They're getting closer apparently. Hope they don't reach my house. I've heard that they kicked down a front door and robbed an old lady.

00.41 Residents in Croydon have been evacuated due to the spreading fire, reports Guardian's Matthew Taylor. An officer tells him: "We can't cope. We have passed breaking point."

00.28 BBC: Residents in Clapham Junction have been told to evacuate their homes by police because of gas canisters in a blazing party supplies shop.

00.16 Birmingham - police have made 35 arrests. The city centre has been over-run by gangs ranging from the age of 10, up to 50-strong. The Armani store has been looted. A man has been shot and wounded in Croydon, Sky reports. Shops along the Camberwell Road from Elephant and Castle have been smashed.

00.09 Wimbledon Guardian reports looters in Colliers Wood had to be rescued by firecrews after becoming trapped under the grill of a sportswear shop. In Chalk Farm, North London, the Guardian's Paul Lewis reports motorists are being attacked with bricks, with shouts of "Who's next, man?" There are youths in balaclavas carrying scaffolding poles. One shouted: "Let's go rob Hampstead." Countless shops have been looted.

00.01 Police have called in air support from Sussex and Surrey. Shops are burning in Clapham and Notting Hill. Cars have been torched in Fulham Broadway. The Ledbury Michelin-star restaurant in Notting Hill was raided and the diners mugged. There are reports on Twitter of people carrying machetes in Notting Hill and Balham.
 
I have relatives living in Middlesex. Not entirely sure where in Middlesex though. Hope they're alright.

There is a lot of things being said and then spreading by word of mouth that arent happening. There were reports of isleworth and kingston being attakced an both were fine when i drove through both an hour os so ago. This really is revolting. Someone i really care about is a police officer at lavender hill which is one of the main stations by clapham junction

Yes although what is happening is saddening, loss of life has been minimal on both sides (police and yobs), the only death I've heard of is a man shot in Leeds

But they might get worse if ended in the "wrong" way.
Which is why this situation is so difficult for the police right now.
They are precisely not doing what people on this forum are suggesting. Because they are experts.

Making jokes about the city i live in and love when people very close to me are in the police force trying to deal with it in the main area. Could you be any more offensive? IDIOT!!!

I live in Middlesex too. It stretches a fair way into north west london. I havent heard any reports of any issues in middlesex yet. it does depend which part of middlesex though.
 
They've moved on now. They weren't rioting, probably just left the main riot to go home or something. They were right outside my window though!

There seem to be a few people who arent thinking about peoples feelings. I have someone who i care about a great deal who is one of the member of the police that are in the heart of it in london who are having to defend themselves let alone anything else so please people. bare in mind that this might be close ot the heart of a few member before coming out with flippant commets!!
