Kaz says the standards are going to be in GT7. Is this a deal breaker for you?

I didnt mind it so much on the PS3, I was half and half on the matter. We are on a new generation of consoles though, and literally everyone one of its competitors are going to have an edge over them.

Graphics matter to alot of people, thats not to say that those same people dont also care about physics. Why is it hard to understand that both can be achieved? I for one love photomode in all games, and hearing this doesnt inspire much interest for me.

It goes both ways.

The flawed logic of same arguments against Standard cars cycling around here for 5 years now is funny.
Oh come on Amar, you can't be serious that you don't mind standard cars returning, do you? Why?
It's truly baffling. Plus the funny thing is the people defending them are the exact same people that would buy the game with or without them. But those are people Kaz is trying to please, not those who might be in two minds.
It looks to be Kaz is only pleasing those people. He also doesn't seem to care about the competition either, which proves of keeping the standard cars in GT7. Ridiculous.
I really hope they get a huge backlash over this in gaming media and they're forced to rethink.
Agreed x100.

Seeing the Alto Works and the Falken Skyline R34 on PS4 in their current state is going to be an absolute joke.

Pretty amazing to see how quickly Forza just caught up with GT and getting better. I loved FM4 and I wish PD would just be able to make that progress with how quickly T10 does, but I don't know how much it is and how difficult it is for PD so I'm not going to criticize them too much, but 2 generation old models in a PS4 game...really.

(Not trying to start a whole FM vs GT war so please don't.)

Were you all expecting 1200+ cars with fully detailed interiors? Which game has ever done that? None... Not even close. We'll still have 500+ premium models, which is just an amazing amount of cars. Who wouldn't like to have those 1200+ premium cars? But just be realistic, it's impossible to have so much detail in so many things.

Why is it hard to understand that both can be achieved?

It's pretty damn hard to understand how they could get 800 (or whatever the number of standards is) premium cars done while no other game has achieved the same. Seems to be the usual GTPlanet double standards again, if game X has 300 full quality cars it's perfectly OK but if GT7 doesn't have 1200 full quality cars it's unacceptable.

On the other hand, if the standards are dropped, the 🤬 will hit the fan in a spectacular way and most likely the loudest whiners are the very same ones who didn't want them in the game in the first place. But hey, got to keep complaining, no matter about what.

Forza 4 was at 700+, and that game was released in 2011.

Because I simply love those cars and I want to have them in the game.

Removing Standards would mean 500 cars (here is to you Samus :)) less.

Keeping Standards does not mean that Premiums and creation of new cars will be compromised. Modelers are making only new cars since 2009.

I seriously think all of people that want Standards out are very egocentric towards other group. You will be having your Premiums this way or another and ALL new cars introduced in the future will be Premiums. But you are absolutely neglecting the group that can live with the Standard cars just because you don' like them. While the other group have nothing against having both.

I don't know.

It is impossible and 500 cars is a very large number, no one is complaining about that, 500 premiums without standards is more than enough.

Gran Turismo actually really reflects my personal interests -- cars, photography, and video/film. So photo mode is something that's very important to me. So obviously I'm not pleased with the current rendition.

And I know how good it was in GT4, but it just so happened that the architecture of the PS3 wasn't really suited for this feature. But in PS4, I'm going to try to make sure that there's a photo mode that can satisfy any connoisseur of photography and you can really look forward to that -- because as a photographer, I'm really not satisfied with what we have yet.

:D

And thats how they shot themselves in the foot. It was a double-edged sword, and now no matter the situation they are gonna get flak for it. and why would they need to model 1200 premiums? Take out ALL OF THE DUPLICATES, and some of the unnecessary cars, and it can very well be done. If game X can make 600 cars at its release, and add 120 for DLC through out the month then how are insinuating that its not possible?

Its not even a launch title, so its not like they are rushed either, they have plenty of time.

Well I don't disregard those of wanting standard cars back, but it is silly of PD to bring them back on to the PS4... The gaming media is going to give them bad reviews because of them. :\

In a way I think over 1000 cars is too many as it's really hard to drive them all.

Totally agree.

There's my 60€ for GT7 preorder ( standards included), because I mostly don't care. If I want "premium" experience ,I simply choose premium car , but then , I like to drive some odd japanese standard cars too and enjoy them , even if they are a bit pixelated or come with blacked out interior . Of course , I don't take them to a photoshoot , so I can't complain how better the world would look without them.

PS: Ideally , all standards will be updated to semi-premiums (or dismissed) and the way those look in the GT6 (BTR,CTR ... ) , I got no "quality" issues with them. All I wish is , they would done same treatment to the rest of standards and with all that PS4 power ,I'm sure PD will do some tricks to make them look smother / better .

A large number of the standard cars are either dupes or insignificant cars from the 80s and 90s. Do you use all 800 standard cars? I doubt it. I don't want to lose every model currently represented as a standard car, I would like to see the most popular and most used re-done as premium. Maybe 100/200, I haven't checked. There certainly is no need for all 800 to be copied across.

Man is gonna have to the talk to man if man isn't happy.

Only way to find out why he wants them in the game may not only boil down to, "Each car has its own fans". There must be more factors on why they will be in GT7 and I feel that this is to keep promoting and advertising Japanese cars and the Japanese motor industry anyway he can.

Using your logic, why not just throw all the PS2 tracks onto the PS4 as well? Heck, why not just copy and paste all the content since GT3 into GT7? If it's good enough for the cars, why not the tracks as well?

Putting "1xxx" cars on the box, it's as simple as that. When you're the only game in town with a 4 digit car count it's a huge marketing advantage, especially if the public is unsuspecting. Take away the label "standard" as they did for GT6, and hope no one notices before they lay down their money.

So you guys are with Kaz, quantity over quality? Because 500 PS4 quality cars wouldn't be enough for you?

I never said 500 PS4 quality cars wouldn't be enough for me. In fact I'll more than likely only use those cars and rarely use the standards.

It's nice to have the option to drive them if I want to.

Absolutely, yes.

Tracks in GT3/GT4 looks amazing and I would have nothing against it.

Besides, almost all "orginal" courses in GT5/GT6 are upgraded GT4 models, not built from scratch.

While we're at it, GT4 Photomode locations gets my vote as well :)

That's it. I prefer having 500+ premiums and 800 standard cars that just having 500+ premiums...

What would you rather have, 500 pieces of candy and 800 lumps of turd or just 500 pieces of candy?

You're getting fixated on the numbers, just like PD are. It's not about "500" cars here, "800" cars there, it matters what they are. If you had a great list of 500 cars I find it hard to believe you would be feeling that something was missing.

Absolutely, yes.

Seriously?
