OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wilson said it all at the post-game interview: Never had doubt. Always believed in himself, the team, everyone.

So the Super Bowl will be the worst event of the year, then.
I can't think of anything I want to watch less than a Seahawks-Patriots/Colts Super Bowl. I'm actually physically ill now.

Other than that, pretty frantic season all around. Right until this return to the status quo. Sigh.

What is your reasoning? We are not the team handed everything. We worked for all of our success. Nobody respects us. The media downs everything we do, the refs always are in favor of our opponents, and the damn commentators are so biased it's ridiculous. Your job is to be impartial, but they call the game one-sided.

Those plays the packers did before the 3 point kick at the end of Q4 reminded me of the word "Blitzkrieg" :D

I'll get soemthing to eat for the other game, that one looks really interesting! :D:tup:

Broncos fan...Packers fan...figure it out.

So, a legend (Tom Brady) squares off against a man who is expected to become a legend in the future (Andrew Luck). I'm honestly torn on this game because while I really want Brady to get one more Super Bowl ring before he retires, I'd like to see Luck pick up one as well. I think that the Patriots will have the edge in this game, but anything can happen.

I feel the same way. Was really looking forward to a Packer's win and it looked sort of good.

Shout out to the "Two ply hefty bag of love" guy , solid National Anthem regardless of his weird song lyrics

It's 10 minutes to midnight here and I have a meeting first thing in the morning :(

Oh well, I'll stay up for the Super Bowl - hoping for a Patriots win tonight :)

I love watching Aaron Rodgers and his Packers blow it, the only team I think I hate more is the Cowboys. I'm glad the Seahawks pulled it out in the end, they're a great team and I think deserves to be back defending their title.

Now all I need is the Patriots to lose and the Colts to play in the Superbowl to make it at least interesting to watch.

I meant I'm not staying up for the game tonight because it's midnight here and I'm working in the morning, but I can at least stay up for the Super Bowl in a fortnight's time... enjoy the game folks 👍

Green Bay played us hard and almost came away with one, our very uncharacteristic turnovers killed us in the first half, we just handed Green Bay 13 of their 19 points in the first half, then were those momentum killing penalties. We have a lot of work to do before the big dance and hopefully we can get Justin Britt back, Cooper Helfet, Dobbs all back, lastly I hope Sherman's arm/wrist is ok, we are going to need him.

Gotta hand it to Rodgers, he played through the pain and gave it everything he had, if they had won, I'd be rooting for the packers all the way.

BTW, this right here shows the total lack of respect from the media that the hawks get. This pic is from a sports update on my GF's phone. Are you kidding me? #79 Garry Gilliam, not that hard to look up. I bet Gilliam is in better shape than whoever wrote that headline.

Green Bay completely outplayed Seattle. They began to waver, however, and were completely shattered after the failed onside kick recovery.

Gotta hand it to Seattle. Great teams find a way to win, even when it seems impossible. Russell Wilson is a true winner.

Every OL TD is called a fat guy TD, lighten up lol.

I never liked the Green Bay Packers, which is why I'm glad Seattle is going back to the Super Bowl.

Lets just hope the Colts beat the Patriots. Literally nobody I've ever met likes the Patriots, nor do I.

NFL is Investigating Patriots For Another Scandal

Another year, and another allegation for the New England Patriots as the NFL as confirmed to a number of sources that it is investigating the team for intentionally deflating the game balls that the team used in the AFC Championship game against the Colts on Monday.

The allegations initially broke through Indianapolis television station WTHR on Sunday, saying that officials took a game ball out of play for inspection.

By NFL Rules, all game balls must be inflated to 12.5 to 13.5 psi and weigh between 14 and 15 ounces. An under-inflated ball, even by half an ounce of weight, is easier to throw and catch than a regulation sized ball.

Former NFL official Jim Daopoulos, in an interview with ESPN on Monday morning, explained the process in which footballs are managed. Two hours and 15 minutes before each game, officials inspect 12 footballs from each team and put a mark on them to indicate they meet the proper requirements and are good for usage. Then those footballs are given to the ball attendant.

There also is a second set of six footballs, used specifically for the kicking game, that are marked appropriately and remain in the possession of officials at all times.

"Officials check balls as they go into the game, and if the ball doesn't feel perfect, they can throw it out," Daopoulos said. "There is always the possibility that balls can lose air due to the conditions."

Teams could be fined heavily if they are caught under-inflating game balls knowingly, or otherwise affecting the weight of the ball.

The NFL's game operations manual states: "Once the balls have left the locker room, no one, including players, equipment managers, ball boys, and coaches, is allowed to alter the footballs in any way. If any individual alters the footballs, or if a non-approved ball is used in the game, the person responsible and, if appropriate, the head coach or other club personnel will be subject to discipline, including but not limited to, a fine of $25,000."

Heavy rain began falling at Gillette Stadium in the second half of Sunday's game. New England owned a 10-point lead at halftime before pulling away in the second half, scoring three third-quarter touchdowns en route to a 45-7 victory over the Colts.

On the first offensive play from scrimmage in the third quarter, following a kick return, referee Walt Anderson briefly stopped play to replace a football which could have been related to this issue.

The last time an issue with under-inflation of the football occurred was in 2012, when USC was caught under-inflating footballs in a game against Oregon. A football manager was fired shortly afterwards after taking the blame.

So... this probably doesn't stop them going to the Super Bowl though does it?
Correct. They will go regardless.

They could lose their first draft pick. In an earlier spying transgression, the coach Belichick also was fined $500,000.

Actually, that's not really true. If the Goodell finds enough evidence that the Patriots tampered with their game balls, the game result could be reversed. In rule 17, Section 2 of the rule book... (All Italics are mine)

NFL Rulebook
Article 1 The Commissioner has the sole authority to investigate and take appropriate disciplinary and/or corrective measures if any club action, non-participant interference, or calamity occurs in an NFL game which he deems so extraordinarily unfair or outside the accepted tactics encountered in professional football that such action has a major effect on the result of the game.

Article 2 The authority and measures provided for in this entire Section 2 do not constitute a protest machinery for NFL clubs to avail themselves of in the event a dispute arises over the result of a game. The investigation called for in this Section 2 will be conducted solely on the Commissioner’s initiative to review an act or occurrence that he deems so extraordinary or unfair that the result of the game in question would be inequitable to one of the participating teams. The Commissioner will not apply his authority in cases of complaints by clubs concerning judgmental errors or routine errors of omission by game officials. Games involving such complaints will continue to stand as completed.

Article 3 The Commissioner’s powers under this Section 2 include the imposition of monetary fines and draft-choice forfeitures, suspension of persons involved in unfair acts, and, if appropriate, the reversal of a game’s result or the rescheduling of a game, either from the beginning or from the point at which the extraordinary act occurred. In the event of rescheduling a game, the Commissioner will be guided by the procedures specified in Rule 17, Section 1, Articles 5 through 11, above. In all cases, the Commissioner will conduct a full investigation, including the opportunity for hearings, use of game video, and any other procedure he deems appropriate.

Even if Indianapolis wanted to, they couldn't protest the result of the game (Article 2), however, Roger Goodell has every right to investigate the circumstances of the game, and if he finds that the Patriots under-inflated the balls to gain an unfair advantage (easier time throwing the ball and catching it), then the Patriots could be forced to forfeit the AFC Championship game to Indy.

Double like. 👍
You have reported something that the mainstream media have not!!

The Patriots will be totally deflated if that were to happen.
Let me throw this open question out there. If the Patriots were just now getting caught using under-inflating footballs, how long do you think that monkey business was going on behind the NFL's back? The team was caught using film and lip readers to gain an unfair advantage as early as 2007, but some suspect that the team was doing it as early as 2000. [The 2007 remark was to refer to the fact that the team was known to be doing it as early as that time.]

I wonder why everywhere I go I see people saying "I'm tired of seeing Seattle win so much, so I'm rooting for NE."

Um... the Patriots haven't had a losing season since the year 2000, they have made it to 9 conference championships and 6 Super Bowls since then. They also won 2 SBs back to back, and 3 in 5 years. Nobody complained then, so why complain now? You certainly can't make the argument that the Hawks haven't earned their way in.

You're probably better off addressing the people you are referring to, instead of us.👍

You know, the only reason the ball story is big is because it's the Patriots. I don't see how this is any different than say, a MLB pitcher with pine tar on their hat.

And as of late, the only time even that becomes a story is when a big name starter gets caught. Everyone cheats, but unfortunately for the Patriots, they got caught cheating. Just like baseball, everyone else will continue to cheat until they get caught.
