Corbin having a day off I guess, gave up 4 runs in the 1st and 2 more in the 3rd, so he's just been pulled. Think I'll stay away and just check the final score when it's over. :indiff: Season over yet?

Poor Corbin. This is probably his last start of the season and the Dodgers chased him out of the game with 6 earned runs before he can make a seventh out.

That's an even 27.00 ERA for the night. Knocked his season ERA up to 3.17. For reference, it was 2.92 at the start of the game.

Did they lose two games today? Didn't think so. :(

That was the worst game I've ever been to, even by astros standards. Every player was flat except for Barnes.

100 M:censored:F:censored:ING LOSSES!!! And we did it without scoring a f:censored:ing run in our 100th fail of the season. Let's celebrate with a cake and a party. Yet again- we suck major ass! This is damned deplorable. Third straight season with 100+ losses. 50+ years of this franchise, and year #51 is the same old song and dance of a team that just gets deeper and deeper entrenched in failure. Something's got to change for anybody to really be excited for the Astros again.

Good job to everybody who didn't fail like my Astros did. (multiple expletives)!!!!!

Well the Astros made their way to 100 losses in spectacular fashion, a 10-0 blowout to the Reds. Leake cruised right along pitching 8 scoreless innings. And Jay Bruce hit RBI# 100 right on the nose with a grand slam in the 4th. Sorry you had to witness such an outing, ildd. And sorry, John.

Meanwhile, the Pirates took a loss, so we gained a game on them. However, as of the 7th inning, the Cardinals are also up by a score of 10-0 on their opponents, the Rockies. And Washington won their doubleheader, staying put 4.5 back for the second wild card. Sorry, a6m5.

This is basically a recap of the Astros season:
villar-butt-phillips-butt.gif

THAT WAS THE 4TH OUT OF THE GAME.

And, surprisingly I've yet to see Phillips' slide into home after getting called out(he was safe by about 57398 feet or seconds, whichever you prefer) but was called out because the ump wanted to move the game along. Have yet to see that replay, though.

The Rangers finally snapped their 7 game losing streak.

Ian Kinsler hit a leadoff homer to give the Rangers their first lead in their last 63 innings. And they never looked back...in fact, they piled on 6 more runs throughout the game. And Alexi Ogando had a good outing, even though he just went 5 IP. Unfortunately I didn't watch this one thanks to GTAV. :P

Maybe they're starting to turn around. Though, too little too late for the AL West. Wash might have had a meeting with the team...he said today that this collapse made him "fear for his job".

As if the 10-0 loss last night wasn't bad enough, the incident with HOU's Villar will be immortalized as the "Butt Tag." Countless sports shows have shown this. Some even compared this to Mark Sanchez's "Butt Fumble" in the NFL.

All I care about this season right now is for Houston just to finish this season. That's all they can do. One of my Facebook friends was talking about how the Astros are content with a low payroll but with high profit. Rebuilding is going to need to be quicker and with better results, because lots of fans here have even less patience with the direction the Astros have been in recent seasons.

Enjoy your Wednesday baseball.

Dodgers will attempt to close out the NL West while continuing to field Get Well Tour lineups. Last night, three starters were pulled early for Get Well Tour purposes once the blowout was clear (Kemp, Ramirez, and Gonzalez).

Tonight, in Getting Well:

*Crawford returns to the line-up after three days off.
*Hanley Ramirez gets to rest after a successful return last night.
*Juan Uribe gets the night off to rest.
*Michael Young gets to make his sixth start as a Dodger. Third start at 3B. (16 games as a Dodger)
*Stephen Fife is the starting pitcher to give the starting rotation an extra day of rest.
*Andre Ethier has been taking BP. He will return to field drills this weekend in San Diego. I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in the starting line-up next week.

The Tribe did not do so well in K.C. this time around. We were only able to get 1 out of 3 (game 3 still in progress - bottom of the 8th , 7-2 Royals).

Game one went to K.C. 7-1
Game two saw the Tribe come out on top 5-3
Game 3 ... noted above, more than likely will lose.

The A.L. Central pretty much is owned by Detroit now, 7 games back and just 9 games left in the season :indiff:. Congrats Detroit.

Glimmers of hope are still there for a wildcard, but we will be needing some help to get there. Here's hoping :nervous:

Up next, we come home and do battle with John's Astros for a 4 game set.

Good luck to your team(s) as we are rounding 3rd and coming home for that final stretch of the MLB '13 season.

Joe Blow Nathan... :grumpy: At least it's just tied.

And the Rays just walked off. Texas had runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top half of the inning. Do I even need to say it?

:banghead:

Astros have bases loaded, 2 outs, bottom 9th tied at 4 with the Reds. Marc Krauss up... lefty vs lefty.

That awkward moment when the only way to watch the astros game is through MLB Tonight...

Astros failed again. 6-5 to the Reds in 13 innings. So we get swept by one Ohio team. Up next, we're likely going to get swept by Ohio's other Major League Baseball team. Baseball gods still s:censored:ing on us as if we are being disallowed winning games and series ever again.

Up next... four-game series for my hopeless Astros at Cleveland. Yes- HOU at CLE for four.

The Phils put the first two batters on second and third in the bottom of the tenth while trailing 4-3 against the Marlins, but couldn't push a run across the plate. This was their 81st loss this season, guaranteeing they will not finish above .500 this season. With ten games left, it's reasonable to assume they won't even match last season.

Ryno however is four games over .500.

Los Angeles Dodgers are your 2013 NL West champions. R1600Tubro's Arizona Diamondbacks couldn't suppress the Dodgers on this day, as they failed 7-6 just now in Phoenix. Sorry for the Snakes.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are going to the Postseason, and you can add the Boston Red Sox to this postseason. They are your AL East champions for 2013. The Baltimore Orioles lost 3-1 at Fenway Park earlier tonight. The Red Sox saw John Lackey win for Boston, and Tillman was the losing pitcher for the O's.

And stop me if I've typed this before- the Astros lost! After 13 innings in their Wednesday loss at home to Cincinnati, it took Cleveland 11 innings to scramble the Astros' brains even more, losing 2-1 at Progressive Field in Cleveland. The Astros all of a sudden forgot how to win games. Either forgot how to win or forgot what winning feels like. Shaw was the CLE winner while Cruz was the losing HOU pitcher. The losing streak continues for Houston even though this season was already a lost cause a long time ago.

Elsewhere, let me touch on a few other unmentioned games...

* Today is "Talk Like a Pirate day." So the Pirates plundered plenty of booty by whipping some San Diego's booty 10-1 in Pittsburgh.

* The only scoring done in Flushing, NY was in the 4th inning. That's all they needed as the San Francisco Giants beat the New York Mets 2-1 today.

* After being roadkill yesterday at home, the Detroit Tigers came roaring back to beat Seattle 5-4. Seattle smashed Detroit 8-0 yesterday.

* Not a happy trip north of the border for the New York Yankees. They failed 6-2 at the Toronto Blue Jays.

* Colorado pounded out 21 hits while St. Louis put in 12. This game was eventually won by Colorado 7-6 in 15 innings.

* Boring Tropicana Field. A little bit crazy Texas Rangers squad coming to The Trop. The Rangers tamed the Tampa Bay Rays 8-2. It was a win for that devilish Yu Darvish. Taking the loss for the Rays was M. Moore.

* Bottom of the barrel match in the NL Central between Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers. The team that sucked less on this day was the NL Central last place Chicago Cubs, winning 5-1.

* The Astros are have the worst record overall. Worst record in the NL goes to Miami, and the Miami Marlins failed 3-2 at the Washington Nationals.

Congratulations to the eventual winner of Minnesota at Oakland.

Both the Reds and Astros blew multiple opportunities every inning in that game last night.

We should have probably taken the lead in the top of the 9th. Hamilton and Choo on 1st and 2nd. Phillips lays down a nice bunt, but for some reason runs way out of the base path and gets hit, leading to an out and sending the runners back. Then Votto comes up. Hamilton and Choo go for the double steal on the pitch. Votto swings anyway and flies out deep. The way Hamilton was running, it's pretty doubtful they would have thrown him out at 3rd if Votto hadn't swung. So instead of a chance for an RBI via a hit or sac fly by Votto, we end up with 2 outs and no runs. I can't remember what Bruce did afterwards in his at bat, but it was an out.

Anyway, Hamilton's speed has been absolutely insane. 4 steals in his first 4 career games (and he didn't even start any of those games). And now in his 1st career start, he goes 3-4, with 2 walks, 4 steals, get his 1st career hit (a double), and his 1st career RBI. Oh, and the last time a player stole 4 bases in his 1st career start was all the way back in 1920.

As for the postseason chase, the Cardinals lost today :D, but the Pirates won as well as the Nationals.

Rangers split the series in Tampa, by winning 8-2. Moreland, Andrus, and Rios all went yard in the 3rd inning to put Texas up for good. Darvish finally got that elusive 14th win, his first win since August 12th.

On to Kansas for 3.
