Dav11 you can see it using telemetry. I loaded a telemetry file into Atlas and created a waveform with throttle position.
Being able to compare telemetry is amazing. Its one thing to read track notes or watch a lap video and quite another when you can see every element of the controls and reactions.
Now don't get me wrong I am no where near fast but I do know what I need to change now.
It isn't that easy to get going with Atlas/telemetry and I am only just a beginner. Everything I know I've learned via the iRacing forums and the links I found there. iRacing has the software a quickstart guide that is ok under resources. Lapfaster has a great guide that can help you know what to look for.

I am guessing that a :58 is near limits of what is possible based on what iRacing forum members have to say. That lap was from Jan Coomans "My best time is nearly 2 tenths off my optimal (58.475-58.307)". So I don't know if he is smooth but I guess he knows what he is doing

do you have a 58 time from a person you know is smooth?
its not as important for slower cars but F1 cars it's very important due to the narrow operating window on the limit.
the tire model we have now on the F1 is pretty unrealistic in certain areas.
Hopefully the NTM will fix this un the same philosophy as driving the lmp2 and GT2 Ford.
