The Lions-Jets game was more about how bad the Jets played than it was how good the Lions played.

Well, the NFL has a whole heap of new fans Down Under. Every one is tuning in to watch Jarryd Hayne, and whilst doing so, has realized how great the NFL is. Better than Rugby League anyday. :lol:

If he makes the team (which looks likely), SF will be making a killing off of Hayne jerseys from new Aussie fans.

Yes to that. 👍 Never knew you're a football fan mate? And I don't care that it's only pre-season. The Hayne Plane!

As much as I do love the NFL, I'm going to pretend you never said that. :grumpy: :lol:

Bit of a closet fan as where I live, it's League only, anything else and you're a softie. Really only started getting into the NFL in 2013. Watching the highlights from him and he's doing well. Still a few rough edges, but it's his first game.

I'll probably have to get myself one if he makes it. Gotta support your fellow countrymen!

Yeah I only started getting into it on a regular basis a few years ago, when they started showing games on digital TV. Before that I'd only watch the Superbowl telecast every year.

Definitely but it's a big step towards a roster spot. Honestly when he first announced his switch last year, I had serious doubts. He's got all the skill in the world but it's hard enough for guys who've been playing the game their whole lives to get into the NFL, let alone someone in his mid-late twenties who has never played it. Couldn't be happier for him that he's made it this far, still a long way to go though.

Time for the Texans to start a new season (albeit Preseason). We took down the San Francisco 49ers 23-10 here in Houston. Tom Savage took over as QB for the 2nd Half. What I like about Savage is his vision. He even kind of pulled a Michael Vick (in his prime, of course) to elude defensive pressure and scramble for extra yards on one play.

Up next for the Texans... we're hosting the Denver Broncos in our final home Preseason game next Saturday night. Yep- the horsies from Mile High come on down to somewhat near sea level to H-Town.

Congratulations to all other winners from this weekend. It's just Preseason, but winning feels good even for games that don't matter towards the regular season and/or postseason.

Happy for Hayne in his debut, hopefully he makes the final roster :D

Meanwhile my Saints better turn it around after losing to the Ravens, oh well :lol:

Sorry to break it to you, but Hayne sucks. He's slow, and he runs completely upright. You can't run Rugby style in the NFL. He will get his ass broken in two by any good linebacker shooting his gap. Like this:

Give Hayne some credit. He had 2 explosive plays

Adrian Peterson runs upright, so did Erick Dickerson. Hayne isnt a 18 year old running back like the one in the video. Hes been getting hit for years. He isnt stupid. Hes not going to set himself up for some huge hits.

And hes fast enough. Speed doesnt mean alot in the NFL if you dont have vision and the ability to make people miss. Hayne showed he has both those things. So what if he was caught from behind. The NFL is full of speed demons but they dont weigh 230lbs like Hayne.

Im excited for the guy. Those 2 plays werent flukes. He made a safety miss by a mile and got 25 extra yards out of that run. He showed good vision in the return and was 1 block away from busting another 50 yard gain. He looks like the real deal

AP runs upright? Lol.

Hayne is still slow. He's football slow. You may be fast in shorts, but with all those pads on it's completely different. You can tell by how he runs out of steam. Trying to run in pads feels like trying to balance a giant xerox copy machine on your head and shoulders.

We got two games tonight as the Preseason continues. First, AnthonyD1993's Detroit Lions will head out to Landover, MD to take on the Washington Redskins. The other match tonight is on ESPN with the Buffalo Bills at the Cleveland Browns. Do remember that none of these games matter towards anything. Just make sure your boys don't get injured or anything.

It was announced earlier this week that Ryan Mallett will start at QB for the Texans when we take on the Denver Broncos this Saturday night here in Houston.

Enjoy this week's Preseason games and good luck to all of your teams.

[UPDATE] LIONS, not Tigers! I had baseball on my mind. Edits made.

The Redskins are going to get broken in half by the Dolphins defense on opening night. RG3 is a total bust. He is going to break. He can't see what's going on in his own offense. He is just reacting, and he's going to keep getting killed by the blitz.

So, when its all said and done, RG3 will probably join Ryan Leaf and JaMarcus Russel.

The Texans just failed against the Denver Broncos, losing 14-10 here in Houston. Doesn't matter much since it's Preseason. They played a better second half offensively than they did for most of the first half. In fact, our only Touchdown was on a pick-six that would make even J.J. Watt happy.

Up next for the Texans... our home Preseason games are over. Now begins the Away Preseason games, starting with next Saturday's game at the New Orleans Saints. Yep- Texans get immersed in Who Dat? nation next weekend. Maybe dem Texans can beat dem Saints after falling to Denver.

Congratulations to the other winners from this batch of Preseason games.

Even though it's Preseason... Bengals at Buccaneers TONIGHT!

These Preseason games don't mean anything, but later tonight will be the Bengals and Bucks going at it in Tampa Bay. Dolph Drago's Cincinnati Bengals will look to pounce on the Buccaneers and rattle their brains some. Meanwhile, the Bucs will try not reverse their losing ways. Part of those losing ways was that absolute no contest last season when Atlanta trashed the Bucs on Thursday Night Football in Atlanta last season.

Anyhow... the Preseason continues. And as an off-topic note, my Texans have reportedly named B. Hoyer the starting QB for the Texans.

[UPDATE] Green Bay's Jordy Nelson is out for the season with a knee injury. BIG hit to the Packers offense.

Chris Myers (HOU, C) recently announced his retirement. So he joins Danieal Manning as far as recent Texans to retire. Chris Myers was solid for the Texans on the O-Line. I certainly wish him well in retirement while thanking him for his service with my Texans.

I want to try to get GTPlaneteers involved with the coming of this 2015 season. So with that in mind, here is the schedule for my Texans this season:

* 9/13/15: Kansas City 1:00 pm ET
* 9/20/15: @ Carolina 1:00 pm ET
* 9/27/15: Tampa Bay 1:00 pm ET

* 10/8/15: Indianapolis 8:25 pm ET (THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL)
* 10/18/15: @ Jacksonville 1:00 pm ET
* 10/25/15: @ Miami 1:00 pm ET
* 11/1/15: Tennessee 1:00 pm ET
* BYE
* 11/16/15: @ Cincinnati 8:30 pm ET (MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL)

* 1/3/16: Jacksonville 1:00 pm ET

I just don't know what we have outside of defense. The only thing I'm not hoping for is the Texans' defense to play hard while the offense stalls or does next to nothing. I'm happy with a winning season. I am just not expecting the Texans to lead in power rankings or anything. That's unless Arian Foster and Alfred Blue go nuts in the rushing game. That's unless Brian Hoyer just pick apart teams like a surgeon.

That's a look at my Houston Texans for 2015. If you want to talk about your team(s) and their upcoming season, feel free to chat away. I may just talk about other teams anyways in future posts leading up to the start of the regular season.

I watched the first two drives of the wretched game the Bengals played last night. I don't see how anything will be any different this year than in years past. We might make it to the playoffs, but I foresee another one and done if that's the case.

No games tonight, but tomorrow night starts the next batch of Preseason games. Teams have to trim down the rosters between now and about September 5th. So some teams are basically playing for their careers to stay with certain teams and make their contributions come opening week.

Here are Preseason games slated for tomorrow night:
* New England at Carolina
* Tennessee at Kansas City
* Detroit at Jacksonville

I read QB Rex Grossman signed with the Atlanta Falcons to a one-year deal (I believe...). It is said that JaDeveon Clowney may be good to go when the regular season starts. I just don't want Clowney to be a bust from injury trouble or whatever.

Dem Texans. Dem Saints. Dat Superdome. 27-13 was the score as the Texans took care of business in New Orleans (or "Nawlins"). We're not done with New Orleans this season because we have to play them in the regular season. So this was more like a tune-up. Brian Hoyer looked pretty good and played well from the QB position. I really hope we keep Tom Savage as a backup.

It's just Preseason, but congratulations to all other winners from this weekend's games.
