I've now (actually,it was yesterday) completed 1-10 and 21-34. I haven't even tried 11-20. I don't bother getting the Jay Leno car right now. I just wanted those nice Race Cars. I didn't think no. 34 was the hardest really. Just a very long wait in the start that got annoying after a few retries. No. 23 and 26 was for me, the hardest ones. With 23 completed, I felt kinda unbeatable, so I headed for the rest. And here I am. With a sweet kickass Zonda LM, a funny looking brute named Toyota 7 and last, and maybe fattest of them, R89 Calsonic. I feel good right now. Usually, I am just a mid-ranged gamer. Not going for 100% or close, in the really hard games. I gave up PGR2's KWS with 28 plats or so left. I won't do the licenses on gold, but I think I can manage silver. Yes yes yes. Completing these Missions made me feel much better :)

Congrats 👍 I won't bother with 11-20 either. And yes, that black Zonda is supernice  Even though I don't aim for 100% either, Gran Turismo are the only racing games actually worth going for it - and enjoying yourself at the same time

I tried Mission 11 for the first time night and found it very difficult. But why do so many people find #23 so hard? I'm an average GT player and I breezed through 20-24, doing three of them first attempt. 23 only took me 3 tries, then I won by a big margin. 👍

Mission 11 was a fun mission and I intend to run it a few more times. I wasn't even close on my first run. I had to run it about five times getting better each time through. On my fifth and final run I was able to overtake the lead car right out of the final southernmost hairpin and gently nudged it aside on my way by. I jacked that sucker with a ***** slap. It seems keeping it in higher gears always seems to help momentum and catching a slipstream from cars doesn't hurt either.

Before I wiped my memory card in order to start again( bought crappy cars, mainly a Skyline! and wanted all gold licences :grumpy: ) I beat M34 by just over 0.1 sec, without using the grass or shortcuts intentionally, **** me it was solid but really worth it.

I tried to run it like a licence test, I'll admit it took a while and I pressed tv sound mute on the 2 minute wait (STOP BLIPPING THE GODDAM THROTTLE!) 🤬 but it was such a buzz to really go balls out around the ring in a car with somewhat iffy handling for its speed!

Only thing is I've got to do it again now , good thing is that I know the track a little better now.

This time I've done the M34 ! :) waouh ! It's so much fun to get it after some frustrating times ! And the car you get fot that is great, powerfull and well balanced.
A small tip to add to the lot of others, it's very usefull to put 2 wheels on the inside of the curves, on the borders, it helps to keep the car on the inside line of the hard turns.
For those who still struggle, keep focused ! the car you gets really worthes the effort. 👍
Good luck,

Snypa

After several hours of punching my PS2 in the face for being ridiculous, I finally found the solution to mission #23 and I can express it in words.

Let the AI cars pass you ONCE AND ONLY ONCE per straight per lap. This take the first turn on the first lap, PASS the cars (but don't get so far ahead that they can't draft you after the turn), then let them draft you and pass you. Enter the next turn and get ahead of the AI cars coming out of it. Be far ahead of them coming out of the next turn so they can draft you and pass you ONCE on this lap.

Lather, rinse, repeat until you're done.

>>>> The key is to let them pass you ONCE AND ONLY ONCE per straight per lap. <<<<

Now on to beating this asenine mission 34. Stupid SL600, could that suspension be ANY SOFTER?? ARGH!

good work fella. works a treat. 👍
wish i checked here earlier... would've saved my deceased controller... the rage.
now just 34 to go... still 5 seconds adrift... what a b1tch!
you cracked it yet?

hi guys, i just manage to beat this mission after like 1.5 hrs of trying !! with a lap time of 6mins 43.434secs.. i was so happy i immediately saved the replay for remembrance lol.
I was quite lucky in fact, i got a 5 sec penalty and nudge the wall once. The 5 sec penalty was at the tighest corner of the new york street, so it doesnt affect me much :)

the key to this mission is EARLY braking and while cornering, do not go full throttle.. gentle acceleration is the key!

OMFG
i played this goddamn mission like 50times, then i remembered these forums that i havent visited since gt3 drifting days ;P

finally got it after watching the vid.

Now i can win the Professional Gran Turismo races with ma new Zonda LM car ;)

thanks to everyone for their help, and especially to the guys who give up their time (and social lives? :) ) to create the video's for us.

If Mission 11 is the one I am thinking of with the Toyota 2000GT, I went and got an M3 or another fast car and drove the track 3 laps in arcade mode to learn the track. The 2000GT was too slow so I couldn't remember the turns. Once I got the track down, I raced the mission. The key, I found, was that the 2000GT makes power up in the upper RPMs and seems to take a while to build. I would brake for the tight 180 degree turn and start accelerating way before the apex. By the time the engine built up to power, you were through the turn. So to me, early accelerating because of the engines powerband was the key.

Mission 11 and Mission 23 is extremely trying. :grumpy:
Finally beat both but had to be near perfect to do it, which is what makes the game fun or frustrating (depending on your mood). Someone stated they barely beat lead car at start/finish line that is the obect of this Missions to beat Lead car on last lap.
Mission 11 drive hard, maintain speed in corners, brake early never late. Beat Lead car by 0.406 seconds.
Mission 23 first lap draft pack of cars get your car up to 175 mph and try to stay in front of pack so they can draft you. Repeat leap frog to gain on lead car. Beat Lead car by 0.906 seconds.
This is after several hours of trying different approaches, many others can do better than me but I had fun doing it (frustrating when I couldn't come close to Lead Car)
All I can tell those who are still trying to beat these Missions is to:
Have fun
Keep trying and you will eventually beat both Missions
Or get mad and give up.

Can we get some hints on how to beat this mission? I only read one or two posts devoted to it. If someone has a video showing how they beat it that would be even better. Please speak up if you have beaten this mission. I've been working on it for the past 3 hours!!!!
Firstly, I hate it when people say they have beaten something that needs to be passed or completed. Especially for a game like Gran Turismo. I've spoken with people who, just because they completed one of the Gran-Turismo games, they just wave it off: "Ehh, I already beat it."

You don't beat Gran Turismo missions, dude. That's the wrong mentality. They're not boss monsters. :)

Anyways, I passed Mission 11 by .575 seconds after days on end of trying. Really, if you suck badly enough like me, you can get tips, times, and read theory all night long, but nothing will supplant pure practice. That was the most important ingredient for me.

Follow the yellow line sounds easy enough. (Yet, there are 3 yellow lines.)

you need to slipstream, go down low, then return to the top yellow line.
when you're on the straight stick to the outer yellow line (normally just to the left of it), then one of the cars will pick up your slipstream.
switch to reverse view and when the car gets close move down low again. a few of the other cars may slipstream too. keep your foot down and return to the outside so you can slipstream again near the bend.
repeat and on the last straight or bend you should be able to slingshot past and pick up p1 yellow skyline slipstream.

Oh, now I got 3rd place in M34 and I'm down to 14.9 seconds off, haha
You obviously know the track well enough now to complete this mission. All you have to do now is work on your exit speed. TRUST ME, this is the only thing you have to work on now. The other very minor flaws you are making on the track will soon disappear with a little more practice. Assuming you probably have a life, I give you another week and you'll have this mission in the bag 👍

my way is get up behind the red skyline ASAP stay right on him all the way until the last corner, drop down, catch the yellow skyline, draft it, then win.

Dad got me to do M14 (Superbird at seattle) and i passed the buick special before the end of lap 2 :dopey:, Proving that all you need to complete missions is to know the track and car.

I finally finish the game 100% . The mission 34 took me a long time to practice for getting an ideal cornering speed. At the end i understand something, if you are trying to put pressure to yourself on playing the mission, you will simply hate the track, but once you have passed the mission, and just try to play it calm and relax, you feel it is quite fun to play with. and i found out being calm, it helps your cornering timing.

I hope those people who are still stuck at mission 34 will get that passed soon. It is an uneasy mission.

I only have 4 missions still to do, the last three and this one... I don't suppose you could post a vid of it? I'm pretty sure I'll do it soon, but it's a tough one... the Superbird is so sluggish and I've always had a :ouch: :grumpy: relationship with the Seattle circuit.... a vid from a WRS Div I driver would be very helpful!

I'm not Div 1 (used to be....), but I have a video that I'm making ATM. It's not clean, there are a few accidental wallhits and some AI bashing, but it should give you some ideas.

Ahhh.... Excellent... Downloading now :D

I'm having such a bear with these missions. Daan... You're a godsend.
