Mets lose 2 out of 3 to Washington after 2nd straight blowout. This one was 9-1 as Matt Harvey continues to struggle this year.

We lost our last game 2-1 at the Chicago White Sox. Now, we lost 2-1 vs. the Texas Rangers. Yay for back-to-back losses! Keeping the Astros as the AL West doormat were Colby Lewis winning for TEX and getting a Save from Sam Dyson. Lance McCullers was HOU's loser. Suit up and play ball again tomorrow night.

Congratulations to Friday's other winners.

Glad I didn't watch tonight's Reds game. Straily pitched 6 solid innings, leaving with a 3-1 lead. Blake Wood comes in for the 7th inning, allows back-to-back singles, followed by 2 consecutive walks to bring in a run. He records no outs and in comes Cingrani. He proceeds to hit the next batter with his first pitch. Tie game, Straily loses his chance at a win (not that there was any chance of him getting one with this 🤬 bullpen anyway, but I digress). He K's two before allowing a 2 run single to Dae-Ho Lee (who???). We only get out of the inning after we catch Lee in a rundown, and Cano gets thrown out at home trying to pick the Reds' pocket. The misery still isn't over though. JC Ramirez allows a run in the 8th. And finally, big Jumbo Diaz (who was recalled from the minors just a couple of days ago after being sent down earlier for crappy pitching) allows two monster home runs (one of them being Lee again) in the 9th.

So while the Reds were actually up 3-0 after 5 innings, they ended up getting stomped (thanks the the bullpen...per usual, and not being able to score in late innings...per usual) 8-3. Pitching lines? Straily: 6 innings, 1 ER. Bullpen: 3 innings, 7 ER. I simply cannot fathom how a bullpen can be SO bad that they give up multiple runs Every. Single. Night. I just can't wrap my mind around it. I'm pretty sure you could pull some random fans from the crowd every game and they couldn't pitch any worse. Hell, I probably can't hit 40 mph with my noodle arm, and I imagine I could probably accidentally get one person out.

Oh, and our starting pitchers continue to drop like flies. After it looked like he might be back soon a few weeks ago, Homer got transferred to the 60 day DL. Not sure on Iglesias' status. He supposedly played catch today (whatever that means). Adleman was put on the 15 day DL after straining his oblique last night. Lorenzen was scheduled to throw a 40 pitch bullpen today (not sure if he did or not). Moscot got rocked for 9 runs in 4 innings in his second rehab start tonight in Louisville. And DeSclafani threw a 45 pitch bullpen earlier today. Good. God.

:banghead::boggled:🤬:ill::indiff::irked::mad::ouch::scared::grumpy:

Dang... you Reds can't catch a break. If the bullpen is THIS bad, starting pitchers may have to play more complete games to pick up the slack for the bullpen. Sorry about the loss. As they say (since my Astros lost)... misery loves company.

Go figure. The one game our bullpen doesn't get scored on is one in which our offense gets blanked. 4-0 loss today. That makes 6 straight losses.

Michael Fulmer had a good showing for the Tigers and struck out 11 today. Justin Wilson decided that he wanted to be a bullpen pitcher and tried to choke away a 4 run lead. Luckily for us it didn't happen as the Tigers beat the Rays 5-4. The Rays lost more than the game because they lost Kevin Kiermaier with a fractured left hand in the game as well. I hope he can quickly recover from that.

It was 2-0, Texas on Friday; and now 2-1 tonight with the Rangers winning again. So the Rangers are now one win away from sweeping my Astros AGAIN this season. Winning tonight was César Ramos for TEX and a Save from Sam Dyson. Getting burned was Mike Fiers for HOU. Can we FINALLY beat Texas tomorrow afternoon? Oh, and we're now back ten games under .500 (17-27).

Congratulations to the other winners from Saturday, including the likes of Minnesota and Atlanta somehow learning how to win again while my Astros continually make 2015 seem like a fluke season.

What the f:censoreed: is wrong with my Houston Astros? Texas remains undefeated against my Astros with a 9-2 return to reality for my Astros. Dallas Keuchel couldn't lose at home last season. He ends up being the HOU loser while Cole Hamels got the win for TEX. God forsaken shame. We need to get it together and remember how to win games. WIN, not fail. And not with regularity. This bulls:censored: needs to f:censored:ing stop for m:censored:f:censored:ing real.

Up next for Houston... we'll probably find a way to get swept when the Baltimore Orioles come to H-Town.

Congratulations to the other winners from Sunday. If your team failed like my Astros (again), better luck next time. Hopefully.

Tigers beat the Rays 9-4 but lost Zimmerman and Miggy in the process. Zimmerman was taken out with a strained groin, and Cabrera is day to day after getting hit in the knee by a pitch.

My Redlegs lost again today, this time 5-4, with the Mariners completing the sweep. Losing streak up to 7 games. But hey, the bullpen somehow managed to go consecutive games without giving up a run. Now if only they could do that when we have the lead...

As for our Reds and Astros...as they say, misery loves company. :)

The Yankees are slowly pulling themselves out of the gutter that they started this 2016 season in. They have won 5 in a row and are 7-3 over their last 10 games. At 21-22, they are tired for second place in the AL East. Granted, there are two teams tied for first place, so being 5.5 games back isn't great, but it had been a damn bit better than where they were.

I think it was Michael Wilbon of ESPN's "Pardon the Interruption" in which he mentioned the New York Yankees can return to good graces by being 6-1 or so in their next seven games. By virtue of that, the Yanks have helped their cause substantially at this point. Who knows? Surging Yankees coupled with screw-ups by the rest of the AL East could put the Yanks atop the AL East.

It's still very early for everybody. The champion isn't determined in May.

Mets swept away the Brewers as they look to inch closer to the division lead with a 3 game tilt against Washington in the capital beginning tonight.

The city of Arlington and the Texas Rangers are apparently close to a new stadium deal, local sources are reporting. It would be a new retractable-roof stadium that would cost both the city and the team an estimated $1 billion, and would keep the team in Arlington until 2054. The city will keep their end of the deal by keeping around the half-cent sales tax hike that was used to pay for AT&T Stadium, a move that would have to be approved by voters Nov. 8.

A press conference for local officials has been called for Friday at 1:30pm local time.

Heads up! MLB Network is showing the Cincinnati Reds at the Los Angeles Dodgers. Since it's a Dodgers' broadcast, that means the fabulous Vin Scully is on the call.

As for the whole Texas Rangers deal on that new ballpark, its details and features are very fascinating. Not sure why they'd want a new stadium when they have an already great stadium (unless they feel it's aging).

Who in the world (or on MLB Network) decided this was a good idea? I guess they want people to see the big market teams get a "gimme" win every once in a while. I don't even plan on watching it.

A) Is Cincinnati a big market anymore?
B) Now we get to see their amazing bullpen broadcasted to the world!

Well to be fair, my Houston Astros have been featured at times on MLB Network, and we're not much better than the Reds. We only have a few more wins this season than the Reds (I think HOU has 17 wins while CIN has 15 heading into tonight). I will surely tell you the city of Houston is in the same boat of sports futility as Atlanta and Cleveland.

Speaking of my Astros, we've got the day off but will start a series vs. Baltimore tomorrow here in Houston. So we get to see everyone else beat themselves into submission while we get ready for our next game. Congratulations to all of the winners from Monday's games.

Poor Finnegan. He pitched 8 innings of 1 run ball. Unfortunately he squared off against Kershaw whom the Reds could only muster 2 measly hits off of. 1-0 loss for the Redlegs. Still stuck on 15 wins after now 8 straight failures...

...and now some more scores after the sad news for Cincinnati (or great news for Los Angeles Dodgers):

* So the Cincinnati Reds lost 1-0 at the Los Angeles Dodgers. How did the other Ohio team do? Well, the Cleveland Indians won 5-1 at the Chicago White Sox. It was Cody Anderson picking up the win for CLE while Erik Johnson took the loss for CHW.

* Let's stay in California and talk about another team- the San Francisco Giants. It was the same score as the CIN at LAD game: 1-0, with San Francisco defeating San Diego. Former Cincinnati Red Johnny Cueto was the winner for SF while Brad Hand was dealt a bad hand by taking the loss for SD.

* The New York Mets spanked the Washington Nationals 7-1 in Washington, D.C. It was Bartolo Colon picking up the win for NYM. Gio Gonzales was the loser for the Washington Nationals.

* Fans in MoTown were all smiles as the Detroit Tigers defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 5-4 at lovely Comerica Park. Justin Wilson was the winner as Francisco Rodriguez got the Save for Detroit. For the losing Phillies, Colton Murray took the loss.

* Sunshine State showdown. Getting the better end of Tampa Bay at Miami were the Miami Marlins, winning by a football score of 7-6. For Miami, the winner was David Phelps along with a Save from A.J. Ramos. The Tampa Bay Rays' losing pitcher was Erasmo Ramirez.

* Patrick's Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim won at Sanji Himura's Texas Rangers 2-0. The Halos won with Nick Tropeano and a Save from Joe Smith. The loser for Texas was Derek Holland.

* And finally in the aforementioned Cincinnati at Los Angeles Dodgers game, it was Clayton Kershaw picking up the win for LAD while Brandon Finnegan took the loss as the Reds fell 1-0 at the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Congratulations to all other winners from Monday, including St. Louis' late two-run jack to defeat the visiting the Chicago Cubs.

Two reasons why the team wants a new stadium and one for the city. One is that it is indeed aging. That ballpark opened during the 1994 season to replace Arlington Stadium, which was around since 1971 when the team moved from Washington DC to Dallas. (to put it into comparison, the Dallas Cowboys are also on their second stadium, AT&T Stadium, but that opened more recently.) Second of all it concerns the weather. As you may be aware, Texas has one of the hottest and unpredictable summer seasons on record, but Globe Life Park is the only MLB stadium in the southwest that I am aware of that has an open roof. Having an open roof would be more of a benefit to fans more than anyone.

As for the city, they have been trying for years to revitalize the area as an entertainment hub. You have AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Park, Six Flags over Texas, and Hurricane Harbor within blocks of each other. Investing half of the new stadium's price tag would certainly go a long way in getting it done.

The city council meeting to approve the necessary ordinance to get the stadium on the ballot happens tonight. I'll keep you posted.

Harvey maybe to the DL after another bad start. Either that or skipped start/demotion. My fear is he has burnout.

The Houston Astros Baseball Club welcomed the Baltimore Orioles, and we ended up winning 3-2. We needed 13 innings to settle this one, though, after nothing was settled after nine innings. Carlos Correa was the hero with an RBI single. Your winner for Houston? Mr. Michael Feliz was your winner. Baltimore's losing pitcher was Dylan Bundy. Suit up and go tomorrow night to continue the series.

Congratulations to Tuesday's other winners, including the Pittsburgh Pirates destroying the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks and the horrible dark gray uniforms of theirs.

Verlander and Hellickson put on a show yesterday in the Tigers/Phillies game. Detroit wound up winning it 3-1. Verlander went 8 innings and had 10 strikeouts and no allowed runs. Hellickson went 7 with 7 strikeouts and 3 allowed runs, but to be fair, 2 or the 3 shouldn't have happened because a poor fielding decision led to a hit that should have been called an error. Had it been properly played, it would have probably been a double play.

Matz and Roark put on a show today but it was Steven Matz with the masterpiece finisher. Matz went 8 innings, 0 runs, and 7 Ks as the Mets win 2-0. Matz has now went 7 straight appearances with a win and if you remove his disastrous first outing, is 7-0 with an ERA of 1.13.

Meanwhile, here in Houston...

It was 4-3 here in Houston as the Houston Astros picked up another win against the visiting Baltimore Orioles. Back-to-back wins for the 'Stros. Pat Neshek got the win for Houston as Luke Gregerson picked up the Save for Houston. On the losing end for Baltimore was Tyler Wilson.

Congratulations to Wednesday's other winners, including the Texas Rangers scoring runs on the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim like it was target practice.
