What was not beautiful last night was the Dodgers scoring 8 more runs after Yusmeiro Petit had a quality start only allowing 3 ER in 6 innings. D-Backs lost 11-2.

I found out my boys lost 3-0 in St. Louis. I guess stores in St. Louis must have given away free brooms because we got swept in St. Louis. Maybe our luck improves when we go to Pittsburgh for a three-game tilt...

It's just the first week of April. We're still many months away from the last week of September. Good luck to all of your teams!

Silly Dodgers won 2 of 3 in Phoenix, beating the D-Backs 3-1 today.

Worst yet, Brandon Webb was placed on the 15 day DL with shoulder tightness. :grumpy:

Hoooooray Tribe :) , got one today by beating the Toronto Blue Jays 8 to 4,takes a lot of pressure off to finally get one under the belt. Now,lets go play ball.

Next up for the Tribe,a trip to Kansas City for a 3 game set. Then off to the new Yankee Stadium for a 4 game set

Just got swept by the Padres 🤬

I'm so pissed off right now on the decision making of Bochy... Hes soo effing retarded, I still can't get over these lineups he is making.

I can't wait till all the owners of the Giants are gone... Then we might have a frickin chance.

When I lived back in Vancouver, Canada, I would drive down to take in games at Safeco. I am a fan, not a die-hard, but a fan. It was tough to watch them last year though.

Right now on ESPN... the first-ever game at the Mets' new ballpark will get underway! It's the NL East's New York Mets hosting the NL West's San Diego Padres.

And... my Astros managed only four hits losing 7-0 against sorry-ass Pittsburgh. We need to stop sucking and start slugging. The new Citi Field looks amazing. WAY more than the former Shea Stadium.

[UPDATE] I had it as a 6-0 loss, only because I stopped watching the game as we kept doing nothing but take an early trip back to the dugout in each at-bat.

The Giants got rocked in Los Angeles against the Dodgers. The boys from beautiful San Francisco got an ugly 11-1 beating in Los Angeles against the Dodgers. Prosthetic... what happened?

Tribe back on losing end again last night , lost 4 to 2 against KC. :grumpy:

Hey John, what do you say about your Astros going against the Tribe for a 4 game set..Somebody might come out of this feeling better about their team.

Bah

The game that isn't shown on TV looked to have been a pitchers' duel between Davis and Wainwright last night, 2-1 victory for the Redbirds.

I didn't get to watch the game because I was in Fresno watching the Grizzlies (Giants AAA team) play the Rainiers (Mariners AAA team.) Grizzlies lost 1-0 but it was a great pitching duel. Rainers only got 2 hits, one was a single and one was a homerun.

The Giants are just having a long bad road trip. They need to come back to AT&T and get back to the winning side. Because we did win 2/3 against a better team then the Dodgers and the Padres.

Also Johnson just looked like he had a bad day. 7 runs in 3 2/3 innings. I'm not worried, because the Giants always suck in the first month. ALWAYS. Wait a month and we will be playing better ball. Look on the bright side, Randy Winn and Fred Lewis have yet to go 0 fer. So I'm happy.

I'm a National League guy, but the American League is very talented. I'm thinking that Cleveland will bring a great pitching match against my Astros. It almost seems like we'll need to clone Roy Oswalt three times and put those clones on the mound for all four matches. This, just to match the talent Cleveland has. They also got some hitting talent.

We're having a terrible start to the season, but the Washington Nationals are still winless. Part of a problem I have with most sportscasters is... there's teams worse than us... yet we're talked about as the worst. Like what Colin Coward (Cowherd) said about rather seeing some other baseball game than Astros vs. Nationals. I just hate when people think of some of my teams as the worst when there are teams much worse than us.

Astros at Pirates Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon. Then, we come home for a ten-game home stand against Cincinnati (4 games), Los Angeles (3 games), and Milwaukee (3 games).

Back to the whipping post :ouch:,Tribe got hammered 9 to 3 by K.C.

I don't know about our pitching John and our bats only work part-time ,the Tribe may get beat by some good High Schoolers  . O.K , I'll give you the series 3 to 1

I don't know whats going on and I know it's way, way, way to early in the season to give up,but man,I'm beginning to wonder what we have to do to win some ball games. 1 and 7 now, :nervous::ouch::ill:

Don't be worried guys... This just a "low" part of season for some teams. Their are times where a team will win 8 games in a row, and lose 5... These are just one of those times. Its not different then if it happened in the middle of a season.

Today is Jackie Robinson Day, so many teams will be sporting #42. There will be a special honor at the new Citi Field.

My Astros will try to force a rubber game tonight against the Pirates. We're sending Mike Hampton to the mound while Pittsburgh will have Ross Ohlendorf deal to my Astros. Ohlendorf is a Texas boy out of the state capital- Austin.

Inconsistency is killing my snakes through 9 games, 3-6, lost 2 of 3 in every series so far. The pitching is good enough, we just need to do a better job of getting on base and producing runs, Felipe Lopez, Chad Tracy, Mark Reynolds & Conor Jackson aren't gonna be playing everyday and they're the only guys that have really produced offensively so far this year.

I know it's early in the season, but goddammit this time last year the d-backs were 6-3 and looked to be the runaway favorites for the NL West. Let's hope things change on a weekend road trip to San Fran to face the Giants.

Marlins are the best team in the league right now. Budget ballin'. Can't beat the value.

Astros almost got a shutout victory. But thanks to a meaningless bot. 9th homer, the Astros settle for a 4-1 victory. This is just our second win of the season. Most of our damage was done in the top of the 1st where two sacrifice fly balls scored the first two runs. I kind of jinxed José Valverde when I talked about how Valverde did a terrible job of closing out against the eventual MLB champs, the Philadelphia Phillies. That game where we should have won 3-0, only to lose 4-3. Thankfully, no further damage was done by Pittsburgh as they can only manage one run in a day with rain falling.

Rubber game tomorrow afternoon! And if you're keeping score... that's 2 wins for the Astros. 88 to go to make Cecil Cooper's prediction come true! ^_^

I didn't see the game, but the Astros won their first series of 2009 as they beat the Pittsburgh Pirates I just saw the highlights on ESPNEWS. Lance Berkman took the Pirates deep in a 3-3 tie with an impressive three-run jack to vault the Astros over Pittsburgh 6-3. Both had ten hits and no errors.

The Florida Marlins got their first-ever series sweep of the Altanta Braves in Atlanta. Thet won with an 8-6(?) victory. The Marlins look to be real NL East contenders as of this point. They may tack on to their winning streak because their next series is against the Washington Nationals. AT Washington's beautiful ballpark, I believe.

The Yankees can now relate to the New York Mets. The New Yankee Stadium saw a big win... as the Cleveland Indians grand slammed the Yankees 10-2. Grady Sizemore did the Grand Slam damage against the Yanks.

Other games slated for today and tonight:

--- AMERICAN LEAGUE ---
* Chicago White Sox at Tampa Bay
* Toronto at Minnesota
* Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at Seattle

--- NATIONAL LEAGUE ---
* Philadelphia at Washington
* San Diego at New York Mets

St. Louis at Chicago Cubs going on right now. St. Louis leads 7-4 in the Bottom of the 9th and may well win this match.

[UPDATE] It's a final in Chicago- St. Louis wins 7-4 against the Cubs.

For the Astros' sake Cecil better be right, otherwise he might get fired.

That's three down, 87 to go for that 90-win prediction. It's great on ESPNEWS that someone actually gave Lance Berkman some credit. Welcome to the rest of the world, ESPN!

Last I checked, the Nationals are all over Philadelphia 8-2.

I want Brad Lidge back! Almost can't seem to trust José Valverde in a close game. We were leading 1-0 in the Top of the 9th until Valverde gave up his first walk, followed by a Reds' line-drive homer. Some fireworks on the diamond were starting up as the Astros got two guys on, but couldn't mount any comeback, Reds won 2-1.

Damn it to hell, I want Brad Lidge back so Valverde can stop f:censored:ing up these save opportunities!

Hope your team did well tonight...
