WAS part of the game aspect. So many features have been lost, trying to supplant them with wings and paint chips instead of whole RM conversions and engine modifications, took that aspect away.

There isn't much to earn when I can buy each of the 300 cars in my garage, a fully tuned suspension with one win, when I have a 200% login bonus.

Just my opinion though.
A point that most people never consider:tup:. When you have a game economy with massive payouts in some races that allow you to buy dozens and dozens of cars after just a few minutes of driving, it becomes kind of silly talking about "earning" your garage when just a few hours of driving will get you just about anything you want except for the highest priced cars, and even then that's just a few more hours away.

This is why I advocate for separating the career mode from the rest of the game if the player chooses to do so. A career that is engaging and challenging surrounded by an economy that makes sense can be a lot of fun, but the online only or just casual player needs to be more accomodated IMO, with a more sandbox approach to the game.

So many narrow minded people in this forum.

Having all cars available from the start will not change the game at all for people who enjoy progression and collecting cars. They can still start the game with a slow car and work their way up. If they need the game to be locked and force them to play the game in a specific way in order to have a sense of accomplishment then it's not a matter of game design, it's a matter of player mentality.
In GT6 I drove the Peugeot 908 LMP, X-Bow, SLS GT3 & GT-R GT3 on my first day in arcade mode, even before playing career mode. I also drove the Huayra, Audi R18 & HSV GT500 on my first day, before playing career mode since I got the Anniversary Edition. I'm pretty sure the fact that I had access to fast expensive cars from the start didn't ruin other people's experience with GT6.

People need to grow up and understand that in order to be successful the game needs to be fun to as many people as possible. Making a game that caters only to people who have no life and enjoy grinding is simply bad game design. Believe it or not there are some people who want to spend their time racing their favorite cars against their friends, the game should be fun for those people too.

Maybe if you run online you can use a "rental" of any car - but it will be sad and tired. Bashed up, all kinds of dirt and grime on the seats and surfaces.

A two week rental of any car may be a neat idea, to let you try that silly expensive car before you sink 20 races worth of Kaz Credits to buy that you may not enjoy or want to drive again.

GT6 having every car on tap took some of the Japanese quirkiness out of the game.

Here's my my rental car idea that I posted on another forum:

When entering any career/online/seasonal race there would be a "rent a car" option, any car that's eligible for the event would be available for rent, but only in its stock form with no option to do any type of customization. The catch is that at the end of the race the player would get only half of the payout.

I would say they should have it so more cars are made available as you progress through the licenses. Wishful idea and a stretch of one, at that, but as much as I don't want to grind for the max cost cars, there needs to be some form of unlocking the cars and not a complete availability of the car list from the start (even if we are only asking for them to be unlocked in "Arcade Mode").

My definition of Grinding:

Going through the career mode, earning money from races to buy mods and cars.

However the grinding I've now discovered is reprating races in order to gain a car. In general, if it's a very special car then I think it's ok however it shouldn't need a stupid amount of grinding plus if the racing is good then I don't really see the issue.

For example, it wasn't a problem in Driveclub to grind and win the LaFerrari because the racing was fun and you never seemed to get irritated by doing it.

I still say the rule of buying your cars must stay. Although some conditions must change such as: Allowing the home garage in Arcade, better balancing of the economy system along with car costs etc

No ones forcing them to but if they dont want to why they playing the game?
"No one is forcing you" is not good criteria for game design. They play because they enjoy the game obviously. If you could have your career and your grinding, and I can have all cars from the start then everybody wins right? Your career and grinding is in no way affected by the way I play the game is it?

you had no problem doing first time around? so what's the problem doing it again? plus you have seasonal events, so its not like you have to do the same races.

personally love grinding, its a chance to try out other cars i couldn't buy when i first started and once im done i can buy another race car or road car and go racing online with it.

I don't even grind that much. I think career racing is actually pretty fun. Grinding for credits the fun out of GT6 for me, I's rather actually race.

You hit the nail on the head. You "personally love grinding". I do not, and many others do not. Does it makes sense to make those users look to other games that don't require grinding, or to try and accomodate everyone, without comprimising anyone?

Not sure what you mean about first time around. I've never grinded in any game. In GT5 I used the rubber band trick to generate cash which required no input from me, I just left the game running and the money flowed in. Then the SSR11 glitch rolled around and in a week of doing that I had every car I needed and never looked back. In GT6 it was the VGT glitch, had 400 cars and $50Million just by pushing buttons for a couple of hours.

Seasonal events are grinding to me. They offer no challenge + the worst AI in all of racing simlulation on any platform. The only reason to do them is for the money and that is the very definition of grinding to me.

Not everybody enjoys doing unrealistic catch-up races against an unbalanced car grid & bad AI drivers. Believe it or not some of us actually enjoy doing proper realistic races against other human players, it makes no sense at all to have to play a portion of the game we don't like before being able to do the things we like.

....Oh man this thread again? I thought it slinked off to the inky black depth of GTP long time ago.

PCars are just around the corner, isn't it. I saw the car list. It's......threadbare, to be honest.
If it just had a more substantial variety of car manufactures....
PCars can go down the route of having all cars available from the get-go because of its smaller car set, isn't it.

Hah, imagine, Kaz is trying to force you into buying a Fit or a Miata, or a Skyline, but if you have all the cars unlocked from the beginning, NO ONE will drive them!!

And that renders the half of cars in the game nothing more than (digital) paperweight, ain't it.

Well thats the way it is, you've played the game, so move on to another if thats how you feel.

Not really. FM4 had almost 700 cars and all of them were available from the start in free play mode.

Why? Instead one can post their desires and have GT improved as a result.

...There's your caveat - so if all cars are available in arcade mode you will be happy then, right?
So long as arcade mode basically becomes a sandbox. GT (any racing game really) needs to accommodate the collectors and the racers. In GT, the former have GT Mode. The latter have never been given much of anything. Having a mode for each means no one needs to step on the other's toes and everyone is happy.

so if all cars are available in arcade mode you will be happy then, right?
Yes. It's kind of stupid to have 1200 cars in the game but make only 20 of them available as arcade mode courtesy cars.
Making all cars available as courtesy cars online would be good too, with an option for host to block courtesy cars and limit car selection to career garage only. In that way everybody is happy and will be matched with similar minded players.

Random question....

Have all the people who are vouching for 'All Cars Available At The Start' played let's say any of the PS1 and/or PS2 GT titles?

Same question to the people saying no to such.

....I get your points, fellas. Question though, is, does Kaz get it too? :mischievous:
You want my answer? Maybe he does. Will he do it? From where I stand, no.

....{too much work, you see.}
