Bravo! I think you did a great job writing it, and the "story" makes you think enough to disregard the writing errors. Danoff is right about making facts from opinions, but that is a very difficult thing to avoid. I just wrote a paper about cloning and Raelians and I had a few sarcastic opinion-jokes intermixed with the facts. I thought it was hilarious, but teachers have zero sense of humor when it comes to research papers. Oh well, I'm not going to be a reporter or scientist, so I'm just going to keep on keepin' on with the funnies. I mean, when you're talking about stem cell research this joke will inevitably pop into your mind: "Helping infertile couples?! Screw that--sounds like a hell of a good time to me!" Of course the teacher is female, soo maybe she took offense to that. Not my problem.

@ultrabeat: I went to a Krispy Kream the other day and ordered my usual "half-dozen apple filled", and the chick--quite attractive I might add--said something like "We don't carry those anymore." Does that mean Krispy stopped making them? Or were they just out? If it's the former, I'm kickin' ass!

...I stil don't understand why Krispy Kremes are so incredibly popular. They are good, I guess, but they arent that good.

I'm a Dunkin Doughnuts guy, as I prefer cake doughnuts. Those are edible all the time, and don't give you the sugar rush created by the KKs.

Yeah, but they're not hot of the rollers! That's the thing about KK, if you can get them hot...forget about it! :)

Geez, Krispy Kreme was just the first corporation that came to mind...

And sorry about the pie keef. :(

Edit: Never mind. Danoff's right.
I nearly choked on my tea. Something in the universe just exploded due to this paradox, I am sure. :scared:

Oh, come on. If you were to spend a week or two going through the various threads in this forum you would find that I've agreed with danoff several times.

Look, don't get me wrong - I like the idea of Krispy Kremes. Glaze first, ask questions later, I'm not opposed to that. It's just that they can seem a little air-y, not enough substance. And the Krispy Kreme dynasty isn't all it's cracked up to be - apparently its in some trouble.

Keef - you're talking about the cinnamon donuts with the apple filling? They stopped making them?! I'm kicking some ass.

Krispy kreems are sent from heaven . Right Swift !

That's right! heh heh. Too bad they spread themselves too thin in the northeast and are closing down a lot of the shops. :(

The best is when you get to a Krispy Kreme at about 7:00 AM and the place smells like baking donuts. You can watch through the window as they make them hot and fresh. Then you buy them and they are still hot and fresh.

Yummy.

Not to take this even MORE off topic. But when they are making them, they take them off the rollers and put them in your box as you order. That's the ONLY time I would go by! :sly:

oh hell yes! i love krispy kremes...

I work about a block away from a Krispy Kreme, and just stepping outside on break you can smell those damn things. They are great to have on a Sunday morning, but thats about it, IMO. They are just too sugary (is that even a word?), and I can maybe eat three (preferably cold, I know I'm a freak) before feeling sick.

...Although there is a really good doughnuts place here in Grand Rapids, I can't recall the name, but they are the real homemade kind. I had some visiting my Grandmother's office, and they were great!

I used to eat a whole dozen original glazed--hot, of course--and man was it deilicious. But, as time went on, they started to make me feel sick. So then I downgraded to a half dozen. That plan also backfired, especially when it got to the poitn where I could only eat 4 of the six. I'd leave the other two sitting in the box in my room for about a week before I got around to tossing them out. Good air fresheners, they are. So that was when I resorted to an old favorite, the cinnamon-adorned apple-filled donut. Wowza! They were so good I about passed out. Even though they weren't 100% fresh I could eat a half-dozen and then some. I'd crave them all the time, and still do, and they never make me feel bad. I finally found the right one, and she's got apples on the inside.

That's weird, a similar thing happened to me --

I used to love donuts. Then, after having eaten donuts earlier in the day, I woke up in the middle of the night really sick, and promptly tossed my cookies. The only thing that was on my mind was those damned donuts.

Real donuts have nauseated me since, though I can still eat those gas-station Hostess things, and I have no problem with plain donuts. It's weird. :odd:

Surprisingly, we don't have that many Krispy Kreme shops around here, just the donuts in boxes in grocery stores.

OK, I don't know what happened this thread(way to take control, Swift  ). Krispy Kreme got pretty popular around here for while, but the kraze died down after few months. People were raving about those donuts so much, but I was bit dissapointed that they turned out to be just pretty good donuts. :guilty:

I've had one Krispy Kreme in my life, years ago. I was sick for three hours. I'll never touch another one.

A thread about the US has become a discussion about donuts.

:indiff:

Do they have Krispy Kreme in Europe? Or is that a US food franchise that just hasent crossed the pond yet?

I think its funny when I see American food chains in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, etc. when stuff is showed on the news. It makes me think of the hostage situation in Turkey that happened a few weeks ago at a Burger King, FUNNY!

...Then there were the pictures of a Starbucks in Dubai when the magazines got to go to the UAE for the introduction of the Cayanne Turbo S...
