And wasn't snake fully naked in one game? And my point is that this soft tease shouldn't affect the game.

It's just a bit of an immersion breaker for a lot of people. Considering she's designed to hit you in the eye, it's very much a love it or hate it design. It's a shame, because she could have been just as sexy in a form fitting bodysuit, and that could have been appropriate attire for a sniper.

Maybe he has good reasons. I suspect said good reasons will have been created in order to explain her dressed like that, not that the storyline required that the character be scantily clad. But we'll see.

This is so much better than the Quiet now :

Maybe we can customize and change outfits, that will be great.

Maybe the bathing suit is for one part of the game and later in the game she would wear a outfit like sniper wolf.

A bit worried to see guns with fake names... Please tell me they aren't going fantasy guns on us :nervous:...
Many of them look very similar to real guns, but are either slightly altered or just extremely modified.

Some people said there's a SG550 in it. I checked the pics and I really can't tell if that thing is just a heavily modified SG550 with some alterations or if it's a massively modified 551 LB with some alterations.

I guess they took some real guns as inspiration and then relatively freely modeled their own versions of them.

Those people must've mistaken the SAR-80 for a SG550 :).
But even then. it goes by a different name in the current version of the game.

It's still to early to tell, as they might still be obtaining licensing rights to use the real names. But for me at least, it would be a huge letdown if the guns went fictional. I've been spoiled by MGS4's massive list of super detailed guns.

The Metal Gear series has always had completely fictional weapons (Fortune's rail gun, the Nikita) alongside the real ones, they've also had some completely 'out there' sci-fi stuff too (Metal Gears as a concept, nanomachines keeping people alive when they should be extremely dead), so I'm honestly not bothered if they start using fake names for the guns in MGS V. I'm more bothered by the regenerating health (assuming it's simplified from how it was in MGS 3 and 4) and slow-motion mode when you're spotted... I trust that second one will be optional, though.

Doesn't look like a SAR 80.

More like a SG 551 LB: (img)

Ohh, didn't see that one. I was thinking about the "Type 69" shown in the gameplay footage, which IMFDB classifies as an SAR-80.

I assume that regenerating health was going to work just like MGS4. You stop and rest for quite a while. Hopefully, they won't go the modern FPS way of doing it... Also second the notion of slow mo being a no go. Hate it when games do that to make it easier for the player.

X1 demo version night and day footage. Daytime starts at 14:23

I can only assume both PS4 and X1 demos were running from a PC, until official word from KojiPro comes out.

I think that the slow motion would be adjustable based on difficulty, for example, 10+ seconds on Easy to off in Extreme.

I understand what Kojima is after with the slow motion though. They are after the effects of old movies like Predator and, in a distant second, Jurassic Park. You don't see the entire picture, so the slow motion is like your battle instincts.

Phantom Pain map to be 300 times larger than Ground Zeroes map.

metalgearsolid.nl/
The map size of Ground Zeroes in Metal Gear Solid V will be about 1/300 the size of the area found in The Phantom Pain section.

Kojima has said before the areas in The Phantom Pain will be much larger, with Ground Zeroes serving as a prologue to give players a chance to adapt to the new open world aspect of the game. But this seems to suggest the areas will not only be larger, they will actually be huge. It is unclear wether Kojima is talking about individual areas here, or all locations added together.

Jesus. I know they're small images which hides a lot of the tell-tale game signs but that is seriously impressive.

As for the overall size let's just hope it's not like GTA V, bigger but many areas containing a whole lot of nothing.

Konami has announced a release window of Spring 2014 for Metal Gear Solid V prologue Ground Zeroes.

Series creator Hideo Kojima also further details the link between Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which is likely to be out later next year.

Ground Zeroes consists of one mission - a Cuban rescue mission - that has been extensively demoed this year, including at Tokyo Game Show in September. It will be out on PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360 next Spring. In the UK it will cost £19.99 on the older platforms and £29.99 on PS4 and Xbox One. In the US, it's considerably cheaper at $19.99/$29.99 respectively.

So they are two separate games with different release windows, Ground Zeroes being cheaper than usual since it's so small.

I'm really not sure what the point of that is. Do Konami need a game of some sort released before the end of this fiscal year? Otherwise I don't know why you'd release them like this.

It's a demo, Kojima wants the players to feel the change from linear to open world games, but 20$ is too much.

I'm not saying I won't buy it, but more than one stage would have been nice

Equivelent of $32 for us in the UK. I get that he wants us to adapt but no reason we couldn't do that with them both on the same disc, ala MGS2. I suspect it is just because they want a game out before late next year, when V will be ready.

It's to much for a demo. Demo should be free like all demos are, or at least added to some other game, like Last of Us was added to God of War. Ill wait for full game. By the way, trophy's for this game should be sick, even harder than in MGS 4. Ill hope :)
