusiast, I had to rescue this sad, sad, model.

After my Restomod. It looks fantastic. I'll even post several pics of the process since I am so proud of this one.

Hello, everybody
Please reduce the size of your photos or attached them as thumbnails instead. I have fast internet at work, and they loaded near 56k speed. Just because the forum resizes them, doesn't make it ok to attach anything larger than 1200px wide. :)

This thing is cool, never seen that casting before. The outcome is pretty good too, the wheels fit it well. Detail your cars a little and off we go.

Also, new post at Custom Diecast MĂ©xico, the winner of our clunker contest:

I did the intercooler idea on my Falken supra. Get a rotary tool with a cut off wheel and some needle files, I found some great files at a craft store in the bead and jewerly making section. To gut the mesh pert of the Supra's grille I used the cut off wheel and made a cut just big enough that it cut all the way through the metal then finished shaping it with files, it took awhile but was very accurate with the shaping. As far as an intercooler, I used one from the Hot Wheels 350z just like the one below. It was a PAIN but fits perfect! There are some other cars that have plastic intercoolers that may be easier to work with but I can't think of what they are called.

A bunch of stapples glued on the back, with a couple of aluminum paper ribs for the corners. Magic.

@TopGearJB007 Love how you've done those wheels on the BMW. đź‘Ť I think i might have to give that a try myself.

Thanks!

I wanted to keep it kinda the way it was, it was very 70's. That's why I didn't add details other than painting the bumpers surrounding the grilles. Thanks for the compliment though!

I was thinking a plastic intercooler.

I figured out a way to get the photos to work here!
But first, I wanna show off some of my other small projects. These ones I am most proud of! Also, I have the pictures I promised of the Aston Martin!

First Ill show you the detailing I did on the body of a F&F Supra.

11004772_1051347984882143_1113022540_n.jpg

If you notice, I detailed the exhaust, spoiler, tail lights, and I painted the license plate

11005569_1051347981548810_1008757893_n.jpg

I also painted the head lights and vent.

Next I would like to show my detailing on this HW Edition Camaro

11004695_1051348034882138_427142644_n.jpg

I did the head and fog lights, and the Chevy bowtie logo.

Here is the roof of the MBX United Alliance Jeep I found while hiking, I detailed the racks contents.

And, last but not least, here is the Aston Martin One-77 Racer
11016335_1051348054882136_2088855066_n.jpg

If you notice, Im sanding the head lights off, Im shortening the vents on the hood, and doors.

11005558_1051348071548801_1032955152_n.jpg

Here, you can see the work I have been doing to get rid of the door handle. Also, I sanded the faces of the tires, to give them the racing slicks sidewall look.

10994705_1051348078215467_866953901_n.jpg

This shows the work I completed to sand away the tail lights, and the vents behind the rear tires.

11004428_1051348084882133_1518908246_n.jpg

And lastly, this photo shows the work I need to do. I just got the paint removed from this side.
