Nurburgring Challenge Version 2 *POST YOUR TIMES*(N2, S2 and R3 Tires)

What version of GT4 are you guys using because I have the PAL version and I can't find the Stream Z in Nissan or Nismo or the Falken RX-7 in Mazda or Mazdaspeed....

Edit: Oh, I see. I was looking in GT mode. I see what you mean, in arcade mode.
I guess they can be classed as Tuner cars since they were built by many of Japan's workshops. I was just curious :) since they are closer to a stereotypical 'race car' then a stereotypical 'tuner car'. :D All resolved now.

Edit 2: I am trying to look for a MAXdrive but am finding it quite dificult to get one in Australia. Would an Action Reply do the same job? I still need to look and find out if they are more available in Australia...
Any help on this would be great! :)
 
I've also found it hard to locate a Max Drive... I believe they only made them during a limited time and were very popular (as in they're not made anymore). However, I've found quite a few on eBay... dunno if there's an eBay in AUS, but I know there are many max drives available in eBay.co.uk

look for Action Replay Max also. That is what I got. It has the Max drive with it and codes for cheats.
 
Hey I'm new here... I've known about the site for a while but never bothered to register.

5'23.223 - xbneo - Formula Gran Turismo '04

I have the NTSC "Greatest Hits" version of GT4. I use the normal PS2 controller. If my memory serves me right I had all 4 tires on the track at all times, with only 1 or 2 exceptions (but still kept 2 on the track). Oh and I didn't change any of the settings on the car (so no reduced weight or increased horsepower). Just a nice red F1 car. I like to pretend I'm on the Scuderia...

If you need proof I can provide a video or screenshot.

After a few long hours and one broken controller forcing me to use the directional pad(hell), here is my updated time. I can still probablt shave off close to another second from mistakes made on the lap but at this point I'll leave it at that.

Good question.

I have a couple of plans. First is to make a thread similar to this one, but on Suzuka and without the -10% weight reduction, although I'm not sure about that... about making the thread I mean; I will do the same thing of running every car around it, which would probably take a lot less time than the 'ring ones. You're welcome to open the Suzuka Challenge, since it's the updating process which is having me doubt about opening the thread, and I'd contribute to it a lot. Plus, I think Suzuka is the 2nd most challenging track in the game (I still screw up 130R, even after 2 years of playing it).

I chose Suzuka because I wanted a real life track with a good mix of slow, medium and fast corners; my final options were Fuji 2005 and Suzuka, but I chose the latter one because I liked it better.

My second plan is to do the same thing about every car, but around Citta di Aria forward. I only came to this idea after seeing Kent's Togue 350 Challenge, since the track is plenty challenging and also very fun.

I might end up doing both, or none... I'm not sure right now, but I'm giving it a lot of thought. But one thing I like is being able to compare all cars and having a list about it... I'll post that list up once I'm done.

I must say also that the NSX-R time from Deathclown is a cracker. I can see that time is possible but I would have had to spend some hours on it.

Well, you only made the request in March. So I wouldn't say the turnaround time is so great. :P

I like driving the Nurburgring; it reminds me more of a rally stage than a racetrack, in that you can very rarely do a "perfect" lap. Instead, you have to try to minimise the mistakes you do make.

It's not uncommon for me to be very slow at the start of the lap relative to my best splits, yet still be able to set a good time by the end. There's so much time to be made on the back half of the track.

I'll usually only abandon a lap on slowness if I'm over a second off my best at T3 or T4.
