Blue Moon Bay Speedway is said to be located in the Bay Area. This 'bay area' refers to San Francisco and San Juan, or popularly the NorCal half. The frequency of the aircraft overflying the circuit indicates that the circuit is built in close proximity to SFO airport. If that tweet means anything, perhaps the same airplanes are to be sighted in a new California track, be it Laguna Seca (most probable), Sonoma Raceway (GT4), or Long Beach (new photo scape evidence).

But I'm just having fun overthinking about some random tweet. :dopey:

To be honest I doubt many would be angry at the content as it's at least clarification of what's coming, most of the anger would be towards the fact it took them so long to tell people.
Tell people what ? Everything we know so far been announced since march for April update. so far Audi and Supra announced to be part of update the we only know. What else do you want them to say ? They didn't mention any additional track or anything or promised for April.

It's fairly obvious reading posts on here that a lot of people were/still are expecting a full update akin to the previous few updates. While PD haven't mentioned anything bar the Audi and Supra they've also done nothing at all to quash any speculation and/or expectation and in fact only added to it with an extremely vague quote saying that the updates would continue beyond March which can be taken in several different ways. As I and others have said before, they have a Twitter account, their own website, the game itself and the PS Blog to relay information to their customers, a simple "the April update will contain the Supra plus gameplay tweaks" would take less than 30 seconds and everybody would know exactly what they were getting and nobody would be complaining.

How do PD have a communication problem? They told us explicitly back in November last year that we’d be getting 50 cars between then and March, yet the second we get a few weeks into April and they haven’t said anything about an update, they “fail to communicate anything”, even though they told us that we would still be getting content after March passes?

Alright, ok.

The laptime difference is almost entirely down to power (100bhp+) and tyres (confidential development).

With cars running on the same tyres in GT Sport, BoP could quite comfortably ensure cars are competitive with each other.

Nope, nope and nope. GT500s have approx 150bhp more than DTM. There is no confidential tyre development, it enjoys a tyre war freedom like no other series with teams able to pick any brand they want, even down to different cars in the same team running different brands. Their aero packages are completely different too. DTM is regulated strictly, GT500 is only down to the rear wing. All aero below waist height is totally free to development.
To employ a BOP would be an insult to both series. I revert back to my earlier comparison - it would be as ridiculous as wanting a BOP between Gr4 and 3.

While I, fundamentally, agree that people shouldn't expect what's not promised, I have to play devil's advocate here and say that these expectations are also, in part, the developer's fault. You see, as a developer, you need to manage the expectations of your audience. What you say and what you don't say play an equally important role. PD has this habit of long periods of silence, with little information. This can lead to rampant speculation and unrealistic thoughts about what's to come. "But", you say, "these people are getting overhyped by themselves! PD has nothing to do with that. It's unfair to PD.", and, to an extent, it's true. However, the reality is the expectations will build and, when they are not met, it's not just the speculators that will take a hit, but the company too. PD is watching the gossip flames grow into a raging fire and yet, just because they didn't start the fire, they don't need to dowse said flames, they're fine letting the house burn down. It wouldn't kill PD to just say, in a quick statement, that content won't be continuing at the same rate as before. This would be appropriate managing of expectations.
While it's true that they've not really promised anything, it makes sense for them to keep feeding us decent content. Everything they do now, circuits and tracks, will no doubt end up in GT7 (GTS2, whatever) as well as future super-super-premium next-gen games, so they can either keep it all to themselves until that release and watch the interest in their current title plummet, or they can can keep on drip feeding cars and locations as they're ready with the aim of picking up more sales and play-time for Sport. We'll all be paying for this free DLC when the next title launches with 500 cars (on PD's schedule, sometime around 2025) anyway, so might as well keep up interest in the franchise, rather than have players drifting off to something else.

Oh man. Do I really have to write underneath that I didnt meant it serious?

Hadn't seen you before so wasn't sure how serious you wer.

Let’s hope it’s a hint at the option to turn the darn planes off.....

I sense much disappointment in your future.

Yes I would really like that because every time plane comes my speakers sound like they are going to blow up hahaha

You guys know there is a option to turn down the volume of the planes, right?

Probably here will be more posts then meters of new tracks... :)

But, imagine new, elite GT Event - "This Tribute must be shorter"

Car is Porsche 919, guess the track :)

Discovered today that when you have a pro on 4k the flamss are gone. If you set your ps4 pro to 1080p and then the game in fps mode the flames are back...... So yeah.....
Well that's horse crap isn't it. Downgraded for those of us who have invested in 4k.

As I've "predicted" before, we will get the Noddy car and a helicopter!! This guess is just as valid as all the other speculation!!!

Confidential tyres is the name given to purpose developed tyres not available to customers. Those alone can gain 2+ seconds per lap. BoP power and they’d be on the same pace.

In Gr.3 the 911 RSR GTE is a good couple of seconds quicker than GT3 in certain conditions. But GT Sport uses BoP to balance it with GT3’s.

I give up. Even the series directors say they're not compatible but you obviously know better.
While we're at it lets mix Gr1 with F1 cos its nothing a BOP can't fix, right?! Sake.

Am I missing something? What is this major shift in plans?

Never claimed there was. All I was saying is, if there's a major change in plans, like a month/months with a different DLC strategy, PD should drop a notice of the said change. This way, since they're saying nothing, one could easily assume it's business as usual in April. They didn't say they would continue, but they didn't say they wouldn't, either. Is it that surprising there are people switching around to both sides of the fence? See what I mean by "what you say and what you don't say both matter"? There's no need to leave the community scouring social media for clues and wondering what's going on if you can defuse the situation with a simple comment.

I keep seeing comments on “communication problems”, but I’m not sure what exactly PD needs to communicate right now? We already knew the new Supra was set to arrive in an April update, and we now have a date set for that. If there is anything else coming to the update, I don’t see why PD should be obligated to reveal what it is before the update launches.

We know more car/track content will be added beyond March, but we haven’t been given quantities or deadlines/schedules - and again, I don’t see why PD needs to give that out right now.

No one is asking PD to reveal everything. If things will be different from here on, then just say something like this: "Due to the extensive work required, for X time period, new content for GT Sport will be released at a lower rate than before." There you have it. It even fits on a tweet. You've tempered people's expectations by telling them not to expect the same amount of stuff, every month, and you didn't say diddly about what content was coming. Is this that hard?

Regardless, I agree with a poster here that it's a bit too late to tease now. We just have to wait and see what's in store for us.

But why would that even be necessary? I don't see why they'd need to post something like that unless they'd actually had a delay in development - as far as we know right now, PD are still on track to meet their own deadlines. There is no precedent of what's coming when right now, there's no obligation for a car/track pack this month if the full FIA season is about to start, or to preview it if it is coming - none of these proceedings have been outlined in any part of a previously announced schedule, only that 50 cars would come to the game by March (they did), and more cars/tracks will be added beyond that time.

We already are fairly in the loop of what's coming - the new Supra and the start of the FIA season - the fledged out details come when they are revealed/added to the game. What you wrote sounds more like PD failing to meet a deadline, which to me would seem to bring more criticism towards them than what you already perceive to be being flung at them already. This is our first month post-March. We have little to no content deadlines set in front of us.

While I would like to know if the rate of add on content will increase, decrease, or stay the same going forward, there hasn't been enough time between the first deadline and the next possible content update to even determine if anything will be "different" going forwards. And we really don't need PD to tell us any of that right now when so much is going on. In a couple months? Maybe. But right now this seems like such an insane amount of micromanaging for pretty much no reason, and asking for a preview of a preview of a preview of what's to come.
