@Pyxen
Whats your fastest lap time on the Daytona? I'm getting 2:08.121 with Sports Soft in your Civic.
2:04.741 in Bolaz's Varietta. Have you guys added any parts for the next race yet? Im at 2:11.721 with the Alfa.

Well, that sounds right. I'm getting low to mid 2:06s online.

there's room for improvement, then! Start pushing to increase your corner exit speeds earlier, Garris. If you can carry your speed thru the chicanes on the back side, you'll definitely have a fast time.

Here's a quick tip for the bus stop.... You dont need a wide entry. Position your car about a car width from the wall on entry. Brake early. Coast through the turn and hit the gas as soon as you are lined up for the second apex. On exit from the bus stop, you might be able to just lift off the throttle a little to set up your line.

Good luck tonight boys. No upgrades for me, epic plan in effect.

Just look for the blinking lights and crossing guard.

Sorry to double-post, but...

Last time we did this track, two seasons ago, there was a big smoking mess in turn one. I went low and drove through it, but... I still hit the car hidden in the smoke.

I can accurately predict that there will be a wreck either in turn-1 or entering the bus stop. One reason I don't like this track. Even if you don't have a wreck, you will be going like a rocket when you come up on the wreck.

Also, there are two pit exits. You can use either, but if there is a lot of traffic, you might want to use the second exit. Traffic in turn-1 is rather quick.

I'm going to stick with the second exit, thanks.

Umm, I strongly recommend everyone use the second exit. You can't see cars coming into turn 1, and they come in fast... Too fast to react to someone getting in their way.

Wednesday night drivers will be required to use the 2nd exit and any altercations arising from someone using the first exit will have dire consequences. As in, the offending driver getting 0 points and 0 credits and the victims of said altercation getting points and credits of the position they were running before the incident (unless they happen to work back from the incident).

More on turn 1... Aim to apex the flat grassy section just after pit exit 1 but before turn 1. As you brake past it, you'll be in the right spot to for turn 1. If you brake too much, you can give it a little gas before the late apex of turn 1.

if you enter wide and think you'll turn in under braking, you'll just stay wide, run out of track, and end up in the grass every time.

Now, normally I wouldnt do this however I feel the need to let everyone in on my master plan. Just this afternoon my crew and I were out and about the road course setting up a slew of traps and gags to keep our fellow drivers on their toes and in the game. On random laps and random corners within those laps a number of curious events will unfold. I say random because I've given the reigns of my operation tonight over to my number 2....a dancing giraffe called Thimbles. Thimbles only instruction from me is to remain calm and in complete control of the master board...a sort of jimmy rigged mouse trap contraption I developed late last week over a bottle of Grape flavored Crush and twelve bananas.

Over the course of the race, a number of interesting things will either be released onto the track, come up through the track, slither across the track, bound over the track or fall onto it. Also, there are a few sight gags that will occur specifically around the bus stop. These events are best taken in at speed due to the fact that last minute I had to replace a renowed actors guild teams with a few Mimes and hobos I found in Central Park. If you feel the need to slow down for the gags I promise you the effect will be lost.

And speaking of lost, I'd like to point out something which may be of interest to drivers on Turn 1. Aside from operating the contraption of whimsy, the names a work in progress, Thimbles will be operating a two stage crane and punt unit. Upon entering turn 1, each driver is to yell out a color. If you cannot think of a color, you will be dispatched to the rear of the race. Dont ask how, just accept it will happen. If you can think of a color, good, your 1/3 of the way to an end. The color must satisfy two conditions. 1. It cannot have been a color mentioned previously and 2. It must be a color found on Thimbles extravagent feathered hat, which itself contains 96 colors from Crayola's Big box circa 1996.

Where was I...ah Big Box. Among the many item Thimbles will also have at his disposal, besides the crane and the NYC Mimes are the many toggles and levers built into the contraption of whimsy. Each one marking the start of many a unique event. The events are housed in one of 219 large ! boxes alongside the track.

Box Rules:

Hitting a ! box will result in the events within the box unfolding.
Hitting more than 1 ! box each lap will result in a orange card. At this time we are working on what exactly that means.
Hitting 11 boxes in a 4 minute stretch will give the driver responsible control over the contraption of whimsy for exactly 1 lap. You may enter the pit at any time to receive this prize if no one else is at the time.
NOT Hitting a ! box during the penultimate lap of the race will result in a purple flag. Drivers receiving this flag must drive the final lap of the race while listening to I love you from the Barney series on PBS.
Finally, failure to yield during a ! box event will result in automatic removal from race for 5 minutes. A lot went into the production of this and by goodness you're meant to see it.

I'd like to take a final moment to wish everyone an exciting race. And remember, the mimes were the best I could get. The gags should have been funnier if they werent.

There IS a pit road speed limit, you have to slow down to 55, or they give you a time penalty, no, I'm not kidding, it's like 6 seconds. I have done enough NASCAR to know.

So Bobkat, I'm confused. Why should I have waited? You were a lap down and not directly racing anyone. However, Jedi and I were racing for second place. I don't think it would have been too much to ask for you to brake a little early and lose maybe a half second that lap, and maybe actually gain some time drafting me. So I ask again, why should I have waited?

I've updated the spreadsheet. Cujo has eeked into third, so it is Moe, Larry, and Curly on the podium.

There was some epic comedy. On the upper right of my screen, I saw Geezer is Offline. I make a comment, "Uh-ho, Geezer's been dropped."

To which, Geezer responds, "I have?"

And then he was promptly dropped from the race.

Please, share your cars.

Because if you did, you would have caught up with the 2nd place. Instead you decided to overtake at 150mph at a sharp turn. I wasn't going to end up on the wall for you bro. Im not your team mate. Sorry you made a wrong decision. The other guys passed me fine. I do appologize to the guy I hit in the last lap before the race was over. I made a wrong judgement.

uh oh.... and my car is still fast as shiznit, so La Sarthe should be a good fight!

Garris, I think my remaining budget is wrong in the spreadsheet..out of 80K, I only spent 40K, which gives me 40K left to be spent on this last race..(which I did)..

Just wanted to point that out before you totaled up what I sent you, and asked why it's over what I had left...

From the GTP OLR;

"Drivers that are about to get lapped have to make sure not to interfere with the lapping cars. Slow down on the straights on either side of the track or maintain the outside line during cornering. If for whatever reason you happen to be on the inside line when being overtaken, stay on the inside line until all drivers that were about to lap you have passed. You are not allowed to deliberately block the lapping cars."

1. I made sure.
2. 1 and 2 passed me fine.
3. We are coming to a sharp turn at high speed when you decided to pass. I tried to stay away by staying in the inside line but you got impatient and ended up bouncing off me when you hit me.

It sucks, doesn't it? That's why it made more sense to wait a little bit.

What the heck was that about?......lol.
10th.....thanks.

It wil be epic @ LaMans......look at those standings.....wow. The series formula doesn't look broken to me.

Thanks team IKEA. No sandbags next week.

By the way, what does the red line thru the cars in the spreadsheat mean? Disqualification?
