I'm logging on now , I'm also on teamspeak

Erik could you clarify what's the legal way to take that chicane after the tunnel please.

Maybe if we could get some pictures just so everyone knows and sees

I have a personal best of 1 32 047 on the medium tire so far

Same as always i guess, 2 wheels on track.

About the tyre rule. For me it is all the same. I have fun on all three tires. Someone told me the cars are more even on the hard tyre, and i am PRO even cars.

One tyre or 2 tyre rules doesn't really matter for me either. Both rules has there own pro's & con's.

Has anyone here with a DFGT tried to drive without ABS? The brake pedal is made of cheese, it's impossible to not use ABS.

Well the times keep dropping at Monaco , I am now running low 1 31s , I should break into the 1 30s in a few days

Thanks for clarifying the 2 wheels on the curb

i have driven one lap whit my laguna setup. 1:34. Alot of room to improve cause the car wouldn't turn at all. i think i won't be practising the next days.

I was able to pull a 1:30.195 when practicing on saturday night a little bit. I think I can break into the 29s with a little bit more work. Yay for not finishing on the podium last race! :)

1 30 195 on the medium tire ?

my best is 1 31 1 on the medium so far , im still using my laguna seca setup

@Arkano , i have the g27 wheel , i did some testing a couple months ago with no abs and gt500 cars and it was scary at first but after adjusting brake balance it became manageable

We use the car specs made by PURE and I doubt they tested it on other compounds than they use them self. So it's more of a hope it would even out a bit. The tyrewear is almost like we used to have on the soft so we would also have less different tyrewear between the cars. And like I said earlier we wouldn't need to use the pit as a racing line :scared:

I know it's harder than with a more expensive pedal set, but when it can be done on a DS3 I guess it would take some practice and some understanding of the concept to make it work. But it's doable. Also the very easy brake pedal DIY fix would make it less of a cheese.
But I get it, not something you would want. I just see it removes the unnatural last second braking and it makes the entire thing more aggressive. Just a suggestion to improve. If it makes it to hard for people I also see it as not a good thing to do.

But I notice almost everyone brake with their left foot, try that in your own real car once, or tell someone driving the car to use their left foot.. A suggestion, fasten your seat belt!! Driving a car isn't really like driving a kart 💡 But after some practice left foot braking is quite easy also in a road car. It just take getting used to.

yea on mediums. My NSX setup likes this place, but I think it may just be that I enjoy racing here, so I'm a bit better at Monaco than I was at Laguna, my nemesis. I was doing high 30s in my Clarion GTR just to see what it could do.

I might actually have a chance here...maybe.

Sounds like your a sure thing for the podium with that pace , its good to have you in the league

When you're driving a car with a sequential gearbox you have no choice but to brake with your left foot unless you want to disadvantage yourself voluntarily! :sly:

I really don't think we should remove ABS not because I don't want it gone, but because the difference in racing equipment would make a bigger difference than it already does, which is totally unfair imo.

That is a good point , hopefully we can do a lot of testing in the preseason to try and level out the cars . I think the improved ballast system might solve most of the problems

What I tried to get through here was that is something you have to practice. You have to be more sensitive on your left foot than you are today. Most people find it normal to be sensitive on their right foot, but after practice it can be just as good with the left foot.

You should really just try it with no ABS, change brake balance to 2-3 on the front and 0 on the rear. A good way to start practice it. I have tried it in my living room now on my old wheel and its about the same as the pedals I do have now.. Just needed a few minutes to get used to those DFGT pedals again.

But I'm not going to argue on this, I just feel you post without testing it.

I've tried it before, not extensively but I have tried it.

The problem with the DFGT is that the pedals are positionally actuated, whereas on better sets of equipment like the Fnatec Clubsport pedals and the G25/27 and the T500RS the pedals are pressure actuated, makes it immediately more difficult.

no ABS is intresting. I tried it once, It didn't feel right and just turned it off again.

But in pre-season when i practised for daytona, i was driving whitout ABS. I didn't notice i had turned it off in the options. and drived 3 houres whitout ABS. After some time Adam joined the room and turned it back on. And i was quite shocked i was so fast whitout ABS. I even had the same speed, more or less. The only thing what was diffrent is my tyrewear, it seemed to be bad whitout ABS and better whit ABS. Atleast thats the only long stint i ever did whitout ABS.

So I think its just a matter of practise to get used to it. For some it will be easy for some hard. But not impossible if you try. Atleast thats what i think. But also on this subject, for me its all the same.

And if you set up your car for no ABS it can be better to your tyrewear, you probably drove around with a setup for ABS. When getting used to it and tune the car for it, it really feel good. Balance of the car is just so much better and so much more fun to drive. But it is a bit slower, you can't push like a idiot like now. But you and me do have a pretty good brake pedal compared to the cheap plastic pedal of the DFGT so I do have to agree with Arkano.

I just look for more of a challenge as I'm getting a bit tired of the easy driving GT5 provides.
I guess I get that this summer when I get my new computer. And can start driving iRacing. I then fear I wont be putting more time into this league even if you guys are so much fun to drive with. And also this league have been what made me more interesting in racing online.

Here is what I have to say about the matter.

I have no problem with the DS3 even when using the sticks. Even with the cheap plastic pedals you still have more control. An easy way that I have found to really help is to put a small pillow under the brake pedal. Try it once and you will believe me when I say it feels just like a pressurized pedal. No ABS is something that takes practice like changing to manual or changing to no TCS. Having no ABS is more realistic than having no TCS. How many race series do you see that has every driver stamping on the brakes to the floor. It is no different than stamping on the throttle halfway through the corner not spinning out. It will give some credit to those who can balance the very fine edge in between braking early and locking up the brakes. This will give a better competition to out brake someone and more consequences than just snowplowing people like we do now. This can also give differences in tire strategy because those who are pushing and locking up the brakes will have much worse tire wear than those conservative drivers. Having no ABS will put more emphasis on driver performance than now where it is mostly about finding the right setup and putting your right foot down.

At every track that I have watched the front runners, at every corner they downshift with the needle bouncing off of the rev limiter to get extra speed and more grip. This is very unrealistic as shown when you try doing that without ABS as you go spinning wildly out in the grass. This will give our series even more of a simulation feel like that of Iracing which I have started playing on my new computer that I got today:)

This is just how I feel about this and I hope you have stuck around this far to read this and maybe understand where I come from. :dopey:

I know that immortal races karts in real life without abs so I hope to see him agree with this to see if he can maybe drive more composed to save tyres instead of just pushing to the absolute limit. (not trying to start another argument but maybe trying to find a solution to have some FUN) :)

Hope to see some replies to this

Yeh Hurley said it all .

I think we should just test in the offseason and have a vote to decide the new rules .

I'm sure we will come to a compromise

Back to Monaco , this track surely gives my arms/hands a workout

I didn't do any practice yesterday so I will be on sometime today to get a few laps in .

I will post again when I'm online .

I still haven't made it below the 1 31s , but I am very close .

Same here, i am way off the pace(to say say it in the Digi's language). I find it hard to find a good setup here. Still need to improve the car alot. Also my driving isn't that good anymore, atleast not yet. I am a real Monaco master in other racegames. but it has been a very long time since i raced here.

It does help me being a karter at some point in my life. Good fitness

If anyone is practicing I will join but I don't want to practice alone .

I haven't put much work in the setup , don't think I will for the remainder of the season .

I'm just trying to beat Falcon for 3rd at this point so that's the goal for the next races .

Maxi yes I am off the pace :)
