If PD joined Google Maps with the Track Editor, what would you make?

True. I'm from Atwater village. The dodger stadium ispdea does sound dope. Also downtown LA.

My wife used to live in Silverlake. That whole area around Dodger stadium has a lot of potential with the hills and twisting roads. Downtown LA would require some work to keep it from being all 90* corners, but it would be awesome to have a track that included the 2nd street bridge or the tunnel.

I've thought of one years ago, goes through and round the town where I live.
It covers different styles of roads from tight ones with buildings each side to country roads and there is also the town's quay in it as well so you get a nice drive right next to the river, also includes main roads and an Industrial Est.

This is the longest route but the would be lots of possibilities of short sections.

The whole idea would be that it's a virtual track with no rush hour traffic. :)

i'll try and remember that when i'm on it in the morning, damn road.

but it would be a good track in gt5.

plus there is no rush hour on the M25, it's just busy whatever time you hit it.

I rode it early hours of the morning as a pillion passenger on the back of 1000 V-twin Honda Firestorm at 130mph.
You can really notice the undulation at those speeds. :scared:

that would have been awesome, don't seem to notice it much in a mondeo :grumpy:

It really changes the way you perceive the M25 and I only wish DP could experience it and allow this Google Earth/ track maker thing to happen.

it would be a good track, it would be great if it happened.

Too be honest, the first thing i would do, is do my hometown layout, where i drive to work and back, make that a track and see how fast i go. Too be honest this would be an alright feature, i mean, with the graphics the way they are in GT5(some of the mediocre track grapics) it could be fun, especially if it could somehow convert streetviews....but you know how that would go down with authorities.

Hell, you can feel the undulations at 90, particularly the South East quadrant (where I've spent most of my time). Not sure I'd want it as a track, bit too long, even in a Veyron or X1..!!

Speaking of long courses, how about the A3(M) from Guildford to Waterlooville..?? Dual carriageway, with long sweeping corners and ever changing elevation.

A number of years ago, I spanked a car of mine into the Armco. Once I got it back, I needed to regain my confidence. It was a flightly little monster anyway and after having spun it, I was nervous. At the time, my Wife (to-be) lived in Kent, I lived in Portsmouth. I drove back from hers around midnight and kept my foot in for the entire journey. That section of the A3(M) from Guildford down did wonders for my confidence. My poor little car was still huffing and puffing when I got up to go to work the next day :mischievous:

Failing that, how about a quick blast across the Moor?? Two Bridges, Yelverton, Tavistock and back. 21 miles on B Roads...

The Cat and Fiddle would be good to drive too, without the new speed cameras.

Google Earth Runcorn (England) , and you will see its got a ring road that will lend itself to a urban race track. I would upload a picture but damn incompatibility:crazy:

Never, ever, ever gonna happen, but if it did, I would need a new pair of pants. But just remember, it would require PD to model every square millimater of road. In. the. entire. World.

I would do the Red Rock Circuit. There's a nice scenic drive loop out at the Red Rock

Google Maps
red_rock_circuit.jpg

It has some nice views and lots of turns with some straights, too. The road would need to be widened a little for racing, but it's a really nice circuit.

Or imagine the M1 motorway from junction 1 in London all the way to junction 38. That will make a good 4hr endurance race with the various petrol stations serving as pitting stops.

Haha, yes, but it wouldn't be the first time where their ambition outstretched their capabilities ;) I wouldn't be surprised to see this listed as a feature in GT6 or 7, only to mysteriously never appear *cough* youtube uploads *cough*

Not travelled that one, got a mate who likes in Macc, so maybe I should stop in on him and the pair of us can take a leisurely drive up there.

Btw, how can I get my pictures to show like on the second post above mine?

Get yourself setup on an image hosting website. http://imageshack.us/ is popular, I only use Flickr because I was already set up there to access my brother's photography. Flickr isn't really designed for this use, so I'd go with imageshack...
