If GT5 does incorporate a livery editor...

Personally I'd rather have more options for "body kits" etc rather than autosculpt..

If PD incorporated a wide range of mods for cars (wings, body kits etc) , I would be happy enough..

I'm not saying like NFS etc with tribals etc. But I want if possible to have a good kit on my car and have a custom livery on it whether it be one from a car from the past or a whole new design.

What it boils down to is, if i've taken the time to fine tune etc. I want the ability to have it looking like a proper race car...

Autosculpt was a great idea, but in NFS Carbon its potential wasn't realised. It allowed for potentially limitless possibilities for customisation. I think that as well as authentic body kits from companies like Varis, VeilSide, AB Flug etc., you should have the ability to customise some basic body kits and spoilers. Of course, there will always be one chav/skanger who puts a 1m high, 2.5m wide spoiler on a Toyota Starlet, a Honda Civic or a Vauxhall Corsa.

And whats wrong with that, :nervous:

Just kidding, If the possiblities are there its going to happen, I think eveyone just wants to have those "possibilities" in the first place....

At the end of the day, a livery editor (regardless of the travesties people make) has been an overwhelming success on Forza and has massively expanded the depth and longevity of the game, so there is no argument as to whether or not it's a good idea for GT5.

👍 Not just Forza, most (racing / car) games have it now.. Does PD want to ignore that "this gen" us as gamers love to create (or copy real) designs/ and bring a personal touch to OUR cars? I'm hoping that any developer now, can understand that giving us the tools to create... means it keeps us interested in the game for years.... on a purely basic level...

Even though I know If it wasn't in GT I'd still get the game....

But just a simple thing as being able to custom design a car, can add 100 times more value.... Even when newer games come onto the market..

I will probably do nothing with the livery editor because I sux at using such programs! LOL However, I do hope if there is a livery editor that the liveries can be shared - I would love to download liveries made by fans!

I think we all want the option there to share..

I'm not the best but if I somehow managed an amazing livery that others would want I'd be happy to post it up..

I just hope they take a leaf out of Little big planets book, and just let users post onto a server for everyone to download..

And Sony or PD can't say it isn't possible...

I'm not understanding why autosculpt is so cool. I played around with it on the Carbon demo, but I hated it because... well, if you think body kits at all are ricey, creating misshapen forms that don't exist and no one would make in the first place are beyond rice.

Body kits definitely have a place in GT, because that's how most racers race mod cars for enthusiast and semi-pro racing. And yes, a very few people can make their own fiberglass or resin body panels. But it's very hard to better one of the established manufacturers who do aerodynamic research for their designs, such as Amuse, C-West, Ings and Trial, as driftking stated.

Play, create and share has become a big part of several games in the PS3 library. With all the technology sharing going on, there's definitely no reason we can't have this sort of thing in GT5. 👍

To right, I think the fact that custimization is at the end of the GT5 trailers sort of says that we will have more than other GT games, other wise it would be a joke.

Just imagine what sony would say,

"custimize your car in GT5 by chaning the wheels, maybe a small spoiler and er thats it"

See that would just be stupid so this is why I say that GT5 must have more custimization that previous GT games :)

I hope there will be a livery editor. After playing Forza 2 and 3 it will be a little hard to drive in standard paint cars, no matter how good GT5 will be. At the least I'm hoping Racing Modification makes a return.

Apologies in the highly likely event that this has already been suggested.

Didn't Kaz say that you can customize EVERY part of your car as wanted players to feel like they own it in real life ?

You do know the GT40 is already in right?
I would like to think that the Gulf GT40 will be Premium since Kaz owns 2 Ford GT's.

Back on topic: I would like a Livery Editor, but it doesn't have to have as many layers as Forza's (at least for me) b/c all I ever do is add a couple stripes to my cars or replicate cars like the Gulf livery on the GT40 or the LeMans liveries on the Focus RS's. I hate having cars with anime, cartoons, etc. on them.

Takin' it back to tha old school, 'cuz old school, is so cool...

This. It's still one of my favourites, and I'll apply it to numerous cars. Made it years ago in the GTR mod for F12k2 on a Porsche. It works on a lot of cars :).

The Civic SiR and Miata are two I'd also try to recreate ASAP.

Wouldn't mind trying to redo the '98 GT-one (preferable to the '99). There are a ton of old classics from the PS1 days that are fit for a return, really. Plus I plan on coming up with some sort of identifiable livery I can use for my own cars for any series I might end up taking part in. There's the very likely chance I'll spend more time than racing if we get a decent livery editor.

When you think about it, a livery editor is great, However, hopefully they add the option to choose from multiple liveries for one car. For example, I want to have a plain Honda Nsx, at the same time I wan't to have a liveried version, but I don't want to buy another honda for a different livery. I know we will (Most likely) have the option to delete liveries in the editor, but I don't want to go back to the editor and delete it just for a race.

Basically, In the car selection, I hope that we will have the option to browse through copies of liveries, that we can apply easily before entering races and such. So we don't have to purchase cars specifically for different liveries.

That would be a neat integration. Specifically going into Paint on FM3 and changing the livery from the design catalogue is an unneccesary extra step.
