Again, near perfect outing by Corbin tonight but no run support and he won't get his 10th win.

BS.

Edit, now we're gonna lose our 4th straight to one of the worst teams in baseball.

STL says hello, though they did come through tonight against the Cubs.

ATL's doing alright. :D They might lose now that I jinxed them. :dunce:

I goofed in my last post. The Astros will have another NL family reunion with this Interleague series. We're hosting the Milwaukee Brewers for a three-game set. I edited my most recent post from "Colorado Rockies" to "Milwaukee Brewers."

In fact, a few teams will be taking on some Interleague action. Among some of the Interleague series, Villain's Los Angeles Dodgers will have some Yankee problems. Yep. LAD will be heading to the Bronx to take on the New York Yankees in their house. MLB Network will air tonight's game of this series.

Interleague or no Interleague, best wishes to all of your team(s) with the new series.

The Blue Jays are also on interleague duty at the moment, hosting the Rockies. More importantly, they have decided to play like they were expected to before the season started, now riding a 6 game winning streak, including a 4 game sweep in Texas 👍

All of a sudden San Diego is 1.0 game out. WTF.

We could lose a couple games and drop like a rock to 4th. Might be a better place for us considering the way we're playing right now.

I want to quickly assess that the Astros seem to be playing much better than previously. We only have 26 wins so far, but the Astros have done at least something to avoid being the butt of everyones' jokes. Astros (to my estimation) has the worst AL record while Miami has the worst in the NL and overall. I think as long as the Astros can keep playing hard and consistently playing winning baseball- $24M payroll and all, that's all that matters. You got to love José Altuve if you're an Astros fan. Dude stands all of 5'5" but carries the load of this Astros offense like a heavy-duty pickup truck. Things are looking up for the Astros. While they won't be a contender this season, can they keep up the optimism and consistency moving forward? There is still a lot of season to go.

Any other assessments or thoughts you want to share?

Harvey has lost his 3rd potential no hitter in the 7th inning or later this year. Utter joke that Duda doesn't cover the bag.

The Houston Astros routed the Milwaukee Brewers 10-1 tonight. Houston hung five on the Brew Crew in the 7th inning to really blow the game open. Carlos Peña and Matt Dominguez went yard for the Astros. Jordan Lyles picked up the win (he's 4-1 now) for us, and Milwaukee's loser was Alfredo Figaro (he's 1-1).

A few other games I want to chat about elsewhere...

* Mother Nature won against the Dodgers and Yankees. I think they'll play a split doubleheader tomorrow. I was kind of surprised this is just a two-game series for LAD and NYY.

* From Mile High to Toronto... not a good trip. The Blue Jays beat down the boys in purple 8-3. The Toronto Blue Jays play at the Rogers Centre, and Esmil Rogers (not who the stadium was named for) got the win. Francis lost for the Colorado Rockies.

* Fans at Fenway Park were pleased the Boston Red Sox get two wins over the Tampa Bay Rays. Aceves won for Boston while Archer took the loss for Tampa Bay in Game 1 of this Doubleheader. The second game saw Boston win 3-1. Bailey won for Boston in Game 2 of the double dip while Peralta picked up the loss.

* In the AL Central, it was Cleveland hosting Kansas City, and the Indians won 4-3 over the Royals. Allen won the game for the Tribe along with a Save from Pestano. K. Herrera lost for Kansas City.

* An unhappy day in MoTown- Baltimore's Orioles won 5-2 over the Detroit Tigers. Z. Britton won for BAL as J. Johnson got the Save for the O's. Justin Verlander took the loss for Detroit.

* After snapping their losing funk, Texas tried to start a new winning streak. Well, it didn't happen because Oakland won 6-2 in Arlington. J. Parker won for the A's while Yu Darvish took the loss.

* The Minnesota Twins won a furious battle against the Chicago White Sox 7-5 in Minneapolis. Burton finally gets a win (he's 1-4 now) and gets a Save from Perkins. Losing for CHW was Troncosco.

* Now to the National League. There was a doubleheader in Atlanta. The New York Mets won 4-3 over the Braves in Game 1 as Harvey won along with a Save from Bobby Parnell. Wood lost for Atlanta. The real story, however, was that Matt Harvey had a no-hitter going. That was broken up in the seventh inning. In the second game, the Mets won again. The second game ended up a 6-1 victory for the Mets. Wheeler picked up the win for the Mets while Maholm was the ATL loser.

* The Fightin' Phillies won 4-2 in Philadelphia hosting the Washington Nationals. Lee won for PHI along with a Save from J. Papelbon. The loser for the Nationals was Detwiler.

* How did Pennsylvania's other team do? Well, the Pirates sailed into Cincinnati to take on the Reds in NL Central battle. Pittsburgh did just fine- winning 4-0. Morton was the winning pitcher for Pittsburgh, and Mat Latos took the CIN loss.

* Midwestern hospitality was served up as the Chicago Cubs went into St. Louis to take on the Cardinals. The Redbirds, unfortunately, couldn't tame the Cubs as Samardzija won for CHC with a Save from Gregg. Adam Wainwright was the loser for STL.

Congratulations to all other winners of other games, including the eventual winners of:
* SD at SF
* SEA at LAA

[UPDATE] Walk-off jack by P. Goldschmidt! Arizona Diamondbacks win 3-2 against Miami! He's money in the bank for Arizona.

Yeah but you won 1 game also (going by EDT as you won at 1 in the morning here). Harvey pitched brilliantly but ran into a wall very quickly and he was taken out barely in time (although some calls were terrible in that game). 2nd game was a good (not Harvey-esque) debut for Wheeler. Recker finally hit a HR vs. a team not named the Pirates and then the comedy of errors when Varvaro came in sealed the deal. The "pinball" double off Varvaro's leg by Byrd was funny but then the errant pick-off throw and the subsequent throwing before you got the ball error by Upton opened the inning up for New York. They will promptly lose today but it was nice to see the future on display.

Yeah, Monday, Braves did come back to beat the Mets in the 9th. Tuesday was a double-loss for them.

Again, going by local time it was 3 decisions and they didn't play Monday with an outcome :dopey:.

We're going to end up losing todays game, I can feel it. Nobody seems to be able to score.

Edit: Or maybe not.

Edit 2: Or maybe so. Seems like Bell wants to give it away.

The Houston Astros led 1-0 for most of the game against Milwaukee, and we end up losing 3-1 to the Brewers. Milwaukee tied the game in the Top of the 8th and tack on two more insurance runs in the Top of the 9th to win. Damn. So it will be a Rubber Game on Thursday between former NL Central foes. Astros are now 27-45(?). Winning for MIL was Axford with a F. Rodriguez Save. Ambriz lost for my Astros. So another sad fail for my Astros.

Today, we won 7-4 over Milwaukee in 10 innings. Carlos Peña was our hero with a walk-off three-run homer that gave the Astros the win. When I first checked into the game, it was Milwaukee leading 3-0 in the Top of the 5th. So the Houston Astros took 2 out of 3 in this series.

So that was how the Houston Astros Baseball Club did today. How about your team(s)?

Pick a team John. They didn't beat both of them :lol:.

I don't know why I had Colorado stuck in my head! Milwaukee was ahead 3-0, and we won 7-4 in 10 innings over Milwaukee. Maybe I was hungry or a slight bit crazy. Still, Astros win.

Up next for the Astros is a quick three-game set at the Chicago Cubs starting tomorrow afternoon.

Mets take the five game series from Atlanta, 3 games to 2. I have no idea who they advance to play next :lol:. Satin with an RBI Double that turned out to be the game winner.

Marcell Ozuna, I want him on the Mets, pinch hits for Miami, gets 2 RBI hit to win the game against the Giants 2-1.

Here are some of the weekend series:
* Houston at Chicago Cubs
* Texas at St. Louis (Sunday night match)
* New York Mets at Philadelphia
* Tampa Bay at New York Yankees
* Cincinnati at Arizona
* Boston at Detroit
* Miami at San Francisco

I think the Rangers at Cardinals series is going to be a good one. Then too, don't count out the Boston at Detroit series.

Enjoy your weekend of baseball.

Going to the game on Saturday with free box seats and free catering. :D

Oh, and Corbin is pitching. :)

Nice! Hopefully the Reds can hand him his first loss, though. :sly: It's too bad Cueto is pitching tonight and not tomorrow. That would be an awesome match up. But Leake has been dealing this year, so the game tomorrow should still be a good one. 👍

A very long rain delay meant nothing as my Astros lost 3-1 at the Chicago Cubs. Garza picked up the win for CHC, and Gregg got his 11th Save. Dallas Keuchel picked up the loss for Houston. The Cubbies outhit us 10-4. Chicago made the game's only error. So we're stuck on 28 wins while the Chicago Cubs hit 30 wins. If "you are what your record is, then this HOU at CHC Interleague series (or NL Central family reunion) is a battle of two sorry-ass teams with sorry-ass records.

Enough about my Astros. Good job to everybody who didn't fail today or tonight.

How 'bout that game, huh? :D

And Goldschmidt, man. This guy better make the All Star game. If he doesn't, they really need to figure out a new format for deciding who makes it. On stats alone, he's in 100%.

Down 3-0, we won 4-3 on a three-run jack by J.D. Martinez. A bunt by Ronny Cedeño to get one Astro home ended up being just enough for the Astros to win the game. It's win #29 for the Astros as Sunday will be a Rubber Game. Two things about this series- the Cubs (and AT the Cubs) were the Astros' final series opponent last season in our final year in the National League and the NL Central. The other thing, Jim DeShaies used to be the Astros' analyst for televised Astros games. Since that game, DeShaies is now the analyst for the Cubs televised games. This is still quite the NL Central family reunion for the Astros.

Elsewhere, I saw how the Mets fared today at Philadelphia. PHI hung seven runs total on the Mets today heading into the Top of the 9th. The Mets came all the way back to tie the game 7-7. Then in the Bottom of the 9th, the Mets' hearts were crushed as the Phillies crushed the ball deep for a walk-off homer. That's baseball. I was thinking of our Blitz24 once his Mets went down today.

Congratulations to all other winners from today and tonight.
