Dat CQC

C-C-C-C-Combo-Breaker!

Hate to burst bubbles here, but that really doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things. Sure, it is at least one year away, but there could be delays, but Kojima isn't known for that sort of BS.

And it only says DLC, not THE PHANTOM PAIN.
Yes but if you think about it it kinda makes senses. They have said that if we pre-order the game we got exclusive content that we will be able to use on The Phantom Pain, that is what the page above is showing to you. Someone already registered the game on their website and now we have to wait until the other full game releases to redeem it.

DLC is rarely launched with a title. It usually comes a few months later, to encourage re-plays.
You still don't get it. The DLC isn't for GZ; it's redeemed through GZ (as shown in the screencap) and then it activates in TPP once that's released. KOJIMA doesn't intend to make DLC for GZ because that means delaying TPP which he said he wouldn't do.

IGN gave GZ an 8.0, with their only real criticisms being that the action-based side missions are forgettable and that the ending of the story is a little excessive, with the reviewer suggesting that the ending could have had more impact if it was tone down.

Polygon review.

I'm calling off this purchase, ArmA 3's beta was 20 and offered way more content, as pretty as it look it doesn't justify the price for the length of the game.

I rather wait and see it bundled with the main released, I was hyped but 1 and a half hour-ish of main mission story doesn't justify it.

I put way more into the game than 1 hour and 30 min so far. IGN is wrong about the side missions and the tone. Kojima wanted this game to have a way darker tone and it shows. I also feel you have way more leeway to screw around in the side missions than in the main op and are definitely not forgettable, especially the one where you have to rescue one of your men (The ending is whacky). The CQC is way better than ever and makes MGS4's feel clunky and slow. The controls are fantastic and so are the visuals even for the PS3 version. This I feel is the best Hideo Kojima game yet even if it was the shortest.

Polygon needs to get over this cash grab thing. I honestly don't remember GT5P getting this much hate nor GT4P or any other small games PD sold after 3. Welcome to capitalism, where everything is done for money.

Edit: I like how if you try to put colons between GT4 or 5 between P it gives you this :P.

Only played a few minutes but the sound is fantastic. The game looks great too. I'm gonna try and take my time with it.

Same here, going to take my time with it. This and Splinter Cell Blacklist are keeping me busy and getting me back in touch with my old interest in stealth games that got put aside since GT5 came along.

Damn Gamefly! I've had this title as my only game in my Q for over a month. Sent back other game I rented over a week ago. They haven't sent me this game! I think it's time to cancel my subscription, again.

Also, a friend has played over 4 hours of it and has yet to complete the main mission. He's taking the stealth approach and it's very challenging, but possible.

Anybody who has it, please give us your thoughts. But please, don't post any spoilers!

I completed the main story mission in 51 minutes. I was not rushing it but I also didn't stop to see all the attractions, if you know what I mean. I'll be honest: I believe this prologue has about 20 more hours of gameplay(and I'm excited for every moment). Sure, if I wanted only to complete all missions and breeze by with 1 alert or two, yeah its about a 2.5 hour game. I value MGS enough to spend at least 20 hours working towards a no/kill--no alert--true stealth run for every mission. It's important to note this prologue could serve as a skill practice session for Phantom Pain. I'm glad I can go into that game not fumbling with the controls. I also enjoy attempting to complete all the challenges associated with achievements/trophies. The new reflex mode is optional so I turned that off. I'm already finding that if you don't pay meticulous attention to detail, you'll miss half the content. I love that.

Sounds like my cup of tea, I must've played the MGS2 demo more than the game it came with (ZOE, which I did finish at least twice at around 7-8 hours each time) and that was only an hour of game at the most. Then I got an Action Replay thing purely because I heard you could unlock new guns in the demo with it (you could get a FAMAS, but when you fired it Snake would do the reloading animation at the same time so you ended up spraying bullets everywhere) and played it even more... I played MGS2 itself around 19 times, Snake Eater 27 times and MGS4, well, I have no idea. So Ground Zeroes is most likely going to hold up to a few replays.

Video of the FAMAS in the MGS2 demo because why not, jump to 1:19 for hilarious spray mode:

PLEASE amazon, send it now. I am begging you!

PSN sent me mine, I just can't 'open' it yet. Worse still, I'm out all day Friday, Saturday and possibly Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Gah. Maybe if it unlocks at 00:00 on Friday I'll be able to have a quick go...
