Arrowany key points to 26 anyone? i must have tried 30 times
Suzuka has a lot of tricks and traps...
- You can carry alot of speed into the first turn, you only need to get slowed down for the second, tighter part.
- The esses can be taken faster in one direction than the other. I took all the lefts in 4th gear, and all the rights in 3rd. The key is to setup the last left so that you are carrying as much speed as you can onto the short straight that follows.
- Turn in early for the next two turns after that short straight, carry as much speed as you can without taking a walk on the beach.
- You will now cross the line for the first split time, and you should have less than 53 seconds to make up now. My successful run was with 52.241 interval, but in other failed attrempts, I actually got the interval down to 51.000 at this split time.
- Take a tight line through the hairpin. If you are doing well, you will now see the S2000. If you are doing really well, you'll be able to pass him before the braking zone for the next turn.
- full throttle all the way to the next two turns, use 4th for the first, then drop down to 3rd when it tightens. Choose the line that lets you get full throttle ASAP so that you are going faster on the long straight. You should pass the Integra soon after coming onto this straight.
- The left hand sweeper is the hardest part of the course to get right. It can be taken at full throttle with the proper line, but the Civic will probably be in your way. You need to get by the Civic without spinning out, getting a penalty, or losing much speed. Doing this part correctly gets you a long way toward beating this mission. I ended up putting all four wheels on the grass at 260kph to pass the Civic at the apex of the turn.
- If you've carried enough speed through the sweeper, the Beat should be in the chicane just in front of you. You should be passing him either in, or immediately after the chicane, or else you aren't going to make it. In my case, I passed him before the pit entrance.
- The S500 should be in sight. Pass him for the win.
