On a serious note tho I saw a thread at iRacing where they were talking bout using ATLAS to improve their times at Lime rock. You just need to save out yer telemetry and compare it to Jans' times.
I have been exploring Atlas recently. It is obviously amazing but pretty tough to get started with. The Lapfaster pdf that is linked to in the iRacing forum is very helpful to understanding the basics.
If no one has the link handy I can dig it up if need be.
If you are getting in the low 59s at LRP then you are on track to be an Alien! At this point only other Aliens can help you! Check for them at the iRacing forum. good luck!
Yeah Dijital Majik I've looked at your racing history a few times and was amazed. You're definitely doing amazing work
Guys I'm thinking of hosting an LMP/GT session at Limerock later on this evening, everyone here is welcome to join in!
It was nice to see you in the Lotus today.
In your high splits. overall, not so many pilots can run 58s/59s.There seem to be an awfully high amount of people hitting 58s/low 59s (it's a little depressing to see just how many!).
Thanks Jav for hosting 👍
Again I had tons of funs battling with "The Greeze". Man if everyone on iracing could drive like you Simon...! At one point, i was not afraid to be side by side in corners, and i cant say this when it's official races. That was awesome man 👍
Here's a video of my best lap with the Star Mazda at Mosport:
Still 1 sec off the top times but I didn't try to change the setup, I'm just using the low downforce one.
True,
To go fast you need three things:
1. learn the line
2. never plant the throttle if you don't know you can keep it there.
3. Details... to go really fast you need to work on the details in your driving to get that extra 0.1 in each corner.
Atleast thats my point of view to go fast![]()
BlakeAnd to go really fast you need to ignore #2.![]()
Why?
I really wish more people raced the Ford Falcon. Its an absolute awesome car and hardly any of the races go official. I'd race the Australians, but my schedule don't really allow for that.
Excited for some Mustang action at Spa this week though.👍
I don't think they get it... Smooth = fast.
If you know that once you put your foot on the throttle you are able to keep it there then you're not pushing hard enough. There has to be an element of risk when you transition to the throttle if you're going for a really fast lap time otherwise you'e just being conservative.
Don't get me wrong, being conservative isn't a bad thing. It helps with consistancy, reduces risk, etc. But when you're going for a really fast lap you do need to take some risk with your inputs.
This quote that i use is actually from a 3 -time F1 World Champion, Sir Jackie Stewart.
