So the Super Bowl will be the worst event of the year, then.
I can't think of anything I want to watch less than a Seahawks-Patriots/Colts Super Bowl. I'm actually physically ill now.
Other than that, pretty frantic season all around. Right until this return to the status quo. Sigh.
Broncos fan...Packers fan...figure it out. What is your reasoning? We are not the team handed everything. We worked for all of our success. Nobody respects us. The media downs everything we do, the refs always are in favor of our opponents, and the damn commentators are so biased it's ridiculous. Your job is to be impartial, but they call the game one-sided.

It's 10 minutes to midnight here and I have a meeting first thing in the morning
Oh well, I'll stay up for the AFC Championship game - hoping for a Patriots win tonight
BTW, this right here shows the total lack of respect from the media that the hawks get. This pic is from a sports update on my GF's phone. Are you kidding me? #79 Garry Gilliam, not that hard to look up. I bet Gilliam is in better shape than whoever wrote that headline.
Correct. They will go regardless.So... this probably doesn't stop them going to the Super Bowl though does it?
Correct. They will go regardless.
They could lose their first draft pick. In an earlier spying transgression, the coach Belichick also was fined $500,000.
NFL RulebookArticle 1 The Commissioner has the sole authority to investigate and take appropriate disciplinary and/or corrective measures if any club action, non-participant interference, or calamity occurs in an NFL game which he deems so extraordinarily unfair or outside the accepted tactics encountered in professional football that such action has a major effect on the result of the game.
Article 2 The authority and measures provided for in this entire Section 2 do not constitute a protest machinery for NFL clubs to avail themselves of in the event a dispute arises over the result of a game. The investigation called for in this Section 2 will be conducted solely on the Commissioner’s initiative to review an act or occurrence that he deems so extraordinary or unfair that the result of the game in question would be inequitable to one of the participating teams. The Commissioner will not apply his authority in cases of complaints by clubs concerning judgmental errors or routine errors of omission by game officials. Games involving such complaints will continue to stand as completed.
Article 3 The Commissioner’s powers under this Section 2 include the imposition of monetary fines and draft-choice forfeitures, suspension of persons involved in unfair acts, and, if appropriate, the reversal of a game’s result or the rescheduling of a game, either from the beginning or from the point at which the extraordinary act occurred. In the event of rescheduling a game, the Commissioner will be guided by the procedures specified in Rule 17, Section 1, Articles 5 through 11, above. In all cases, the Commissioner will conduct a full investigation, including the opportunity for hearings, use of game video, and any other procedure he deems appropriate.
Double like. 👍Actually, that's not really true. If the Goodell finds enough evidence that the Patriots tampered with their game balls, the game result could be reversed. In rule 17, Section 2 of the rule book... (All Italics are mine)
Even if Indianapolis wanted to, they couldn't protest the result of the game (Article 2), however, Roger Goodell has every right to investigate the circumstances of the game, and if he finds that the Patriots under-inflated the balls to gain an unfair advantage (easier time throwing the ball and catching it), then the Patriots could be forced to forfeit the AFC Championship game to Indy.
So... this probably doesn't stop them going to the Super Bowl though does it?

Let me throw this open question out there. If the Patriots were just now getting caught using under-inflating footballs, how long do you think that monkey business was going on behind the NFL's back? The team was caught using film and lip readers to gain an unfair advantage as early as 2007, but some suspect that the team was doing it as early as 2000. [The 2007 remark was to refer to the fact that the team was known to be doing it as early as that time.]The Patriots will be totally deflated if that were to happen.
You're probably better off addressing the people you are referring to, instead of us.👍I wonder why everywhere I go I see people saying "I'm tired of seeing Seattle win so much, so I'm rooting for NE."
Um... the Patriots haven't had a losing season since the year 2000, they have made it to 9 conference championships and 6 Super Bowls since then. They also won 2 SBs back to back, and 3 in 5 years. Nobody complained then, so why complain now? You certainly can't make the argument that the Hawks haven't earned their way in.
And as of late, the only time even that becomes a story is when a big name starter gets caught. Everyone cheats, but unfortunately for the Patriots, they got caught cheating. Just like baseball, everyone else will continue to cheat until they get caught. You know, the only reason the ball story is big is because it's the Patriots. I don't see how this is any different than say, a MLB pitcher with pine tar on their hat.
