I'm pretty sure that's changed.

I'm still hoping for a livery editor patch. PD has implied there will be DLC in the game (GT Awards winning car will be featured in GT5), and considering how easy a livery editor would be to make, it's a no-brainer.

How easy a livery editor would be to make? Yeah right, it's anything but easy :)

Ok now it´s clear why there are no news every day... Every new detail makes the waiting harder :(

Sounds fantastic!

EDIT: The question is, can we tune standard cars too?? I mean optical tuning... Because as I know, standard cars are 1 complete part and premiums are hundreds of parts...

My money is on a solid "no" - at least, no more than was possible in GT4.

I am happy to be proven wrong, of course.

Dashes for standard cars - remember reading in a news article or somewhere that the original statement was incorrect - they would be there, just not as detailed.

Visual tuning - It was confirmed by Kaz in an interview.

Only roughly ten (eleven officially spotted) NASCAR cars??? This cannot be correct. In fact, Kaz himself stated, "I can't promise every NASCAR car, but there will be a lot". He couldn't have meant a lot was ten.

Well they are pretty much the same cars with different liveries. So lets just say, how many Toyota NASCAR teams are there? Fords, Chevy and so on.

It was also confirmed, by Kaz, in an interview that Standard cars will not get an interior view - not even like the one in GT PSP.

I'll see if I can dig it out...

EDIT: Bugger it. :grumpy:

I'm pretty sure when they say "car", they are being driver specific. A different livery does not make it a different car.

Hell ****ing yeah, sad that there wont be livery customization but the rest are pretty good.

MAYBE "future" DLC in the future should have the livery feature, but hell I can only dream right?

That's what I mean. I thought he'd said something different later. It's probably a figment of my imagination, but I remember him confirming that standards would have interiors, just not such detailed interiors. I seem to remember a discussion about it too.

He definitely didn't. One internet blog said that and of course people tried their hardest to believe it.

They've had low detail interiors since GT3. Seats, rear view mirrors, driver (helmet?) top of dashboard, roll cage etc, mostly in black and grey.

I get the impression the vast majority of this article is just them reporting on many things that were known. The article doesnt seem to be evident of any playtesting from a demo version, like that shown at TGS. More them assuming certain things.

Can't wait for this, it is finally gonna leap into the 'sim' catergory with PC games now. Forza will feel lonely :sly:

I want to see what the ISR guys would rate this as they seem to be anti-console. Well they think that the console can't make a proper sim and started downing this game as a sim already. Can't wait...... :D

Now I dont mind the team at ISR at all but gees do you remember the comments they made at E3 2008 about how PC like FM3 handling was.
They were lets say more than enthausistic about it. Also with FM3 cars featuring in their all time favourite "Sim Cars" how then can you say they are anti console?
If anything they seem evident to promote and push who/what companies work closely with them.

The issue some have with that is then reviews/comments/opinions on the show can be seen as biased to such companies wares/products. Hey thats how the system works I guess too, aint it?
You dont bite the hand that feeds you so to speak.

Is this stuff that PD has sent them, because just yesterday Sony PR stated that no one had a review copy of the game.

I hope this isn't the case. You'd think they would have at least enough different drivers licensed in order to keep from having duplicates in full grid (16 car) races.:nervous:

All these news releases lately have been very exciting.. can't wait to take my car out on snowy tracks again.

Cars
Of the roughly 1000 cars in GT5, about 800 are standard models. Mostly brought over from GTPSP, they're shiny, HD and still more detailed than any vehicle in Prologue. These vehicles only suffer scrapes and scratches, but it's crash consequences that matter. A trip to the gravel trap - or worse, the metal railings - in any car could prove race ending.

Obviously that magazine doesnt know a thing about what they are talking about there.
Anyone who believes this is seriously confused. GT5p cars are premium models, psp-ps2 wont look even near of that.

I believe what the magazine means is that the 800 cars from GTPSP will also be in GT5, not GTPSP car models upscaled into HD.

But most of the GTPSP cars are GT4 cars which are spruced up for the PS3, yeah, they are.

Here are a few details I pulled from the article. I haven't seen anyone mention them in this thread, so I thought I'd put them out there.

1. They mention another theme for the course creator called "Dawn in Rome".

2. Kind of related to the above, they also mention choosing "street circuits" themes from the creator

3. They say that the "special events will regularly get updated to keep things fresh"

4. The playview demo. You know the one with all of the cars on the screen. And you can zoom in and out in full detail, etc. They say that is "in GT5". Here is the video of it if you are not sure what I'm talking about. Personally, I think it will make for a great start to the "GT Museum" that has been mentioned elsewhere. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sd6aa8xaapY&feature=player_embedded

5. They say that you choose your favorite 100 cars from GTPSP and transfer those cars. Not every car you have.

6. Also, they mention that the WRC License is only up to 2008. Maybe some of the guys that watch WRC closer can clarify the impact (if any) this will have on GT.

5. I guess my favourite 100 cars are also going to be the 100 most expensive cars in GTPSP. 💡
