Texas coughed up their 2-run lead and let the Sox walk off. Texas didn't capitalize with RISP...hopefully they're not going into another slump.

'Specially since the World Series is going to be between the Braves and Oakland.
I'd have said the Braves, or likely the Dodgers from the National League......... after dropping three in a row against the Birds, now I'm not so sure. :(

Awesome win by the Red Sox today though!

Todays game is a shining example of the crap that is our season. Ridiculous.

Edit: what is with us in extremely long extra inning games this year?

Edit 2: hmmm, how many innings can we go...

Top of the 18th, Phillies choose Casper Wells over Cliff Lee. Good choice if you don't root for the Phillies. Wells gives up 4 runs which effectively ends his career as a last ditch option pitcher.

Wells went 0-7, gets the loss only pitching 2/3rds of an inning and surrenders 5 runs, 3 hits and 3 walks.

Did I hear "seven hours" from last night's ARI at PHI game? I know I read that this was one of the longest regular season games time-wise since 1989. It's surely the longest game for both teams. Arizona ended up winning that one... 12-7, I believe.

Of course, I still remember that World Series game here in Houston that went from about 7PM Central to about 2AM Central. Sadly, that was one of my Astros' losses as we got swept by the Chicago White Sox in the 2005 World Series.

Tonight's big game on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball is the Red Sox at the Dodgers. Enjoy your Sunday baseball!

Classified Results Pt. 1:

Milwaukee and Cincinnati are scoreless in the top of the second.

Colorado and Miami have broken their tie at the top of the second where two runs have come across the plate for the Rockies.

The other scoreless game is in the American League where Minnesota and Cleveland are both scoreless in the Middle of the Second.

In interleague play, Detroit is laying the early smackdown on the Mets where two runs scored in the first. They are currently at the top of the second with runners on first and second.

Washington and Kansas City is due up in a couple of hours.

Rangers trail the Sox 4-2. Again, RISP is an issue today. Then again, the Rangers have not done well at US Cellular Field the past couple of years.

At least the Orioles are beating up on Oakland 7-1.

Braves merely avoids a sweep(1 out of 4). Now I owe my boss some soda.

Watching Japan playing West in the little league championship now. Love these kids, but it's little intense this year. Japan down by one. :ouch:

We win the series, but not in a sweep. Toronto won 2-1 today over my Astros. Astros led 1-0 into the 9th. I wasn't comfortable with the Astros leading only 1-0 with a couble of Blue Jays on base. My fears were confirmed as TOR got in two runs with the Astros being unable to come back. This TOR at HOU series was a battle of last place in the AL East vs. last place in the AL West (and in Major League Baseball).

Up next for the Astros is a trip to U.S. Cellular Field to meet the Chicago White Sox, who beat Texas 5-2 today to win that series. Astros are now 15 losses away from 100! F:censored:ing yay!

Max Scherzer is going to win AL Cy Young. No question. That dude is a BEAST.

Yeah. It's a tough call for me. Scherzer, King Felix, and Darvish all have great cases.

How were you able to watch the game?

Going 19-1 is pretty impressive, and obviously I'm pulling for him, but I don't think Scherzer has a lock on it just yet.

And speaking of Scherzer, his RBI double yesterday was awesome. I know he has NL experience, but I always like seeing AL pitcher turn a good play like that.

Joey D
He's only the third pitcher to do that, I'd say that's pretty impressive. I know there are other stats so chill out.

If he was on a team like the Mariners he MIGHT have 10 wins.
Win/loss is the stupidest pitching stat to use in any argument

Good thing I'm not arguing anything then now, isn't it?

He said "any" argument. I think you were supposed to say "what if he did that for the Mariners then?". j/k

The Tribe was able to get 2 out of 3 from this weekends set against the Twins. We're still hanging in there @ 71-59, and still 6 games behind Joey's Tiggers who are @ 77-53. Still looking for help here.

The Tribe will have Monday off as we fly into Hot-Lanta to battle the Braves in a 3 game set. Then it's back up into the Motor City to square off with the Kitties.

Tough road trip ahead for the Tribe. :nervous:

Today's Tribe game had some special meaning for an 8 year old child suffering from cerebral palsy. Have a read ... pretty cool stuff. 👍

Rangers head to Seattle for 3, while Oakland heads to Detroit for 4. I'm expecting Detroit to do some major damage this series.

On the other hand, yay for 9pm start times for the first two games in Seattle. 👎

Matt Harvey torn UCL.

Out for rest of this year, could be out until 2015. Looks like that's when the Mets may compete, if at all.

Ouch. Sad news for the Mets.

Meanwhile... time to get some new series underway or finish any that may have lingered into Monday. My Astros will try to pick up whatever wins they can get as we'll be at the Chicago White Sox before coming back to Houston to host Seattle this weekend.

Good luck to all of your teams. Have a great Monday of baseball.
