Well said Analog, I agree 100% and if there is unnecessary things made on cars couldn't there just be a report button. Also I expect there will be far more people using questionable language than there would be people making offensive design's don't you?
Well... those are the only options anyone has available for a livery editor.
As for importing images, as much as I'd like that myself, there's just too much opportunity for nonsense with that. No console game I'm aware of will let you do that, because too many kids will put obscene, racist or radical crap on their cars, sometimes just to get a rise from others for all of five minutes. Humans baffle me.
There's a website or two I lost track of with logos from various businesses around the world, and it would be so cool to just grab them and use them in Gran Turismo.
Can i just say they look amazing, We need a livery editor on GT5 just to see what you come up with (ghostrider135 stops kissing arse now) lol
We need to share a bottle of brandy. The one thing that's often lacking in this discussion is humour I find, as much as I hope a livery editor will give me and others who are similarly minded the opportunity to hopefully create unique and beautiful designs or others the chance to replicate an existing design, the fear some seem to have for obscenities or bad jokes to appear in their precious clean cut GT-Utopia is sometimes hilarious.
A simple option to not display custom liveries online would of course solve this but why impose self-censorship in the first place?
I'm not suggesting appreciating obscene language, symbols or bad jokes but part of the fun for me probably is watching cars created by people with no taste, code of conduct or creative skill as they stroll by, like I do seeing horribly butched-up and questionable modded road cars and their drivers passing by in real life.
Seeing those poorly conceived monstrosities always makes me chuckle ( and making completely unfounded and highly judgemental assumptions about their drivers ) but maybe I'm in a minority regarding this.
Anyway, like I said before the creative opportunity offered by a livery editor hopefully creates for the most part beautiful designs or recreations but it also offers the opportunity for a good joke and why not?
I couldn't contain doing it myself to be honest and adding a joke or an entire concept based on a humorous notion can also create an object of beauty itself like the picture below shows in my view ( it's a Porsche 917 "Piggy" ).
Remember the classic BMW 2002 Turbo in GT4 whereby the word Turbo was written mirrored on the front spoiler like the real one making it only readable seeing it from the rearview mirror of the car in front?
That was a nice joke by BMW in my opinion and sure offers opportunities to make a message only readable through looking in the mirror ( funny or not ).
Id probably be immature and do what I did on Modnation Racers and make Viagra and Playboy racing cars but i can be serious and I made an Airfix one as well so the line between offensive and not is abit thin
Like these
haha.. i didnt post it for arse kissing purposes... i just wanted to show what i want from a livery editor in GT...
but thanks anyhow
simple USB support to import files and the sky's the limit...
CMON SONY.... you know you want to.... lol
as much as im not a forza xbox m/soft fan...
http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x222/mrlatteuk/MrLatte959NearCompletion.jpg
you can skin forza...
doesnt seem to be any issues with copyright infringement there...
also having a tool where you can paint.. means you can copy anything anyway... just takes longer..
so either way..
either it cannot be done.. or to hell with it, sony dont take any responsibilty al lthey have created is an editor... its not up to them what people choose to do with it.
i really dont see any issue... especially as its already being done...
PC sim modders have been doing this for years... i never once seen a company complain because someone is using a logo without permission... either they are unaware, dont give a hoot, or the paperwork / cost / for one logo is too much to warrant doing anything about...
sorry to harp on about it...
but damn it would be cool to skin all those beautifull cars..
And thanks Zuel I couldnt find my Viagra car sadly haha but i suppose F1 and WRC e.t.c have advertised alcohol and tobacco products so adult products shouldn't really taboo should it ?
Nice 959 by the way, I cant really think of anything witty to say to that lol but the thing is SONY is a big company and maybe they are too afraid of any bad publicity, Microsoft don't give two hoots about anything coz Bill Gates could pay anybody off lets be honest lol, In my personal opinion though I would rather have to make logos e.t.c myself just purely coz it seems like more effort has been put in and that way the rewards seem that little big greater
thats a nice porka skin dude..
are you able to race your skins online with forza ?? or are they just for personal use ?
There has been an F1 car sponsored by...( look at the provided picture ) in the seventies.
It was soon nicknamed "the small family car" ( get it? ).
I need to bookmark this page. Those are some beautiful, pro-looking liveries, Border. 👍sorry to harp on about it...
but damn it would be cool to skin all those beautifull cars..
surely there has to be some way around this... and Kaz did say they were looking into it...
These are very tasteful a lot of thought went in to them. Now this I would love to see in GT5. And we all seen Kaz talking about Mod Nation.
I think Kaz is adding one to GT6. I take it you wont be buying it.
Nothing wrong with Viagra and Playboy liveries, DTM runs Playboy Benzes and NASCAR Runs Pfizer\Viagra COTs.
