New England on the offensive.... sounds like a "really believable story"

The Patriots have launched a website called WellsReportContext (linked below) that responds to the assertions made in the Wells Report. "The conclusions of the Wells Report are, at best, incomplete, incorrect and lack context," the introduction says. The site goes on to cite a Nobel Prize winner about PSI levels and makes the insulting claim that football handler McNally called himself the "Deflator" because he was trying to shed pounds. We've reached new lows in the absurdity of Deflategate.
I may have brought this up in last year's thread, but Rachel Maddow did prove that an average joe with no football experience can deflate a number of balls in under two minutes. The joe that she used deflated 8 in her experiment to "Brady specifications".

Considering that her reporting is nothing more than toilet paper, par for the MSNBC course, I am actually surprised that her "experiment" made it past their editors.

THIS JUST IN...

San Francisco DL Justin Smith will announce his retirement. He's been to 5 Pro Bowls in his 14-season career. I wish him the best in his retirement.

Any thoughts on this fellow? Possible Hall of Famer? Favorite moments?

So it looks like the Patriots will accept their punishment after Kraft met with Goodell. I wonder if Goodell showed Kraft something they didn't have in the Wells report

Sean Peyton should now formally sue the NFL. He got a one year suspension for less for his "involvement" in Bounty-gate, when the Defensive Coordinator who engineered the entire scheme was sitting comfortably in his new job at Buffalo. Maybe he should sue for lost wages...

Love you some Hard Knocks? Well... as awkward as the last sentence sounded, it's said that the newxt team to be featured on HBO's "Hard Knocks will be between either my Houston Texans or the Buffalo Bills. And the nexr team to be featured is...

...the Houston Texans.

So I guess people just want to really know how awesome some guy named Justin James Watt is. To be honest, I'm not sure whether to be excited or not about my team being featured on "Hard Knocks," but... we're getting ourselves some face time on this show.

Man, that really sucks about Hard Knocks. Would've LOVED to see another Rex Ryan series with all the characters they have over there.

This man will be retiring as a Panther after 2017 and I wouldn't have it any other way

TE Antonio Gates of the San Diego Chargers will face a four-game suspension for violation of the NFL's Performance Enhancing Drugs policy.

Locally, Houston Texans rookie Brandon Ivory was arrested in Alabama for burglary. It's the first time a Texan has been arrested since 2009. We don't need any characters trying to make us look bad.

I finally had a chance to look at my Texans' schedule for 2015. Our season begins hosting Kansas City. We're at Carolina and at Atlanta early in the season. The Texans will play all three Florida teams- two against division opponent Jacksonville, hosting Tampa Bay, and we'll have a little play date at Omnis' Miami Dolphins. Two prime time games for the Texans- a Thursday night match in H-Town hosting Indianapolis and a Monday Night game at the Cincinnati Bengals after our Bye Week. Other interesting home games for Houston include the Jets, the Saints, and the Patriots. It's going to be a pretty loaded schedule. I'm happy with just a winning season. The long shot this season would be the Texans winning the AFC South.

Maybe the Dolphins will finally get their first win against the Texans this year.

Last I checked, the last time my Texans took on the Bengals, we lost. The Texans aren't exactly prime time performers much either. So that one can go either way. Same goes for the game at the Dolphins. Then again, you may never know what each season will bring.

To be fair, Houston at least usually shows up during a prime time game. Cincinnati on the other hand always looks like a jv middle school team going up against Alabama during a prime time game. It just seems to be a running tradition that the Bengals play like crap when they play a prime time game.

So Jason Pierre-Paul now has 9 fingers. Complete ray amputation. That means the finger itself is gone along with the bone in the hand. Don't play with fireworks. Photo/HIPPA violation courtesy of Scumbag Schefter/ESPN:

It is being reported that the NFL will keep playing games in London. However in 2018, games will be played at Tottenham Hotspurs' new stadium. It supposedly (and I want to wonder how this will work) will have a retractable glass surface and some artificial turf underneath for NFL games. This is at least as much as I understand this new surface and this new stadium. Until then, games in London will still be played at Wembley Stadium.

I just glanced across my news feed on Facebook, and I learned that Danieal Manning of my Texans retired recently. He was a quite good defender. All the best to him in his retirement. This one is kind of a hit to the Texans' defensive alignment.

Knowing the Texans' defensive line, they won't even need a great secondary.

I would have liked to see Suh go to the Texans just to see how effective a D-line with four of the most elite players could have been.

Is Clowney back to full health?

I am not sure about Clowney. Last I've heard, he's doing fine. I haven't really followed the Texans through this stretch leading up to the start of the season. I just hope he can get on the field and stay on the field to help us out on defense. You just don't want your top pick to spend more time on the sidelines rather than in a game.

ESPN is saying that Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant has agreed to a 5 year, $70 million deal with $45 million guaranteed.

Brady had the phone he supposedly used to text the guys to deflate the ball destroyed before investigators could get it, so it's not looking good for him
