Soo the Giants played 2 games yesterday and Randy Johnson got his big 300 in the first!

That was awesome for the Big Unit!

I kinda lol'd in his interview when he said "I'm 45, I just won my 300th game and I'm thinking, I'm only 211 wins away from catching Cy Young."

Ha! Is Randy Johnson going to be around in baseball like Joe Paterno in college football? My Astros needed all the wins they got so far. Cecil Cooper's job isn't safe, however.

Our next series is a three-game swing with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Good luck, Astros! We just need to keep winning our NL Central matches to stand a chance.

Lopsided win for the Astros. We won 9-1. The big play was a Carlos Lee grand slam in the Bottom of the 6th. We're now 24-29.

Embarrasing record set last night by Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Alex Rios.

Rios struck out in all five of his plate appearances. It gets worse............

He is the only player in the last 55 years to have had two nine-inning games in which he whiffed in all five of his plate appearances.

:ouch: :ouch: :ouch: :ouch: :ouch: :ouch: :ouch: :ouch: :ouch: :ouch:

1 smiley ouch per strikeout Alex. :dopey:

There are better days ahead for him I'm sure.

On the Tribe side of things,
Carl Pavano goes the distance. 9 innings / 3 hits / 2 walks / 6 strikeouts, as the Tribe gets a shutout out against the ChiSox 6 to 0.
The bats did some talking as well, HR's by Travis Hafner,Ryan Garko, and a 3 run dinger by Mark DeRosa.

D-Backs had a great night last night in San Diego, they beat the Padres 8-0. Doug Davis pitched similar as he did when he had a near perfect game there last summer. Chris Young may finally start to end his offensive struggles, he went 2-3 last night, hit his 4th homer and he stole 2 bags.

AJ Hinch really needs to keep CY in the lineup, he's a damn fine center fielder, he just needs to find his bat. Gerardo Parra has a great bat, but he's basically lost in the outfield, Justin Upton & Chris Young usually have make the plays in left-center or right-center field while Parra just stays out of the way for the most part.

Tribe lost tonight 4 to 2 .A costly error and a passed ball beat us tonight. grrrrr errors. :ouch:

Pittsburgh forced a rubber game as the Astros lost 6-4. Despite Hunter Pence going yard, the rest of the Astros couldn't stop the Pirates from putting some more runs on the board. And what do you know... Oswalt lost another start. Wandy Rodriguez has basically been the man for my Astros on the mound this season. Just not Roy O's year...

The D-backs bullpen blows, Dan Haren had another great start, only gave up 1 ER in 7 innings with a 5-run lead, Tony Pena did a good job holding the game and only allowed 1 run in the 8th, but Juan Gutierrez came on in the 9th and allowed 2 hits, another run and a walk, then AJ Hinch turns to the closer, Chad Qualls and he immediately gave up a 3-run homer to David Eckstein to tie the game up at 6-6.

Right now they're in the bottom of the 10th, Jon Rauch on the mound for the snakes, hoping to send this game into the 11th inning.

EDIT: Rauch did what he was supposed to do, now the D-Backs are in the top of the 11th.
EDIT 2: Esmerling Vasquez came on in the 11th and pitched 2 scoreless innings, the game is now in the top of the 12th, Chris Young on 2nd base.

Last night, we lost 6-4 to Pittsburgh. And today... we WON 6-4 over Pittsburgh. So the Astros hit the quarter century mark in wins. The 'stros are now 25-30. We take Monday off to prepare to take on the Chicago Cubs. Either take on the Cubs, or just get hammered by them like we usually do. You have to win your divisional games, and for my Astros, that means handing the Chicago Cubs their respective a... behinds.

At the top of the hour, ESPN Sunday Night Baseball has a match between Philadelphia at the Los Angeles Dodgers (I think we all know who Prosthetic wants to see lose!).

Alright Tribe,took 2 of 3 from the ChiSox,winning today by a score of 8 to 4.

Once again the bats came alive,HR's by Chris Gimenez and Luis Valbuena, who went back to back in the 2nd inning.

Victor Martinez and Shin-Soo Choo also hit back to back HR's in the 5th inning.

David Huff pitched for his 1st Major League victory.He goes 5 innings,gives up 4 hits,3 runs,walked 3.

Great job this weekend, way to go TRIBE.

I knew this was going to be an ugly series, and the first game was proof of that, losing 7-1 to the Cubs. Tuesday was the first-round players' draft. Hope your team got quality players!

So I'm pretty sure that Prosthetic is happy with the Giants 9-4 win over the D-Backs last night, 17 hits for them Gigantes. Billy Buckner had a pretty good pitching performance going until the 6th inning where it all fell apart, this time it was his own doing and not the bullpens. (not that it's any better when the starter blows his own lead)

Tonight's matchup is Zito vs. Davis.

Last night we climbed out of the cellar by beating K.C. by a score of 8 to 4.

Tonights a different story,Tribe is getting shelled 9 to 0 and it's only in the 5th........back to the cellar.

The bloodshed is over........K.C. by a score of 9 to 0.

I haven't seen an Astros game in some time, as I missed the Astros' 2-1 victory over the Cubs. They now have the same number of wins as my age (26).

The rubber game Thursday afternoon will be Russ Ortiz vs. a pitcher I've grown respectful of, Ryan Dempster (CHC). I think I found out that the Astros' next series will be one of the few non-interleague games as my Astros will be playing at Chase Field against the Arizona Diamondbacks (JohnBM01 vs. TS) during 24 Hours of Le Mans weekend. So if I'm not all hungover from Le Mans, I'll probably check out that game. The ESPN match for Sunday Night will be St. Louis at Cleveland.

WOW!!! That home run by Sandoval last night was a BOMB! You could see the second he hit it was going to be out. Good to see him showing the power stroke, and hes hitt .322 right now!!! That game got Cain to a 8-1 record!

Today Zito didn't pitch nearly as well as he has been as of lately, but he still got the win thanks to some offense. Molina with his first home run in at least a month... Hopefully its him getting out of the slump.

Right now Sandoval, Rowand and Uribe are our hot hitters, so hopefully they can continue it.

This just in...

Astros won 2-1 vs. Chicago Cubs in 13 innings! Geoff Blum got himself a game-winning RBI double to put the Astros ahead 2-1 and winning. This is now the fourth-straight series we've won. Good momentum heading into the Astros @ Diamondbacks series this weekend. GREAT win, now let's see if they can take down those boys in Phoenix.

Speaking of... last I checked, the D-Backs were leading 2-0 against (or at?) San Francisco.

D-Backs avoid the sweep by the Gigantes, winning 2-1. Max Scherzer was outstanding today, went a career high 7 and two-thirds innings, threw a little over 110 pitches and held the Giants to only 2 hits!

This weekend it's gonna be my Snakes against John's Astros, then it's off to Kansas City for a little more inter leauge play against the Royals next week.

Well we took 2 of 3 from K.C , which pulls us back up out of the cellar and into 4th place.

St. Louis in town for a 3 game weekend set for some interleague play. Then the Brew Crew from Milwaukee comes to town for a 3 game set as well.

I'm going to miss out on this series mostly since this is 24 Hours of Le Mans weekend for me. Somewhere in Arizona... TS has a smile as wide as the Grand Canyon as my Astros lost 8-1 in Phoenix. Hope the Astros can get it together for Saturday and Sunday.

NOT the way to start a road trip, Astros. Come on now. You're better than that.

Now, if the d-back bats could be like they were last night against the 'Stros, they can get back up into the NL West race with the Giants and Dodgers.

Still watching the 24 Hours of Le Mans (5:24:10 left to go in the race). But during the Speed Channel break to AMA Pro Racing Live, I saw the Astros lead 6-1. Seconds later, the D-Backs put up two more runs. Astros survived Arizona 6-4. The rubber game is tomorrow afternoon. And if I'm not all hung over after the 24 Hours of Le Mans, I might watch that game.

Congratulations to all winners. That even includes the Mets taking the second game in their series with the Yankees, as the Yankees won in improbable fashion. The Mets dropped the ball on Friday (goes to show you that the Yankees rule New York City). The rubber game of that match is Sunday. Speaking of Sunday, the Sunday Night Baseball involves GTPlanet's favorite Indians' fan- Nicksflix's Cleveland Indians hosting the highly potent St. Louis Cardinals. I may pull for St. Louis (Astros' rivals) for National League solidarity, but I still think the American League is plenty powerful.

Yep, I was indeed hung over after Le Mans. The Astros won their fifth-straight series as the D-Backs got blown out 8-3. Congratulations to my Astros. As for the D-Backs, keep on fighting in the NL West.

At this point, there isn't much the D-Backs can fight for in the NL West, other than to stay out of last place.

1 and 1 so far with the Cardinals this weekend , prime time tonight for game 3.

Go Tribe.

Great job by beating the Cards last night.

Cliff Lee was so close to getting a no-hitter (broken up in the 8th) ,still he got a complete game 3 hit shut out.

Tribe wins 3 - 0

Milwaukee Brew crew in town now for a 3 game set.

Might as well give the Rangers the Silver Boot. We lost 6-1 last night. Astros are now trying to play to win their sixth-successive series, which is terribly unlikely.
