When Bell blew the lead after Bruce hit his 2nd homer of the game, I was like :dopey:

Then when Chapman couldn't find the strike zone and subsequently blew the game back, I was like :grumpy:

And yes, you guys absolutely creamed us last night. Cueto finally showed vulnerability for possibly the first time all season.

After the most recent games, we still continue to show that we simply cannot beat teams with winning records.

Sox won today, too bad we need about another 10 straight of these to be .500

Better than the Cubs makes my day better.

Rays lost too, so my day is bad. Last hope is the Hawks.

I had a rare Saturday shift today, so I was bummed I was gonna miss the Fox baseball today....... then BAM, it's a rare night game, featuring the Cardinals & Rangers. Both teams I'm rooting for this year. If my boy Darvish was pitching, it would've been a perfect night, but still, Perez is having quite a night, not so good for the Birds. Oh, well. Just glad I got to see them tonight. 👍 Go Braaaves.

I saw the highlights of the CIN at ARI game on MLB Network's "Quick Pitch." Wow- what a game! Good job by the Diamondbacks. The Snakes are now 41-33 on the season after that wild win earlier today.

Rookie Jonathan Pettibone pitches brilliantly giving up one run over six innings, has tightness in his back and leaves at the start of the seventh with a 7-1 lead, bullpen promptly surrenders six runs. :ouch:

Papelbon racks up his third blown save in three opportunities, after having saved thirteen in a row.

Fortunately Kevin Frandsen comes off the bench with a home run for the walkoff in the bottom of the ninth.

Absolute bulls:censored: m:censored:f:censored:ing performance by the Astros, losing 14-6 at the Chicago Cubs. Astros better get their heads together quickly because our next series opponent will be the St. Louis Cardinals here in Houston.

Mets win 2 of 3 vs. Philadelphia. Harvtrain pitches magnificently yet again.

Well at least the Reds were able to salvage one win against the Diamondbacks. This could be a make or break time of the season for us, as we have a day off before playing a 2 game set at Oakland, off for one more day, 3 games at the Rangers, followed by a series against the Giants. Our bats and bullpen better be ready.

Misery loves company, right, R1600Turbo?

America's hottest team in Major League Baseball right now is... NOT an American team! Well, they play in the American League, but the team is in Canada, and... okay. It's the Blue Jays. They won what... 12 straight now? It's a team record for the 1993 World Series champs. This team is known as the Blue Jays, but they seem to be resurrected like the mythical phoenix. Toronto must have decided now is the time to answer the bell and just beat the other team in the ballpark. Good job by the Blue Jays so far.

Close, John. It is 11 straight, which is the equal frachise record. Off to Tapma to try and extend it. Given the Jays record at the Orange Juice Centre, I dont expect the streak to get much further.

Toronto failed last night in their bid for 12 straight. It was a 4-1 defeat in St Petersburg, FL as the Tampa Bay Rays took down the Blue Jays. So 11 wins... and no further.

Good luck to your team(s) with the new series. My Astros will have another NL Central family reunion as we're hosting the St. Louis Cardinals.

Wow... I saw the road trip the Arizona Diamondbacks have. Three games at Washington, three games at Atlanta, and four at the New York Mets. Dealing with the Braves will probably be the toughest test. The Nationals are surely tough. You have a death wish when playing at Atlanta. The Mets are pretty tough at home as well. I think the Snakes will be okay on this road trip.

My Astros are actually taking on a two-game series with St. Louis here in Houston. We're off this Thursday before starting a weekend series hosting the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in our next series (3 games). After that, the Tampa Bay Rays come to H-Town for a four-game set. That Rays series will conclude our homestand.

We got owned. Like, 13-5 owned. St. Louis just pounded out run after run early. The Astros' attempt to make a game out of it was like trying to catch a bus you missed. This is only a two-game series, and we'll meet St. Louis again on our next road trip- another two-game set.

Well, we (us Astros types) can't beat the Athletics since our AL move. They are certainly more talented than us, so playing to THEIR level isn't possible.

Astros will host the Angels this weekend for a three-game set after this brief STL at HOU series. Then after LAA, it is our final home series before the All-Star Break when Tampa Bay comes to H-Town for four games.

There are rumors that Thursday's start for Matt Garza will be his last with the Cubs. 4-6 teams are reported to have strong interest in trading Garza. Trade season could be starting early this year.

Well last night went just as I had hoped, all other NL West teams lost except for the Dodgers which don't matter at the moment since they are a ways back.

The Astros get a modicum of revenge as we won 4-3 tonight. Hanging four runs on St. Louis in the Bottom of the 4th put us ahead for good. Otherwise, we would have lost 3-0. For Houston, Bedard picked up the win and Veras got the Save. It was Lance Lynn who took the loss for St. Louis. We finally hit the 30-win mark.

Elsewhere...

* Toronto saw their 11-game winning streak snapped on Monday with a 4-1 loss at Tampa Bay. They then lost 5-1 to Tampa Bay Tuesday night. Wednesday night? The Blue Jays blanked Tampa Bay 3-0. R.A. Dickey picked up the win for Toronto while Robero Hernandez lost for Tampa Bay.

* Texas 8, New York Yankees 5. The Rangers put on quite a show in the Bronx against the Yanks. Both teams combined for 23 hits total (13 by TEX, 10 by NYY). Grimm was the winner for Texas with a Save from Nathan. Andy Pettitte was the losing Yankees pitcher.

* It was a happy day for Nicksflix's Tribe as the Cleveland Indians won 4-3 in Baltimore against the Orioles. The win went to Joe Smith and was complimented with a Save from Vinnie Pestano. For Baltimore, Jim Johnson was the losing pitcher for the O's.

* The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim were victorious in MoTown tonight, winning 7-4 in this Patrick vs. Joey D special. LAA saw Dane de la Rosa win for the Halos along with a save from Frieri. Losing on the Detroit side was José Alvarez.

* Arizona scored two runs in the first inning... and didn't do much anything since. Washington won 3-2, and the win went to Justin Zimmerman (now 11-3) and a Rafael Soriano Save. Wade Miley was the losing Diamondbacks pitcher.

* In Milwaukee, it was 5-4 as the Chicago Cubs took down the Milwaukee Brewers. Feldman won for the Cubs along with a save from Gregg. Yovani Gallardo was the losing Brewers' pitcher.

* The Miami Marlins brought the Minnesota Twins to their knees with a 5-3 victory in Miami. Miami's winners were Slowey and a Cishek Save. Diamond lost for Minnesota.

* The Oakland Athletics held serve at home with a 5-0 spanking of the Cincinnati Reds. A.J. Griffin picked up the win for the A's while the Reds saw Homer Bailey lose.

* The Pittsburgh Pirates made a LONG journey out to Seattle and won 4-2. Pittsburgh saw Mazzaro win along with a Save from former Astro Mark Melancon. The losing Mariners' pitcher was Furbush.

* The Colorado Rockies couldn't hang with the Red Sox at Fenway Park, losing 5-3 in Boston to Boston. Lackey won for Boston with a Save from Uehara. Former Astro and returning pitcher Roy Oswalt was the loser for Colorado.

* They needed 10 innings at Kaufmann Stadium, and the Kansas City Royals handled the Atlanta Braves 4-3 in extras. Your winning Royals' pitcher was Crow, and Alex Wood was the losing Atlanta pitcher (now 0-2).

* The New York Mets hit up U.S. Cellular Field on the south side of Chicago. Tonight, they shut out the White Sox 3-0. Marcum won for NYM with a Save from Mr. Bobby Parnell. John Danks was the losing pitcher for the White Sox.

Congratulations to the eventual winners of Philadelphia at San Diego and the Prosthetic vs. Villain special- San Francisco at Los Angeles Dodgers.

Now San Francisco is playing simultaneously . Think you mean San Diego, and by the looks of it Cole Hamels will fall to 2-12.

SF and CO both lost so far....yay. Need SD to drop that game. The more everyone else loses the more it'll help our losing road trip.

SD lost. Yay. ;)

It was an ugly win, but I'll take it. The Phillies scored two runs without a hit in the thirteenth, although John Mayberry hit a single after the scoring was over. Two errors led to the runs, on top of an error keeping a critical at-bat alive for Frandsen in the seventh.

I made the changes to my initial post. I may have to hire Blitz24 as my editor for my posts, since he's the first to spot my errors. Anyhow, my Astros are off today. They'll get ready to host the L.A. Angels of Anaheim this weekend for three games followed by a four-game set starting this Monday hosting Tampa Bay. It's our final homestand before the All-Star Break.

In discussing other players, I am surely sold on Paul Goldschmidt and what he's done for Arizona. I read he's from Delaware and played his college ball at Texas State (long known as Southwestern Texas State). If Arizona is going to be any kind of offensive threat, Goldschmidt has to be the man. If not Goldschmidt, then at least Jason Kubel. He's got to be that hero much like how Chipper Jones has been Atlanta's hero in clutch moments. It would be a terrible shame if he doesn't make the National League All-Star team.
