Today I remembered a GT6 feature I would like to see again in GT7 : the ability to choose the origin of the engine sound, whatever the view you're playing with.

Most of the time I'm playing with the hood / roof view, but I would like to hear the sound from the cockpit when I do so..

Unfortunately Gran Turismo uses P2P to connect people, so you are always at the mercy of the person with the slowest connection. Nothing will ever solve that problem, especially since it's not localized enough so someone is always far away geographically. No matter how good your internet is, the internet of a 2nd or 3rd world country will make it not matter.
Is that true? I thought Sport mode used dedicated servers while lobbies are P2P

It's all P2P except the official events like the finals held on location. Everything done from your own console is P2P.

GT World Series online races are fixed servers.
GT World Finals are 12th december? Maybe Kaz will be cooking until this event...
No, they're 1st-2nd December.

Or... probably are. The initial announcement was 1st-3rd, but it said November 30th - December 2nd on-screen.

Has to have something on Sophy. Campaign integration, I don't think so. And I'm totally fine with that, also don't need a 16 car Sophy grid. But a good variety of missions with a ten car grid, I'd take that with pleasure. Some love for VR would be nice, at the very least the HUD options. Tracks... Well, always nice to have, but if it ain't Pikes Peak or -do I dare to say it- Isle of Man, I don't think I'm gonna be super interested. As for cars, LFA needs to come already. Some 80s Alfas I would love to have too.

Sophy plus a couple of those other things would make for a significant update for me personally.

I don’t understand the obsession with Sophy, at least in its current state, or where it was back when we got to experience it anyways. I don’t get why everyone wants it so badly.
I did all those races on each of the difficulties back when they had the Sophy demo with those select events and I wasn’t impressed at all. I couldn’t really tell a difference between Sophy and the current AI except for the incessant emojis and the custom liveries on the Sophy cars. Maybe it was slightly better, but it had the same tendencies and questionable decision/behavior as the current AI. I was expecting to be wowed by it based on the hype.
I’m not trying to toot my own horn here claiming to be a top class driver, because I’m definitely not anywhere close to the top. I just don’t get it.

I admit I haven’t followed news on its development, just basing off my first hand experience with it.

What is it that you guys see in it?
Is it the potential that is there for it?
Did PD make some big promises regarding it that I missed?

The biggest difference to me was that Sophy can be defended against in that it's aware of your car and knows to back off if there's no space (in most cases at least). Compared to the current AI that will merrily pit maneuver you down the straights to get back onto their prescribed racing line if you happen to be in the way.

The Sophy add on only had 4 Sophy's. That's probably the max the system allows.

I’ll be the one to say it…

ACC AI > Sophy in its last seen 4-car state.

The best implementation of Sophy would to be 4-detuned versions of them, vs…the rest of the field being boosted normal AI.

I run a lot of custom races to get ready for GTWS events. And even at a low A+ level, I have trouble running away from (2) of the normal AI drivers in races. I think that’s pretty standard tho.

But if you combined Sophy with Cranked up AI from the Lago Maggiore mission, then I think your onto something

  • B-spec
  • Endurance race series including 24-hour races
  • Sebring (we've already got Le Mans, Nurburgring, Daytona, Road Atlanta, Watkins Glen, and Fuji all of which host WEC or IMSA)
  • Some cars idk

That's all I really care about, in order.

First implementation, and officially declared as exploratory. PD has stated they are working on a more robust implementation and optimization. Ten would be quite enough for me. Would settle for eight. Six would be a slight disappointment. We'll see, hopefully soon.

Yes please I would love to be able to put those michelin stickers on every car especially the fxxk and p1 gtr.:(

I just don't get why you cant?

What’s crazy is the partnership. As you posted, cars get defaulted to the branding in Sport Mode. There used to be a glitch, in GT SPORT. Just enter the Free Play anytime before an event, exit out and the branding remained. Did it to all my cars back then.

The tyre branding only stays on that particular car. If you enter the LE with the branding, it deletes, as does the Gr.4 Cars with branding.
Well, another week to add the branding to your Gr.4 cars. Have fun.

I disagree completly sophy is conpletly different to the standard ai, i raced both, and their was big difference, they actully race you unlike the standard ai, and they have far better pace, and keep in mind it was just in beta form, but to think its even thexsame as the standard ai is very far from the truth
