Looking back at the images in the first post, i don't know why, but the graphics remind me of Gold, Silver and Crystal. :odd:

Really? One would think these versions represent changes in it's in-game appearance; afterall, the gameplay has gone from a bird's-eye to 'laid-back' style.

As for Pearl and Diamond entering Australian hands, my way of acquiring the two has come down to a competition I have just finalised an entry for. I won't spoil the competiton details, but there's a good chance, assuming they don't pick entries from random and throw away any that don't look pre-13 yr old standard, that I'll have a top spot in the final selection process. I'll scan it once the Aus. wide competiton has closed and the winner/s have been chosen, as I'm quite happy with my entry.

Not really. The only difference is that the world is now 3d and there is some camera sway.

Is it just me, or is the GTS more or less a joke? I'm just searching for Pikachus and Abras, and everyone wants a level 100 Palkia.

Of course they want that.

Never go to GTS and expect to find something. The only way GTS works is if you submit a trade-fodder pokemon for one that you want. You have to put up the lame pokemon with your request for the one you want.

for the one you want.

Like a level 100 Palkia.

I did find an Abra, and they wanted a Psyduck... but since mine is semi-leveled up, I didn't want to go through the whole training process if I want a Golduck in the future.

No, duck, you don't get it. Do not search for pokemon at GTS. Instead, put up one of your own pokemon and request a pokemon of your choice. Usually, the japanese will have filled your request by the next day.

Wahey!!! I got diamond from a games shop who import games (dont care if its not legal for them to do so either!!)

I've got one badge and i'm on my way through is it the eternity forest?? where that chick follows you and heals your pokemon.

what do you need to have done to access the GTS? i tried to get in and got turned away!

You need the coal badge.

Well that was the 100th post with Duċk, so I might as well have this retitled 'Official Pokemon Thread' no? Most who are generally interested in Pokemon come here for posting anyway so I figure it will be relevant.

I received my copy of Pearl yesterday and it's bloody awesome. I have my Coal badge and am on my way to Eterna city. Omnis could you give me some pointers on how to get the other two starter pokemon through GTS? I put up a Zubat but I don't think my request will be filled.

Don't worry, it will. Just make sure you request a level 9 or lower. You'll usually get a level one from a breeder this way. The first one I got was a level 100 piplup for a level 9 geodude.

The wait depends on your proximity to Japan. you'll have to wait about a day for the request to be filled if you're on the US east coast. (when it's night here, it's day there.)

Wait. Some sap traded a 100 level piplup for one of the most common pokemon in the series? WTF.

I am the champion of Sinnoh!

And I now have the National dex. But I don't want to trade my legendary Pokemon from Sapphire (because it's one way only...). :( Oh well, time to at least get the rest of the new Pokemans and legendaries.

Bah, I just started playing Ruby... deleted my bro's old save and started cracking at it.

I just wish I could skip craptacular fights sometimes... kinda my same gripe with the FF games - the random battles if you are in a danger zone. Still, great simple game mechanics I remember from classic Red and Blue, just better.

And someone want to explain the berries to me? I don't have the book and thus don't fully understand what they do and how they work.

I started playing Pokemon Yellow again a week ago. I've been playing it at every chance I have and now have 5 badges, I think its a pretty good effort.

Yeah, but the problem is that you can't use it until you get every badge and its stats suck for a level 100.

Friends codes anyone?

I was wondering if anyone had some pokemon that you can't get in pearl without trading (things like Mew, Celebii, Jirachi would be awesome and I can trade it back...just so I have it in my pokedex ;)).

I just finished up the 7th gym in Ruby... got my main Pokemon around level 30. Gyrados and Skarmory FTW :P

That aside, I'm tired of fighting trainer's pokemon that are 5-10 levels higher than mine, but I am way too lazy to level up mine. BAH!

The Australian release is just around the corner, i might get it as a late birthday present for my sister. :)

I'm considering this Pokemon Diamond & Peal Limited Edition NTSC version Nintendo DS Lite (that, as far as I know, was originally only released in Japan and to a special U.S fan club)for Christmas this year.

It's relatively expensive at $370AU + $22 P/H, but assuming I can bulk-buy those screen protectors it should hold it's value for years to come (I know it won't, but I'm trying to be optimistic).

At more than double the price of a normal DS lite it realllllyyyy seems like a waste of money, even for a Pokemon fan. Unless you find yourself waken in the night by dreams of Pokemon and have lots of money to waste I really wouldn't get it

Is...It okay if I post a picture I recently drew, a Pokemon-related picture?

The Pun was too much to resist.

I have a copy of Diamond but only my sister has a DS. I don't play it until i get my own DS so we can trade at the start.
