We failed again last night. This time, much closer- 5-2 in favor of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. This is now 10 straight wins for the Halos. They may damn well make it 11 if they beat my Astros later today and sweep this HOU at LAA series. Our nine-game, three-city road trip ends Sunday afternoon.

Congratulations to Saturday's other winners.

The Tigers beat the Indians 6-4 today. KC lost which means that the Tigers hold a 1.5 lead over KC in the AL Central. As of my posting (and again, subject to change) Oakland and KC hold down the Wild Card spots in the AL.

Double shot of bad news for the Angels. We beat the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 6-1 earlier today. Then, the Oakland Athletics won 4-0 at Seattle. Funny thing is that the Astros were somehow having a Perfect Game going in the 6th Inning. That was broken up after issuing a Walk. Then in the 7th inning, we gave up a hit to have the no-hitter broken up. The Astros still managed to win and avoid having the bottom fall out.

Up next... we're back home in H-Town tomorrow night to host the Cleveland Indians for a four-game set.

Congratulations to Sunday's other winners, including the eventual winner of the New York Yankees at the Baltimore Orioles.

Alright. Who do you guys have for ROTY and MVP for each league?

AL MVP: Trout
NL MVP: Stanton

AL ROTY: Jose Abreu
NL ROTY: Jacob deGrom

I kind of hope that Victor Martinez wins the AL MVP, but I think it'll be Trout. Stanton however I am set on for rooting for as NL MVP. And I can't really see any way that Abreu isn't the AL ROTY.

And the NL ROTY?

We are hosting the Cleveland Indians for a four-game set. The first of four resulted in an Astros victory- a 3-1 win over the Indians. This win was bitter-sweet, however, since McHugh had to leave the game in the 7th inning by taking a line drive shot to his forearm. I hope he'll be alright. This series is crucial for Cleveland, since they are in the AL Wild Card race. We have nothing to play for except spoiler. Still, the Astros cash in another win. Win number 67 (I believe) for the Houston Astros Baseball Club on the 2014 season.

Congratulations to all other winners from Monday. Way to not fail. And speaking of those who failed on Monday... better luck next time.

The Tigers won 8-6 today with back to back solo shots in the 9th. No ground was gained in the AL Central, however, because KC won today as well.

deGrom throws 13 Ks, strikes out first 8 batters to face him. Gives up 3 runs in 7 IP but the Mets lose 6-5. He has 134 Ks in 134.1 Innings this year.

Good news and bad news in Astros Nation. First, the good news. José Altuve made Astros history by surpassing [should have been in the Hall of Fame] Craig Biggio for most hits in a single season. He needed one to tie and two or more for the record. Altuve recorded his 210th and 211th hits to make history. Biggio had 210 hits in the 1998 season (the only 100+ win Astros team). The bad news? We failed to parlay the historic moment with a win tonight- we failed 4-2. Kluber was the CLE winning pitcher along with a Save from Allen, and Tropeano was the HOU loser. This four-game series is now 1-1. Tonight would have been sweeter if the Astros won. The only time I followed the score, it was 2-1 with Cleveland leading in the Bottom of the 5th.

Elsewhere...

* Congratulations to Baltimore on clinching the AL East! They smacked up Toronto 8-2 in Baltimore tonight.

* Congratulations to Washington on clinching the NL East! The Nationals won 3-0 on the road at Atlanta.

* AnthonyD1993's Detroit Tigers couldn't figure out the Minnesota Twins tonight, failing 4-3 in Minneapolis.

* The Chicago Cubs were flirting with a no-hitter through about seven innings hosting Dolph Drago's Cincinnati Reds. Jake Arrieta's no-hit bid was broken up by a deep drive by Brandon Phillips that found the ivy-covered walls. That was the ONLY good news for Reds fans, as they fell 7-0 at the Chicago Cubs.

* The Los Angeles Dodgers had to take their game a mile high when being hosted by Denver. They didn't elevate their game enough, because the Colorado Rockies won 10-4 against the Dodgers.

* San Francisco isn't afraid of the desert or snakes. The Giants took down R1600Turbo's Arizona Diamondbacks 2-1 in Phoenix.

* It was 4-0 in Pittsburgh at beautiful PNC Park as the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Boston Red Sox.

* It was "winner winner fish dinner" for Blitz24's New York Mets as NYM grilled the Miami Marlins 9-1.

Congratulations to all other winners from Tuesday.

[UPDATE] I updated the information to include Allen getting a Save for CLE. Arrieta, not Arietta. That was also edited.

At least KC failed as well with a 7-5 loss to the White Sox. Tigers still hold a 1.5 game lead in the AL Central over the Royals. At the moment, Oakland and KC hold the Wild Card spots.

The Tigers would have won that game if Carrera would have just let the ball come to him. If he did, it would have been a base hit followed by a double play that would have resulted in a Tigers victory. But that's how the game works- it isn't over till it's over, and the Tigers lost. Plain and simple.

The Astros fell again. This time, losing 2-0 to the Cleveland Indians. This CLE at HOU series will either be a split for the Astros or a series win for Cleveland depending on tomorrow's game. So we fell to 67-85 on the season. There's still a chance for the Astros to reach 70 wins before this season closes out.

* Though my Astros lost, it was nowhere near the loss the Dodgers had to take. The Los Angeles Dodgers got overrated 16-2 in Denver. There were 11 hits in the first inning alone by the Colorado Rockies. They rode that wave and smashed LAD with authority and absolution.

* Another sad loss for the Arizona Diamondbacks. The game was televised on MLB Network earlier today, and the San Francisco Giants plated two insurance runs in the 9th inning to down the Diamondbacks 4-2.

* The Chicago Cubs won 3-1 at Wrigley Field over the Cincinnati Reds.

* The Boston Red Sox got hammered 9-1 at the Pittsburgh Pirates.

* St. Louis defended home turf nicely against the Milwaukee Brewers with a 2-0 win.

* In Baltimore, the Baltimore Orioles won 6-1 over Toronto in a battle of former Houston Astros pitchers. It was former Astros pitcher J.A. Happ for Toronto going against former Astros pitcher Bud Norris for Baltimore. It was the O's that proved to be the better fowl in this match.

Congratulations to all other winners from the penultimate Hump Day of the regular season.

The Tigers lost 8-4 today which is made even worse by the fact that KC won. This makes the upcoming matchup with the Royals absolutely pivotal since the winner of this series will inherit the lead in the AL Central.

The Tigers didn't play today, but the A's losing today put them in the second Wild Card Spot at this moment.

Nine innings wasn't enough. So in 13 innings, the Astros failed again. Cleveland will leave Houston with a 2-1 victory and taking three out of four in this series. Astros were leading 1-0 for a good portion of the game. It wasn't until the Indians put up that run to help them win this game. Oh, and we've now lost three straight games for the first time since back in mid-late August.

Up next for the Astros, we got the Seattle Mariners for a three-game weekend set here in Houston. This may or may not be the final home series of the season for the Astros this season. Still, we'll do our best to entertain the Mariners, who have MUCH more to play for than us.

Congratulations to all other winners from Thursday, even if it took more than 9 innings to win the game.

As of the time of this post, the Los Angeles Dodgers are spanking the Chicago Cubs 14-3 in the Bottom of the 7th at Wrigley Field in Chicago.

This weekend is the penultimate weekend of the 2014 regular season. Time is running out if you want to make the postseason! Here are the playoff teams at present...

AMERICAN LEAGUE: Who's In!
* Baltimore (AL East Champions)
* Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (AL West Champions)

NATIONAL LEAGUE: Who's In!
* Washington (NL East Champions)

More games to go, more to gain. Get it together and make that push if you're team(s) is/are still in it! Unless your World Series consists of the Texas Rangers and the Colorado Rockies, just keep winning to build for the 2015 season.

Good luck to all of your teams this weekend.

The battle for the AL Central started off with a Tiger's 10-1 victory over the KC Royals. This put Detroit 1.5 games ahead of KC for the division lead.

Four-game losing streak. Our latest fail was a 10-5 defeat in the Houston Astros Baseball Club hosting the Seattle Mariners Baseball Club. The Mariners hung seven on us in one inning to pull away for good. This final homestand of the season (because we're not any playoff team) not going too well. So we'll play ball again tomorrow night with Dallas Keuchel dealing to Seattle.

Congratulations to all other winners from Friday's games, including the Detroit Tigers winning with authority at Kansas City among other games.

The A's just beat the Phillies 3-1. This is important because the victory keeps Oakland in an AL Wild Card Spot. Oakland holds down the first spot while KC has the second spot. KC is only a half game behind Oakland. However, Seattle is a half game behind the Royals. The three teams desperately need to win because losses this late in the year might knock them out of the playoffs.

The Tigers won 3-2 today and expanded the lead in the AL Central against KC to 2.5 games.

Last night, Seattle beat my Astros 10-5. We returned the favor tonight with a resounding 10-1 victory over the Seattle Mariners. Dallas Keuchel picked up the win for Houston while Chris Young took the SEA loss. Rubber Game tomorrow afternoon. Astros will try to get win No. 69 tomorrow afternoon in our final home game of the 2014 season.

Congratulations to all other winners from Saturday. Better luck next time to all losers from Saturday.

I saw this during the game today. I thought I'd share it because it's one of the oddest things that I've seen in a baseball game in a while. I think that what happened in the link I shared will need to be looked at by the MLB because it was a very odd situation that they should look at in the future in regards to the replay system.
