A couple of odd facts about that Sox/Brewers game is that the game was suspended after 18 inn and resumed the next day. Tom Seaver who was scheduled to start the game May 9th pitched the final inning of the May 8th game and was credited with the win after pitching 1 scoreless inning. He then started the next game going 8 1/3 3h,4r and was the winner in a 5-4 Sox win.

Two wins in less than 24 hrs! not a bad day for good ol' Tom. I had not idea he had pitched for another team after the Mets.

Note about the Tiger's loss last night- the Tigers traded Bobby Wilson to the Rangers just 5 days before that game. He proceeded to hit a grand slam for the Rangers in that Rangers victory.

Losing streak continues. But hey, at least they didn't royally suck against the Nats, so that's a plus.

Recently wrapped up... The Astros destroyed the Cleveland Indians tonight with a 7-1 victory. Mike Fiers picked up the win for Houston. Jason Kluber was the losing pitcher for the Cleveland Indians. Houston and Cleveland go at it again tomorrow night here in Houston to continue the series.

Congratulations to Monday's other winners, including the New York Yankees doubling up the defending champion Kansas City Royals in the Bronx. Oh, and happy birthday, Prince Fielder!

Add another name to the already extensive list of names that have gotten a PED suspension so far this season. KC Royals prospect Raul Mondesi just got 50 games after failing a test. The failed test reportedly came from him using a cold medicine containing a banned substance, and the 50 games came because he could show proof of the cold medicine containing the substance which dropped 30 games off the suspension list. Story here.

The Houston Astros have yet to win three or more games in a row heading into night. Three in a row will have to wait because the visiting Cleveland Indians beat the Astros 4-0. Rubber Game tomorrow afternoon. Getting the win for CLE was Trevor Bauer. On the losing end for Houston was Chris Devenski. We're now 13-21 on the season and still this season's AL West doormat.

Congratulations to Tuesday's other winners, including the Detroit Tigers handing the Washington Nationals a loss in Washington, D.C. Too bad my Astros couldn't be among the winners today.

THIS JUST IN...

Bryce Harper picked up a one-game suspension for his actions in the 9th inning ejection he got and during the celebration of a recent Washington Nationals' victory. So the guy who wants baseball to be fun again will have to sit in time out. Bad kids sit in time out. Anyhow, Harper plans to appeal.

Just ended recently...

Marwin Gonzales hits a walk-off two-run jack to take the series win. It was 5-3 as we won in 16 innings against the Cleveland Indians here in Houston. This game thankfully didn't go into 22 innings like once in 1989(?) for the Astros. Michael Feliz was the HOU winner, and Cody Anderson was the CLE loser.

Up next for Houston... no rest for the weary- it's on to Boston to take on the Red Sox for the weekend tomorrow.

Congratulations to Wednesday's other winners, including a win for the other Texas Major League Baseball team- the Texas Rangers.

That should have been a 3-game suspension at least. MVP players cannot act like spoiled brats when they don't like baseball rules. Leave it to the manager to argue balls and strikes with the umpires and learn your role in the team.

20 strikeouts for Max Scherzer. Among pitchers since 1913, Scherzer is only the fifth pitcher to strike out 20 or more batters in a single game. He tied the MLB record with 20 K's tonight and issued no walks. Complete game win as the Detroit Tigers fell 3-2 at the Washington Nationals. Scherzer got the win for WAS. Jordan Zimmerman got the loss for DET.

As the kids would say, "cool story, bro." This surely is a cool story. Not so much if you're a Detroit Tigers fan, though.

3-2 loss to a historic outing and two aces that were on it all night? That's an acceptable loss to me.

Even as a Tiger's fan, I can appreciate what Scherzer did. 20 K's in a game is amazing.
Even as a Met fan (despise the Nats) I do appreciate that performance. He even threw his last no-hitter against us :banghead:

Well...after the washout yesterday, the Reds' bullpen did their usual tonight. Simon left the game with a 4-3 lead. Cingrani made sure the Pirates tied it, and Ohlendorf made sure they won it. Reds fail 5-4.

The Braves ended their 11 game home losing streak tonight beating Philadelphia 5-1. Williams Perez held the Phillies to 2 hits over 8 innings.

Well, it seems like the Met pitchers are picking up the slack from the hitters this series. Noah Syndergaard allowed only 2 runs, struck out 6 in 8 innings pitched AND hit TWO home runs! One of them a 3-run 400 footer to dead center field! Thor laid out the hammer last night, and our hitters should take notice and start swinging to friggin' bats.

Noah Syndergaard 4 - 3 Dodgers the final score. We remain at 0.5 ahead of the Nats for 1st place in the NL east.

Ownage. Deluxe. With large fries and a large drink and a kid's toy. That's what my Astros suffered tonight in their 11-1 demolition at Fenway Park. The Red Sox's winning pitcher was David Price. My man Dallas Keuchel was sadly Houston's losing pitcher. The Red Sox have now won five straight games.

Congratulations to all of Thursday's winners.

A huge series for the Buccos starts today at Wrigley. The Cubs have started out of their minds so far and have built a 7 game lead in the Central. Another performance like they had at PNC with 18-27 lead-off hitters reaching base and a sweep could wrap up the division for them depending how the Cards do vs LAD. The Bucs need to win at minimum 2 of 3 to keep pace.

José Reyes of the Colorado Rockies got suspended by Rob Manfred (the Major League Baseball Commissioner) up to May 31 for his domestic violence incident last October allegations against him. Reyes will not appeal.

The Cubs will cruise this season and finish first place but will fall quickly in the playoffs due to their lack of experience.

I don't know how the hell it happened, but we somehow won tonight after Boston hung a bunch of runs on us early. 7-6 was the score tonight at Fenway Park as the Houston Astros took down the Boston Red Sox. So this four-game series is 1-1. Scott Feldman picked up the win for Houston and got a save from Luke Gregerson (his 8th of the season). Matt Barnes was the losing Boston pitcher.

Congratulations to Friday's other winners, including wins by both of Chicago's Major League Baseball teams.

Weather (or other factors) notwithstanding, the Sunday Night match this week is the St. Louis Cardinals at the Los Angeles Dodgers. So the National League will be in vogue and on display tonight. Pitching probables for this one is Mike Leake (STL) vs. Alex Wood (LAD). The Dodgers have a chance to sweep the Cardinals.

Enjoy some Sunday baseball, GTPlanet.

Jake Arrieta showing the Bucs his outstanding control of his fastball.🤬

If someone made a parody to "All I do is win" and changed it to "All I do is lose", it would describe the Tigers season perfectly.

Well, at least the Detroit Tigers aren't the Minnesota Twins or the Atlanta Braves. So it isn't that bad. The Tigers did knock off the Orioles 6-5 today in Baltimore. DET's winner was W. Saupold with a save from Francisco Rodriguez, and BAL's loser was Darren O'Day.

Now for my Astros. And... we're stuck on 15 wins after having lost 10-9 at the Boston Red Sox. We must think 15 wins will get us to the postseason. It was Heath Hembree who won for Boston and got a Save from Craig Kimbrel. For the fail-happy Astros, our loser was Scott Feldman.

Congratulations to the other Sunday winners, including Pittsburgh cooling off the hot Chicago Cubs.

A terrible brawl in the Rangers-Blue Jays game. Rougned Odor sucker punched Jose Bautista after Joey Bats went in hard to break up a double play. Full brawl ensued after.

Odor clocked him good, but I'm not sure if I'd call it a sucker punch since he was looking right at him and Jose looked to be drawing up a punch of his own before he got hit. Bautista definitely looked dazed after that hit. Odor for sure is going to be suspended, and Bautista may too as well for the slide, but I won't be shocked if he goes to the concussion DL first after eating that punch.

I was looking at the Associated Press website with a video from MLB.com showing the brawl. I saw that slide Bautista put on 2nd base. Man- Rougned Odor may have a future in boxing or MMA (or maybe pro wrestling) with that bomb he dropped on José Bautista. Fines, suspensions, and all that stuff are likely going to result from all of this. On a different note, I got to try to properly pronounce "Rougned" thanks to the announcers.

Another game I wanted to touch up on... Dolph Drago's Cincinnati Reds did good in Philadelphia, winning 9-4. I even saw a highlight on MLB Network of Cincy robbing Philadelphia of a home run. Cincinnati's win was a combination of Dan Straily picking up the win and getting a Save from Tony Cingrani. It was Adam Morgan for Philadelphia that was the losing pitcher.
