Got my g25 a couple of months ago. I had the DFGT before the g25 and the wheels FFB feels smooth. the g25 is delicate when you want it to be and a beast when you want it. the pedals are awesome Worth every penny I use the H pattern but like the sequential shifter for games that you can only use sequential. I still need help not consistent with my laps. I would love to join next saturday see you all there

i would like to have online track days and only play users who have a wheel setup, especially using the manual transmission and clutch.

Open track driving would indeed be a lot of fun. I got iRacing to hold me over til GT5, and it's wheel-only, which is nice. I do wonder if GT5 will have wheel-only settings, since they clearly were able to detect what you were using for the GT Academy TT and adjust settings accordingly...

I got my DFGT last week in preparation for GT5. It's pretty good but the pedals are pretty bad. I figure if I get good with it, and I don't get bored, I'll upgrade to the G27.

It took a few hours of driving round and round to get a feel for it, but I still can't catch any kind of 'lateral movement'… I always over-correct :dunce:. I can kinda drift with the controller on a good day, but I haven't go a feel for how much to counter-steer yet. It made me feel like I'm a novice again, despite putting thousands of hours into the whole franchise.

I highly recommend turning power-assist (or whatever it's called) off. With it on, the feedback seems completely random. With it off, it's night-and-day, it feels fantastic. What do other people think?

I have a high interest in buying a Lotus Elise one day, so I practice with my new DFGT on Fuji with a stock 111R. I'm getting better at throttle control but I still suck with not spinning out. I almost always under or over-correct. Do you guys have any tips on catching a slide? And tips on cornering in general would be appreciated too.

-To OP: I think there should be a tips section to help out novices. I don't think there's a thread dedicated to helping new users on wheels and I think this could be the one.

I ordered the G27 along with the GT5.When i bought My PS2 it came with a Ferrari wheel. It was ridiculous i broke it on the fifth day with WRC :sly:.So i expect way better quality with this one.I played all the GT series with the Dual Shock so it will be a whole new experience for me :)

Count me in for either Saturday or Sunday depending on the rime since I work both days.

I have a g27 and a playseat evolution to mount it to and I have to say it is 100% awesome! As far as the clutch goes gt5p was hands down the best game I own that supports a clutch. I have gtr 2, gt5p, race on/07, and r-factor (can't find the disc at the moment). I hope gt5 gives us the ability to map our controls on the g27.

Count me in! Got a DFGT last week, only had nfs shift and gt4 to play with though. I imagine its going to be a much different experience with gt5 so a bit of help along the way wont go amiss.

I'm a wheel noobie also, though I just bought the Driving Force Wireless. Going to use it as a "Training Wheel" and then jump to something a bit more complex later. Also I will keep it around for going over to peoples houses and running around the track a few times.

Anyways if anyone starts a similar group for wheel noobies in general let me know I'm sure I will need all the help I can get, haha.

I'll be up for it, I have a G25 and it would be good to get together with other wheel users.

Only thing is I have no-one on my friends list (gathering dust waiting for gt5) Is there a list of everyones names?

So why do we have to press triangle to make our clutch work at the beginning of a race? I don't understand the reasoning or the programming behind it.

This will be the first time I've used my G25 on a console. Saturdays could be great.

Because PD does not support this wheel for reasons unknown, so they played it off like "someone figured out that you could enable the clutch by pressing triangle" which I am sure that they did that on purpose so users could use the clutch, if they didn't do it on purpose than why can't you enable the clutch with the controller.

Bottom line is it's not suppose to work but it does with the minor exception of pressing a button.

I just get this message out:

you want to drive on the hardest settings, with clutch and 900°. Then check my signature and join ;)

I'm in for that, just got myself a G27 a few weeks ago and was waiting on GT5 to be officially released to really get into it :D

Awesome, so glad to see a lot of G25 and G27 owners now that GT5 is finally approaching! I specifically would like to round up a bunch of guys and gals (if any) that play solely using the G25 or G27 wheel, other wheels are fine too but I'd like to be able to get the full manual transmission experience with others. I find it much more challenging than driving fully automatic. So therefore I'd like to race with other G25/G27 users who love to drive in MT using the clutch

I would like to start up a league of all the new G25/27 DFGT users in GT5. I don't mean to exclude anyone but this league is for new users to share their experiences with, and eventually get better at the game. Open to all ideas but I think next weekend, presumably Saturday, we all get together for a couple of laps at Nurburgring with our first cars from the career mode. We could probably set up a time to meet every week and see how we all progress. Open to all suggestions this is all about getting better with your new hardware and helping other users out.

I only use the G25. I'd love to join. I hate racing with DS3 users. (no offense) But the game completley changes when you got a full grid of only wheel users.

Totally agree with you on that. Which is why I'm looking for G25/G27 wheel owners to drive/race with online only.

Haha, i'd call you lot "Clutch Racers", or something like that

Us with the DFGT would be something like... "Sequential Racers"?
Cause we obviously still use MT, but without the whole clutch business.

Could have like, leagues and stuff, like people with G25/G27's could be in like a "G2x League"
drivers with DFGTs could be in "DF Leagues" that would be sweet. Something like that could be sweet cause we could like, get to know other people better like that, and recognise top racers in respective leagues. Just chucking something out there. I should really write this essay... haha

I would love to join you fella as soon as possible, but heer in Oz there is a severe shortage of DFGT wheels. Ive had mine on order for aaagggeeesss now, and the store ive ordered through have had several DFGT's on order themselves for a few months. Ive got my wheel stand pro sitting next to the tele but no wheel and no idea when the store will get one for me. Its killing me, but hopefully ill see (well not see as ill be in the lead ) you guys online not too long after release!

I got 2 or 3 guys that has a G27 on my list, but never got a chance to race with them in GT5 prlogue. I too want to race with the fellow G25/G27 user to even the playing field and make it more fun. Add me up if you guys are a G25/G27 user 👍. The nurburgring and SSR7 are waiting. :)

I just got my G25 wheel Well OK I bought mine when they first came out. If you would like some diagrams on setting your wheel up you can find some in "My Profile Page" I have one showing how to set the G25 up with DFGT settings. Feel free to print one if you like. I also have blank ones so you can write settings the way you want them.
