This won't happen because too many people will plaster cars with Porno, tobacco and alcohol brands or unlicensed Porsche logos and stuff like that and you'd have neurotic parents trying to sue Sony because the marlboro ferarri or the Winfield skyline their son saw on the game might cause him to become addicted to smoking etc

The livery editor in Forza is heavily moderated by the company and there's a clear set of guidelines for use. People are genuinely banned for abuse of the ToS. The logos that you mention are acceptable under the Berne Convention in terms of a Fair Usage policy - and you'll find that the PSN ToS are very similar to the XBL ToS in requiring parents to supervise any online activity. Parents can choose to block 'User Content' if they wish.

I'd like to see a Forza-style livery editor in GT5 - it gives an ability to take complete ownership of a car in my opinion. It takes a lot of skill to create the best designs (search the webses for "Little Vixen" + Forza) which stops idiots from just slapping Photoshop jobs onto cars,

I'm awaiting this, I hope it applies to standard cars as well, considering they are basically a texture map, painting those things could be pretty simple. They could allow you to map the car out in sections(if you like) and apply paint, vinyls or both. PD could also have their in-house artists put their race schemes up as well.

I'm really itching to see how they do paint shop for the premium cars, because the cars are actually in pieces, so I'm guessing you can color panel by panel, something that FM3 should have done. Then allow you to apply your own created schemes on top of it using the same type of system as in FM3, but with the panel by panel paint I'm suggesting. Every premium car is made up of panels attached to a underlying structure so theoretically you could have a multi-tone color car that looks right and not having to stretch and skew a figure to cover just the right part in the right color.

Something that I don't see mentioned often, but that I think goes hand in hand with an editor is blank race cars.

Forza let you wipe the livery off a race car and create your own. GT5 doesn't let you paint race cars at all. It would be very upsetting if you couldn't put liveries onto race cars. I think the racers need them the most.

Once GT gets an editor, I think that every race car should come with a blank version from the dealer that the player can put their own number, sponsors, flags, etc on.

Exactly my thoughts on the whole livery thing!👍👍👍 Or just 3 templates wherein you can play around with the colors. This is the most basic thing I'd want, just to make everyone a unique race car to use in leagues. Of course a full livery editor would be better, but from my experience in LFS, the online liveries are gonna suck 75% of the time. If people are so worried about eyesores messing up the whole online racing experience, then a default blank livery you can customize with pre-approved logos you can place anywhere is the way to go.

With that said, if it's a full editor, I'll most probably be recreating some Andy Blackmore liveries.

If I'm honest, I can completely understand why people wouldn't want this feature in the game - I agree that a real Supercar doesn't have stickers on it... but, what about the people who do want stickers, vinyls, decals, what ever you want to call them, on their cars!? I've got a great looking 370Z in GT5 - TVR Pearl Purple, Orange Enkei Rims, Carbon bodykit and spoiler - looks incredible, but it's just missing something... and that something is a ****in big a** scratch on the side

I agree, GT series should work on the driving more than else! However, there are (alot) of people who would use this feature quite reguarly. It could help in Photomode contests (by showing off your editing skills), trade deals (by making the car seem rarer), online races (by making the car different to anything else), and lots more!

Don't think you'ld use the feature? Great. Just don't stop others who would use it from getting it 👍

Livery Editor will only add to GT5's longevity, got friends who already are running their Super GT series. Now if we had livery editor we could make our own liveries for our race teams that I already see banding together. The RM cars need it badly, the PD inspired themes are just one basic look and that's it, everyone has it. Boring. I know that PD are working on a livery editor that will work on standard and premium cars, why else would they keep upgrading the visual fidelity of the standards. Check out those rims, they are fully 3d and you can even see the disc and shoes on a standard car too. It's incoming at least paint those standard rims, lol.
