I'm not kidding myself, it's a popularity contest and Hill won't make it.

Anyway, we lost today 2-1 because of two stupid throwing errors in the bottom of the 9th, letting the runner on first get all the way around to score.

GOOD RIDDANCE to that stupid road trip and on our way home. SD and LAD on this home stand, we better sweep 🤬 San Diego. Hopefully the Dodgers are still on a losing skid when they get here.

If you can't take the heat, get out of... Chicago? Bottom of the NL Central Cubs ended up beating us 3-0. There were no hits recorded by either pitcher until about maybe the 3rd or 4th inning when the Cubs reached on a base hit. Astros decided to intentionally walk one guy when A. Rizzo came on- bad idea. That began a three-run inning as Rizzo got a base hit to go up 1-0. Three was all they needed. So we haven't done anything but fail since that s:censored:ty closing performance by Brett Myers in the SD at HOU series that deflated us.

So we sweep them in Houston, then they return the favor in Chicago. Four straight losses, and you may damn well make it five (or more) straight losses when we're at Pittsburgh for the next series. After that is a return home to take on the Brewers. After the All-Star Break next week, Astros better learn to win road games because this brutal stretch awaits after the All-Star Break: at San Francisco (3 games), at San Diego (4 games), and at Arizona (3 games).

How did you all do today?

Still waiting to see if New York can sweep LA and stay 2.5 back of Washington.

Wow this is starting to get obnoxious, there is more out cry with Pablo and Posey making it then there is with Uggla being the starting 2B, Furcal as the starting SS, Mike Napoli as C and Lance Lynn being chosen over a dozen much better pitchers. Or with Scott Rolen last year, or Derek Jeter and Yadier Molina in 2010.

I bet you if Sandoval wasn't injured his numbers would be as good as Wrights, and most certainly much better in the power category. He is a much better defensive player and Wright is going to be the DH I believe so he is still starting. Yes Ruiz is having a much better year, well he has a much better average which is about it. But unlike a lot of the players mentioned, Posey is not having a bad year, in fact after what happened last year hes been great.

Melky is straight up deserving, he will probably play CF as Kemp won't be able to play. Beltran in right (scary) and Braun in left.

Just sayin'... they ain't having bad years, and Pablos numbers have gone down since his return from his hamate injury. Which is something that no player in the history of the game can help, its a swing speed sapping injury.

It seems that the AL homerun Derby squad will consist of Robby Cano, the Grandyman (Granderson), Bautista, and Trumbo!! :D

OK, I wasnt doubting you. I obviously imagined it somewhere along the line. I guess even if he did say something, he is entitled to change his mind (or be peer pressured into it). Good to see Bautista back in it, hopefully he can do better than last year.

Enjoy tonight's games if your team(s) is playing. My Astros will try to shake off getting swept at Chicago by going to Pittsburgh. It's a four-game set and is our penultimate series before the All-Star Game. After the four at Pittsburgh will be three at home over the weekend against Milwaukee. But before the Milwaukee series, the Astros got four games in Pittsburgh.

Good luck to all of your team(s)!

Beltre, Hamilton, Andrus, Kinsler, Harrison, Nathan, and possibly Darvish as well Washington managing. Good day to be a Ranger.

Meanwhile... it's a bad night to be an Astro. We got lacerated tonight. Somebody call a medic for my Astros after having taken an ugly 11-2 thrashing at beautiful PNC Park. The way the Astros been playing lately, we should be at the bottom of the NL Central as opposed to the Cubs being at the bottom. I'll be damned if the Astros have an equally craptacular (to quote Bart Simpson) season as 2011 was for the Astros. It was a five hit, one error effort for the Astros compared to the 18-hit, one error effort for the Pirates.

The road game futility for the Astros will end evenutally. They have three more chances to get at least one road game win with this current road trip. Otherwise, they'll have to settle for the San Francisco - San Diego - Arizona road trip after the All-Star break.

Chipper Jones was automatically entered into the All Star game to replace the injured Matt Kemp. So vote for Aaron Hill! :D

All-Star is on Fox, right? If Chipper made it in, I have to make sure I catch that. 👍

We had offense, we had hits... just not enough to win. The woes continue as the Astros just lost their swagger. Once the Pirates took the 7-6 lead, the Astros forced Bottom of the 9th with a solid hit by Jason Castro. I stepped outside my room to put a cup in the sink. The moment I came back into my room... those punks hit a walk-off home run to beat my Astros 8-7. So we failed again. It just seems like a few steps forward, then run (not walk) many steps backwards.

Astros at Pirates tomorrow at 1:00 PM Eastern Time for Independence Day baseball. Hopefully the Astros will figure out how to win a game on the road for a change...

Oswalt probably would be better off in the bullpen. Kick Tateyama to the curb though.

I still don't understand why Tateyama is on the Major League squad. He's know for giving up back to back grand slams. I have hope for Oswalt. He had a horrible night but I think he can still be a quality starter. Holland, Feliz, and Lewis need to get back though.

7-0 Padres, top on the 4th. Letting one of the worst 🤬 teams in baseball walk all over us.

Unbelievable.

Time to watch something else.

Nightmarish for Bauer. I think he may have to go back down.

Yep.

Edit: sucks when your team gets a grand slam and that only puts a small dent in the score.
