The Veyron does sound very crazy inside at super high speeds, loudness won't be an issue, the vibrating like crazy bit, I'm sure you'd would wish it wasn't there if you experienced it. Any car vibrating like crazy is not a nice feeling or a rush, you do want to feel connected to the road and everything the tyre's are doing.

They Veyrons engine is far and away the best part of the car, the only part I actually care for.

It is impressive, and sounds glorious when you stick your boot in it.

It's just got half a ton too much car stuck around it, and me, I miss the day when Rich guys didn't get supercars because they were easy to drive, they got them to lock up in the garage and rub them with diapers, while a select few actually pushed the cars, and on occasion, died for the experience.

Like I said before, be honest with yourself and give a good car the credit it deserves. That said, I wonder what some of you think of the Veyron. Like it's a quiet pussycat, and you can search a CD in the glove box at 250mph.

This is a proper sportscar, which just happens to be not quite as harsh as others.

Regards
the Interceptor

I don't think even that one is going at it full bore, it takes almost 4 seconds to hit 62mph, but it's probably the closest to it on film.

And that's not as fast as it can do it in.

For anyone that thinks no way 210 in 9 seconds is way too fast, that's 210kph not mph.

Km/h. Or else Famine'll come in and kill you, apparently that's how one of the mods died.
Famine:*Kills all the people saying KPH*
Other guy: ''Is this only the people above, or is it stil in effect? Test:KPH:Test. Hey, whats that knife--aaaaaarrrrrrgggghhhhhhhhh........

No, I meant to say KPH which does in fact mean Kilometers Per Hour. KPH and KMH both equal the same figure, the difference being how they are abbreviated (KiloMeters per Hour as opposed to Kilometers Per Hour), the wider used abbreviation and the one that everyone over here uses is KPH.

...I'd still take a Zonda F, lol.

The Veyron and CCX both make me very uncomfortable. They both feel very walled in...Almost claustrophobic. The Zonda has a very open feel to it, though.

I mean, look at that CCX's rear "window" How pathetic is that?

That "window" only adds to the bad-ass nature of the car. Who the hell cares whos back there?

i read in a magazine, perhaps CAR, v.recent that Koenigsegg plan to release the CCX in r.wing-affixed form only. Their engineers came up w/ the '4sec quicker' improvement, at least thats what this magazine announced, this is attributed to what the stig says on teh TG episode.

Does anyone know if they've given the stig a downforced one so he can feel better about his career (pants) again?

I do. I care about my surroundings. Like I said, I like the Zonda better because it's got a much more open feeling to it, plus it sounds better and is, apparently, faster/more agile.

I'd rather be zipping about in a bubble than going straight a bazillion miles per hour in a bulletshell.

👍

There's a thread of G.T's here that has a brilliant passenger segment in an accelerating C12S, you really get a sense of the surrounding countryside which in this case appears to be s.italy.

The veyron's vorsprung & portliness are it's characteristic. V.different from the hammer-of-thor vibe ime getting offa the CCX bullet.

I wonder how much this new rear wing will effect their top speed?

^^^ I was thinking the same thing when the folks at 'Egg said they were going to put a wing on the back. Even if the top speed drops by only a few MPH, it would still be the world's second fastest car, and it would increase the "safety" of the car signifigantly. Hopefully they do something tasteful, I don't want to see a 30ft spoiler on it like someone would do with their Honda Civic... Ewwww...

The Veyron gets it's wing keytucked out of the way for a TwoTopper run. There is a zone of greater turbulence upwards from 190mph that is quite hard to stabilize, the veyron has all wheels looking to stick plus i believe it has some mammoth brakes. These count for quality, read clarkson's sunday times article, a very fast car is not a simple matter to get right
& getting it right is'nt a simple matter of pleasing some soft exec. .

Does anybody know how much an actuating wing system weighs? I really don't know why they didn't just throw one on there ala SLR and Veyron. The obvious answer would be to save weight, as they only seem to care about straight-line speed.

Oh, but now they want quickness in the corners. It's like K'egg made backwards progress on itself. Now, instead of just designing an actuating wing regardless of weight, they're going to have to deal with the static wing's weight plus its permanent drag. That's just stupid.

So koenigseggers engineers werent clever enough in the first place to see how a ccx would work with some downforce:ouch:

It would have made common sense to me to make a ccx with and without a rear wing to see how the cars behave.

I agree. LOL just as im writing this Im watching stuff about koenigseggers on fifth gear.

A collector has 2 koenigseggers and also a CGT, zonda f, F40, lambos, bentleys and a clk dtm.

His favourite is the koeniggseggers, but he reckons the best for tracking is the clk dtm. He hasnt driven his CGT yet though. Oh and he says the koenigseggers are unreliable but the factory always fixes it in a couple days maximium.

I wonder why they don't go the extreme underbody/splitter route to get more downforce on the CCX?

It's all the rage, and I didn't see THAT extreme of a Venturi on the car.
