If PD joined Google Maps with the Track Editor, what would you make?

Not by a map like that.
A picture is worth a thousand google maps.

I only needed to see "Douglas" to feel a shudder run down my spine. Not because of the TT, but because of all the weird people that live there and look just like me :sly:

Lol, but my god!! If the only feature in Gran Turismo 5 was this USA map/route with all the roads I would spend $60 for it in a heartbeat!!!

Can u imagine you and your friends competing against 15-20 other teams on who can cross the country the fast or due a an every man for himself first across wins!! my god that would be the most EPIC game on the face of the planet

God if I was a billionaire id personally make this game a reality >.<

As much as it sounds stupid, a few tracks in my neighborhood and those nearby have the potential to be good... imagine a turn like the Corkscrew, only more distance between turns, narrower, goes right-to-left not the other way around, and much, much less forgiving if you go off.

There are some crazy hills around here... could catch a few online players off guard.

That track would come within 70 miles of my house...

It sure would. 70 miles in either direction from that route would be an area of about 420,000 square miles. It comes within 70 miles of a LOT of peoples houses.

IN FACT..... if the internet is to be trusted, the average population density of the U.S is 76 people per square mile, so it comes within 70 miles of roughly.... 31,920,000 peoples houses.

For the record, im not generally an asshole, but its 3.30 in the morning, im drunk, just spent an hour trying to win the Fiat 500 'expert challenge' seasonal event which should have taken two attempts at most. And apparently, all that combinecd, makes me want to do maths.

Good night all!

I'd look for every real world race track PD didn't include and make it:P

I feel like this is an unoriginal response, but to be honest, this is what I would go with too. I really like real world race tracks, but hey, once I get bored with that; there are some amazing off-road trails where I live, that would make incredible rally locations, so there we go!

I would make this....

Deptford & Greenwich Loop.
DepfordGreenwichLoopFinal.jpg

As you can see, there are 3 variants of this track (in Blue & Yellow).
there are some nice straights, a small bridge, that nice little square through Greenwich centre past the historical Cutty Sark.

Also, on the blue route is a train bridge to pass under that splits in two. This exact one in fact...

It looks narrow but, it is plenty wide enough for cars to come through at high speed..

Part of the route is also run by athletes in the London Marathon.

And it goes past my flat:sly:👍

There is an amazing place, really if you have a couple mins take a look and see what you think. This is my late night track. Its beautiful, fast, challenging, and well maintained. Its the loop at Garden Of The Gods here in Colorado Springs.

Start at 2:52 in the video, thats the start/finish of the lap.

This is by far the craziest wish for Gran Turismo. I do WANT!

hsdioce
I'd make a race around my neighborhood and by my house as well as stopping by my friend's houses

You took the words from me :D

This is from my home town

video shows davison drive to elliot drive. I would also include the road around the Blue Lake (turn left instead of right in video) approx 7km including the hill climb.

P.S satellite image taken in summer, the lake is grey in winter.

If you search "Wells BA5" you will see this immediately, it has sweeping serves uphill (on A371 Constitution Hill) a real tight hair pin, on a slope. a long wide straight on A371 E Somerset Way for good slip streaming and overtaking, Plus some real nice sceenery like shown below the map!

That across the US thing sounds interesting except for the part between the Missippippi and the Rocky Mountains. The Great Plains are rather boring (unless you throw in some weather).
