The difference is GT5's version of those tracks resemble the real things, the Shift Ring doesn't, the road is so flat looking, lacking all the cambers and angles you expect on the Nurburgring

The Chasecam is really strange it makes the game look weird.

I've never once heard Simbin claim they got "the real driving simulator"??

This is a racing game not a driving game, your getting mixed up with Shift 2 & GT5.

All they said is they will make an innovative entertainment racing simulator. There wasn't one single word about a driving simulator aka GT5.

And all the haters. Why are you still here if the game is so bad? Stop bashing it for no reason. Go play GT5 and be happy with it.

Yes hopefully not... I will enjoy the game and have my fun. And I just hate it if people come through starting to bash it and telling us how bad it is. Giving us a negative mood...
I can't blame no one to hate the game. Everyone has a free will and can like/dislike what he wants. But then just keep it for you if you have nothing constructive to add..
I wonder how the online mode will be this time. I didnt like the one in Shift 1 really.
Because if someone joined the room a timer was running down. It was hard to get a full lobby.

I'm not against criticism at all. Just create a "why your disappointed in Shift 2" thread and keep it in there.

Personally I've given up on GT5 and it has lost it's spark for me. No problem, I bought it blind without waiting for a review. I've had my money's worth out of it and enjoyed it.

I don't however go into the GT5 section letting off because 1. It goes on too much. 2. It get disrespectful to threads it can spill into.

Criticism in the appropriate threads please guys. Let's try and keep a nice vibe here.

Yeah I have also nothing against constructive critism. But reasonable.
I feel the same about GT5 for me it's kind of over.. I'm not much a Trophy fan so I have not much left to do. I'm now A-Spec level 36 and tired of repeating the same races over and over again.
Shift 2 will bring some fresh air in my room. Brutal Sound , awesome tracks and alot of entertaining racing action. That's needed for me now.

I'm sorry but have you watched the zonda replay on the ring. .. The driver is crawling around corners and his brake discs are glowing at the same intensity as during high speed braking. Fan boy or not this does not look good and its major disappointment for someone like me who enjoys watching replays as much as I do driving. I came on here because I was interested in buying this game. I like driving/racing games fullstop but this has disappointed me from the replays. It might be good to drive I don't know and I wont be finding out unless a demo comes out.

My apologies, I hadn't seen that video until I started looking for it on YouTube once you mentioned it, I must have missed it whilst I was looking through them last night. You are right about the brakes glowing throughout the replay, however I'm more inclined to think this is a glitch? If you watch the replay it seems like the brakes never stop glowing apart from on the long straight near the end of the lap, the reason why I think this is that if you look at the SLS video posted a few pages back the brake discs only glow on one of the sharper corners (from braking at high speed). I personally, wouldn't dismiss the game from these replays, things like brakes glowing can be patched. Again, apologies for not seeing the video.

Also, as Spagetti said, there isn't a intended demo from what I've read.

For the people moaning about the colours of the Ring...Shift 1 had 3 different timezones...Morning, Afternoon and Dusk, that vid looks like it's set on dusk..i doubt they only have the dusk setting in Shift 2.

I can't wait for this game, and yes I noticed the circus tents and all the banners around the nordschleife as well as the constantly glowing brakes on the pagani, but this is tiny stuff that can be ironed out in a patch or ignored by me without any sweat.

I think this game will have something for everyone, I don't care about "drifting" or how the "behind the car camera" works personally so I'm not going to moan about it being there or not feeling right. I care about what I want to use it for and what I want out of it. That is the feel of the cars and amount of racing immersion, a strong AI, freedom in setups/modifications, and the netcode for online aspects. From the videos I've seen of this game so far, it looks to become a terrific game.

New video showing 16 cars on the track in-car view. All aids are on unfortunately. I am really happen to see that the AI did not all pile up in the first hairpin corner. I think this must be a pad driver because he is able to look around in the car.

Ok a part from jokes, the suspension seems to work quite good, SMS are almost there, the just need to lock rear end a bit more and we will have a sim. They are near. That suspension bouncing seems to be way improved than Shift 1

Yes I agree. In Shift 1 the cars appeared to have almost no body roll. But Shift 2 looks nice improved

But I find strange that the cockpit dials are like they don't exist! Have never seen something like that on Shift 1! That makes me think that these videos are from a testing build and they still have some bugs and glitches (like the constantly glowing brakes in the Nordshleife video (which was also a bug that occasionaly appeared in Shift 1))! What do you think?

Don't know about a discount it depends where you are. In the UK Gamestation are doing a £5 discount if you trade in 2 games so I'm trading GT5P and Little Big Planet.

I'm liking the mud/bug splatter.
