I really want to enjoy this game but after the last update the input lag actually got WORSE for me. Ugh.

Everyone else seems to notice a slight improvement but the delay is now about 0.5 seconds on my system. Theres just no way to play like this. Makes me a sad pandaren. G27+PS3

After second patch this game turns out to be different game. Whole lot better experience 👍 And I've also use G27 + ps3 combo, but i rather PC

I am using a g27 on PS3.

Setting up the wheel to act normal is a b!tch. This forum was a big help.

During races I am unable to pause or quit without having a dual shock controller handy.

Helmet cam is great visually but I am constantly missing apexes due to the look-in.

Shift 1 would let you use any car in a quick race that was not career mode. I miss being able to test out a car before buying.

I like to use the Caterham r500 but my replays show the front wheels at either straight or full lock and it just looks silly.

Another thing, the customization is odd in the game. As soon as I upgrade my car, it can't go into the race anymore. There's no indication of the amount of power you can have for the race you are trying to do. I could be wrong though...

You can watch the amount of power. There even comes a warning if you exceed the power limit and make your car in a better league!

The most annoying thing in this game for me happens when you touch another car or a barrier. I just get stuck to the car/barrier and have to slow way down to get off it! Ruins the game completely!

The two things I would like to rant about is the distorted synthesized audio and the collision effects. Other then that I am having great fun with this. Okay it would be nuts if it had the Race 07 physics. These are as expected more GTR 2 like which I never really enjoyed ;).

However great fun with it and some things are awesome like the night racing. Who said graphics doesn´t matter.

For all these people with trouble keeping the car in a straight line on a stretch or a high speed section: Stop over-correcting yourself and be gentle with the controls, let the car do the work since you're driving forward the wheels will straighten out themselves.
If you have like 2% deadzone in your wheel you can just try and center the wheel and you can feel there is no force feedback within like 3 degrees from the X axel. you can use this space to gently sabilize the car.

This ofcourse are just my findings and opinion, if you think i am wrong with my statements then please tell me.

you guys should check out the nogripracing forums unofficial patch fixes lots of stuff in the game! They even have a mod that adds Ferrari cars to the game!

My biggest rant:

The Opponents AI. If you are in the middle of a turn, and the opponent right behind i will guarantee that the AI thinks: Oh hey! A car is infront of me. Lets pretend hes not there and crash right into him!

They are working on that one! Not EA but the unofficial patch! =)

If the AI knock you off from behind, you're not going fast enough. lol

did u really said that??? when someone don't use the brakes in the first corner he s already faster than everybody else...the problem is, this game is not like shift1, where u cud hit the guy in front and keep running, or use it as ur brakes,.... the reactions maybe not perfect, but at least when you hit ur car u actually lose it!
A few good drivers just don;t understand the difference btween win and fun. If the car in front of you is slower, u can easy wait to overtake without hit, if had no time for it, be sure than that guy in front knew u were faster!

Hmm, if I could understand what you're trying to say I could come up with a sensible answer.

I have both Shift1 and 2 (and Forza4), drive as 'realistically' as possible, not attempting moves that would have me killing myself or someone else or writing off my car if it was on a real track.

Otherwise what is the point ? It would just be a meaningless child's game.

Well, in real life you don't hit the car in front, even if his slower, do you??

Did you understand that or will I need to draw for children?

Erm, if the car was driven by a computer like the AI it might...unless you were fast enough to get away from it...which was my point, for anyone with brain enough to comprehend that.

Ok, I give up on you . If you're wanting a flame war pick another forum.

Bye.

I don't think i choose the wrong forum, i think i choose the wrong person to talk!

The computer shud have more brain and skills than you to avoid other car in front!
That's my point, it's not put flame in nothing.

Peace and be well

I really hate the delay in shifting and the crash modelling.

However the track list more than makes up for it IMO. Many more real world tracks and track variations than GT5. Too bad its so goddamn hard to drive anything with a steering wheel that feels like it's broken (ps3).

@thiagoturbao - Please quit flaming and read the AUP.

What's with the blur when you reach high speeds, I already feel nervous about crashing without it!

I have zero idea how the 4WD differential settings are similar to real life.

Why no dyno readings in garage when the infomation is present with the in-game live telemetry view? :grumpy:

Why must I change from stock wheels when I get a stage 1 or 2 tire upgrade?

Why are the 4 wheels of the R8 and the rear wheels of the LP640 and XKR as flat as pancakes?
(Among many other stock wheel deformities. :yuck:)

Why doesn't the LP560-4's rear spoiler extend up? (It worked in Hot Pursuit :).)

The Scirocco's wheel design should be the optional R19 diameter yet it sizes more like the standard R17s.

The MX5 and RX8 are 'out of date' pre-facelift models.
(Although if there is a significant engine difference like the old V8 N400's 4.3 V8, the 997.1 GT3 RS's 3.6 flat six or even the original S2000's 2.0 it is fine.)

Why do the Continental Supersports, DB9 and possibly the Veyron feel overpowered compared with cars of similar power to weight?

Why do the LP640 and Veyron have flawless super grip god-like handling?

Why does the S2000 handle like it's drunk?

Why do the Supra, 135i, Audi S3, Leon Cupra and CCX feel power-nerfed?

Why are so many stock analog speedometers out of synchronization?
(Most Audis, the Z06 and Leon Cupra for example.)

That said, the cockpit 3D models are otherwise superb and I don't mind the rest of the bodywork even though some date back to Prostreet.

These rants also show I like standard unmodified cars.

The game's horrible.
Physics are a joke, game's unplayable (unbelieveably horrible car control even on pad).

I got this game from Playstation Network (for "free" under my quarterly subscription) and am generally enjoying it a lot, but in spite of many issues, and I think it could have been tons better for relatively little effort on the part of EA. Some of these have already been mentioned I guess but my rants would be:

1. The steering latency. There seems to be an input lag of up to 0.5s, which is pretty unforgiveable these days, and suggests it was effectively ported from the PC version or XBox. Strangely, you do get used to it to some extent, it's definitely worth messing with the calibration settings a little and some cars are of course more stable than others, but just when I thought I was getting used to it came the first "Eliminator" challenge with the Viper., which was like steering a barge around a hot wheels track.

I think the main problem is whilst you can pre-empt the corners for the most part, correcting from small collisions, straightening too late out of a corner, hitting a curb etc. becomes a nightmare as you go into a kinda "death roll" that inevitably ends in disaster. A great shame. Did a patch ever turn up? I guess not.

2. The whole presentation of the game is ridiculous to me, if they were trying to market it as a legitimate race simulation why the rock music and shouty wired fat guy talking to me all the time? And the ridiculously OTT "slamming" SFX and such in the menus? It's like they handed the whole presentation to the same person who does all the other NFS games, asked them to do something more professional and they covered their ears, rocking back and forth saying "but I don't understand!"

3. Sound effects are white noise and many of the cars sound suspiciously similar but there are some nice downshifts, throttle blips etc. However, the revs to me often seemed to bear little relation to how much gas I was giving it, which made it harder still to judge approaches to corners etc. It's surprising how much of an integral part this is in games such as GT5.

4. The DLC is shocking. To be honest I will most likely get the Legends pack which isn't bad at all, though a little pricey, but the "Speedhunters" pack pulls the trick PD played with the first GT5 DLC - tuned and re-liveried versions of cars already in the game. A little pointless also when you can already tune the cars (perhaps not to the same extent) and add liveries. And the "tracks" are a drag strip and standing mile (AKA a drag strip). But worse still, in the UK at least, you can "download" the ability to unlock all of the cars, challenges or just five fast cars, which would be nice if it were for free but EA actually CHARGE MONEY for the privilege. They are literally charging for nothing, for content already in the game and that seems very wrong to me.

Anyway rant rant, I actually like the game in a lot of other respects, a lot of the tracks are fun (though less stuff sticking out into the road like barrels etc would be nice), and whilst the handling is pretty bad (and basically arcadey) the physics and general "feel" of the cars, their weight and grip limits feel a lot better than some games. Also ultimately i'm a car nerd and I really like some of the cars in the game which aren't in GT5, particularly in the Classics DLC.

Best way to describe this game 👍 It's addictive though, I'll give it that, and the visuals, large range of tracks, and GT1/3 cars do take some of that frustration away.

Can someone tell me why I never get the bonus money after leveling up? Is this a glitch?

Yes but it only effects some people. Also if your game freezes in autolog delete your buddies on the list and readd 1 at a time till you find out who it is. EA says they cant be your friend if you want to play shift.

I suppose you could buy the all cars DLC which makes them all cost $0 in the car lot, although it is a shame to have to spend money because of a bug.

good luck

Nothing I can do about that then? I've reached level 11 and have no money for the newer cars.

Try back up your save file, delete all the game data and install all over. Maybe then your game will work normally. If not then find some short race like Monza GT1 race for 17.000 credits for 1 place and repeat this 3 lap race. Kind of stupid idea for earning money but i think it's the fastest way.
