That Trout catch did make the "Best of the Best" on SportsCenter. But... the Matt Cain thing still was "Best of the Best." ESPN- the worldwide leader in prostituting Houston teams getting beat or losing.

Oh, well... SD at HOU one last time later tonight to conclude this four-game series. It will either be a 3-4 series win for HOU or a split. SD and HOU will go at it in another 4-game series in San Diego next month. Good luck to your team(s) as well.

And now Houston is managing to get no-hit against the anemic Padres.

They got a hit! El Cabayo in the 7th.

Chris Young came through for us in the top of the 9th with a bomb to left center and JJ laid down the save, we won 3-2 against Atlanta. Patrick Corbin took over for Bouer in the 5th and was fantastic in relief. 👍

The Padres had a no-hitter on us through six innings, leading 1-0. The Astros finally decided to wake up and start hitting in the 7th inning. Bogusevic hit a 2-run bomb to lead 2-1. Brett Myers had a poor effort at closing as he hit a batter with the bases loaded. So it was tied at 3 in the Top of the 9th. Then that son of a b:censored: stuns the hell out of Houston with a Grand Slam. I was f:censored:ing angry that Brett Myers gave up a Grand Slam while we end up losing 7-3 with the Padres breaking that 118-game losing streak after trailing heading into the 9th inning. I think none of this would have f:censored:ing started if Myers didn't hit that one Padre to drive in a run to tie the game at 3. Series split in a game we probably could have won had it not been for that bulls:censored: closing performance. Epic motherf:censored:ing fail. Beating the Cubs and Pirates on this upcoming road trip will make me feel a hell of a lot better... unless our pitching fails on the road as well. This is all on Brett Myers if you ask me. Love the guy, but he f:censored:ed up what should have been us winning the series 3 out of 4.

SD: 7 runs, 9 runs, 0 errors
HOU: 3 runs, 3 hits, 2 errors

This will probably be on SportsCenter and all that. Sucks being in a miserable sports city. Now get out of my way- I got stuff to throw at and things to curse out.

[UPDATE] By the way, this was the 5th Anniversary of Craig Biggio's 3000th hit. Ironic that Carlos Lee hit a Grand Slam that night to win for the Astros that night. But tonight, we lose on a Grand Slam by the other team. Shame...

Giants now stand at the top of the NL west as the LAD lost to the Mets. Hopefully they don't get too crazy and leave us playing catch up. :scared:

Grats to Bumgarner for his first career CG. 1 hit shut out against the Reds. Shut down the extremely hot hitting Joey Votto. Maddy was on fire tonight, and was constantly throwing hard stuff inside to righties something hes done so efficiently in his young career.

Its awesome to think that the Giants are on pace to have 5 starting pitchers throw over 200 innings.

Oh, and 36 straight innings without giving up a run. That's four games in a row. :sly:

So, uh... yeah. We failed again. It was 4-0 in favor of the Cubs earlier today. This is an all-day game series between HOU at CHC. I didn't see any of the game. Next game tomorrow afternoon.

Get this: Aaron Hill hit for the cycle again tonight for the second time this season. Only the second player since the 1930's to do so. Not only that, Paul Goldschmidt was a triple shy of completing a cycle as well. His last at bat he hit a ball down the 3rd base line that may have finished it off, but a fan touched it with his glove and it was called fan interference. Never in the history of baseball have two guys on the same team hit for the cycle in the same game.

So close.

Anyway, we won 9-3. Excellent stuff from Ian Kennedy. Miley on the mound tomorrow. 👍

It was 3-2... Cubs. We outhit the Cubbies, but the Astros' road game futility continues. I'd like to know what spiritual figure or deity is preventing the Astros from having any sort of good luck or good fortune. Nothing seems to be working for the Astros. Ten hits and one error for the Astros, and the Cubs put out 7 hits with no errors. Stuck on nine road wins...

Yay for losing 8-0. Guess I'll play some GT. Good thing SF lost I guess...

Edit: final score 10-2. Bull:censored:

Mets get their 4th in a row and 3rd in a row in LA. 2nd Shutout in a row too. 34-3 in their last 4 games.

The Phils are really starting to look more like the Phils I grew up with than five time NL East champions.

Perhaps the fire sale has started -- Thome to the Orioles for a couple prospects.

Word has it that our Carlos Lee could be traded to the L.A. Dodgers. If that's true, then our paper-thin hopes of making any postseason run is pretty much over. That is unless the Astros get someone damn good in return. I always fear in every sport about people who play for my favorite team(s) doing much better for others. Case in point- Lance Berkman and Hunter Pence. Two solid Astros whom were part of championship-winning teams elsewhere. So I probably fear Carlos Lee may be part of the Dodgers if the Dodgers eventually end up winning a World Series any time soon (which would make our own Villain extremely happy).

Just saying World Series and Astros... I still find it terrible how we've gone from making the 2005 improbably- to never making it back to the postseason for over half a decade. These Astros are now just a team having to reinvent themselves and re-establish themselves trying to return to some sort of relevance. At this point, we may as well clone the 1998 Houston Astros and have them play instead of our 10+ games under .500 2012 team.

Whining/Ranting aside, hope your team(s) play great today!

Matt Cain got in too.. I'm really surprised Vogie didn't make it, and Casilla or Romo. Oh well.. Three starters, first time since Kent, Aurilia and Bonds.

You know, I'm pleased José Altuve got some All-Star loving, even if as a Reserve. I'm proud he got in. The All-Star Game is next Tuesday. This will be the 83rd All-Star Game, and the National League still holds the lead in the all-time record. Since my Astros are going to the American League next season, I'll have to cheer on the AL to support my boys.

Congrats to all who got into this year's All-Star Game. That even includes former Astro, Michael Bourn, who I think is one of the best pure athletes in the game today.

Yeah Sandoval shouldn't be starting. Oh well.

Its not like hes been bad, just injured. But this makes up for when Wright was bad in 09' and Sandoval was the best 3B in the NL by long shot and didn't get in. Then Wright made a weak throw on a routine play costing a run in the fist. :sly: At least Wright made it, Sandoval didn't even make it on the team, thanks Charlie.
