My Thrustmaster rocks! It goes to 90', sounds sucky, but my hand movements match up perfectly with the on-screen movements ^-^

My is:

GT5: Collectors Edition
22" Dick smith lcd tv
PS3 console
Wheel? Well I'm broke at the moment.

This pic should pretty much sum it up. A picture can save me typing a thousand words.

See you November 2nd

Nice setup mate. I think I'll be having a similar setup as yours. Happy racing!

Best to get it together soon. Shipping to Canada takes quite a while for the Playseat (consider smoketronics.com, they ship to Canada for relatively cheap) and you'll probably have to settle for a G27 (with the ridiculous premium in Canada) but I have a feeling many hands will be grabbing for these wheels - most will probably go for the Driving Force GT.

Also November is getting close to Xmas time, so shipping will be that much slower.

Alright, thanks for the suggestion. I'll go check out the site and hopefully be able to snag a g27 wheel. ATM I have the Driving Force GT. So if I'm not able to get the G27 I'll just stick with my GT. 👍

playseat (solberg edition) + g25 + logitech z 5500 surround system +sony bravia 40v4000 full hd tv. i just cant wait for november 3 :)

I have a low end Logitech wheel - really need a stick. So I'll use a DS3 and the wheel for messing around on split screen. On a 50" HDTV with surround sound

Just Brought a Sony HD Projector. Had a G25 for 2 years now anticipating GT5's release. Also got some Senheisser headphones. November can't come soon enough.

I'll playing with a Logitech GT Driving Force Wheel.I'll be amazed with the picture on my 50" Samsung 720p HDTV.Last but not least i'll be blown away by the sound through my 1000 watt Sony 7.1 surround home theatre system.:)

A logitech DFGT wheel, a logitech sound system with a subwoofer for that deep engine grunt and a 26-inch SONY TV (i know thats small but its still 1080i HD so its all good).;)

I have never been one to have the greatest sound system. Is there a beneficial differance in having such a sound system?

I alwas thought sound period is enough the way games are designed.

Surround sound on a FPS might be an exception as you can auditorily process enemy positions if the directional ques aren't sufficient.

That and I really don't need to hear that guy behind me in a movie. Sound has just never added anything to my experience except for footsteps in Counterstrike which wasn't even surround. Engine sound and tire squeal does the job.

If I could hear each wheel individually etc then perhaps I might look in to it.

I don't have a wheel as of right now...I had one and could not get the hang of it...I don't do too bad with mt controller though. As for my TV, it is a Philips 42inch 1080P 120hz...as far as sound goes, I might have to onvest in some of those Turtle Beach headsets, because my fellow DiRT2 players that have them say with the surround sound they can hear which side of you another car is on when they are trying to overtake you.

For how long did you try to get the hang of it? I can honestly say it took me about a week or two to get ok and 2-4 to preffer it.

I find having a really good surround system beneficial. One, you get to hear the cars sounds in Tru Surround sound and plus when someone(AI)drives up on you, you can tell which side they are on(or how close) by which speaker the sound comes through.

Threre aint' nothing better than a really good home theatre system.👍

You might have just sold me on one. You don't know what you like till you experience it.

👍

Just a heads up. when you go and look for one ask the person who is incharge of the electronics what he has that sounds the best.Go to different places asking the same question and listening to what you like.Next go online and look for the same thing you like.

The system i purchased would have cost me nearly 900 dollars, but after looking hard enough online i was able to get the same one for just under 600 dollars. So i saved quite a bit.

While a full surround would be very nice, you can probably get by with a modest 2.1 set-up, like something from Klipsch or Cambridge Soundworks / Creative. Some packages attempt to recreate 3D surround. You'll save some money and get better than decent sound.

Soundbars are also very impressive for the money.

I'd rather have a soundbar or 2.1 than TV speakers, but there's nothing like 1000watts of 7.1 goodness. The subwoofer alone is worth the investment.. in a home theater system- but having the PS3 connected to my Yamaha AV receiver via HDMI makes a lot of difference.

100% agree 👍
Are they? Outside of 2.1 and 5.1 set-ups I've messed with here, I'm not too familiar with the quality of sound from those.

they are far better than t.v speakers, and in the right room they can sound good as far as rear channels are concerned. but they lack proper window shaking bass !It all depends on what you compare them to, I have a Sony dav-is50 (5.1 with golf ball size speakers wireless rears+sub) runs hdmi from the ps3 and it does the job perfect for what i want but I have no doubt that bwx's system would sound Better.

At the moment with a Dualshock/Sixaxis Controller on a SD/TV.

But my Cockpit with my DFGT is almost ready. Still stays a SD/TV.

They are actually quite good.

My Father likes them so much he has two of the same system in his house(Sony).

The Subwoofer could be better, but the sound is freaky. It's pretty wild how just one speaker can make it seem you have a surround sound home theatre system.

I go over to my Dad's on Wed. and Sun. and the other day we were watching a movie on blue-ray.It got to this one part in the movie where i could have swore there was a speaker to the right side of me.Nascar races and the NFL sound great on it as well.

The thing about the Sony soundbar system is it has two sound modes 2.1 and 5.1.It will automatically switch between channels to the best sound for what you are doing. On movies and games it always stays at 5.1.

Logitech DFP GT, Sony 32" FullHD, and sound....... 4 speakers (2 from my pc and 2 from a mini stereo) in each corner of my room. i know, its a mexicanada.
