Are you on PS3 or PC and the link doesnt work... Yes I like the game a lot but Im getting the FFB strong in the first race and then... I reseted the settins a few times now and tried everything but Strong FFB only in the first race.

I have the PS3 version. I found this post in the G27 settings thread, and it works. Note that you will lose your LE content if you have it. I don't have it yet, so it didn't bother me:

My experience:
after changing everything i got back the ffb ( tried starting the game and pausing it 5 times and now there is FBB always for all cars.. even if i'm sure that i'm lucky enough to loose the ffb while studying and when i'll start up the game again the ffb won't be there anymore )

here what i've done and some conclusions:

- step 1 delete the patch--> this make me lose all the LE content i don't have any more the events and the 3 cars, don't know why but are gone. The strange thing is that if i choose the cars with triangle before the race the giulietta and other are still there while in the garage there is nothing.
- start the game
- if you try nothing has changed, the patch is no more there but the wheel is not working.. why? don't know
- reset the wheel settings with traingle and then put again your favorites and save, put it with 900^.
- exit the game
- restart the game and dowload the patch
- play and now ffb should be back.. why? don't know
- try to play a race, pause and restart.. if it's ok the ffb should be still there.. if not nothing is solved.. i tried 5 times and now i got it there all the 5 times. Before if you pause the game you lost the ffb.
- exit the game
-restart the game
- verify if evrything is still there.. however LE is gone.

An important thing that i verified, in my case, is that i had to put the degree to 900.. if i put something different the FFB vanish. Even after this process.

Now i'm asking you if do you have any idea to get back the LE content.

thanks

I stuck on GT5 last night for the first time in a few weeks after a 5 hour session on Shift 2 and about the last 2 hours playing the GT3 series...

5 things that struck me.....

1: Graphics were far superior, i forgot how good they were after many hours of shift.
2: I thought i stepped back in time 10 years, the driving was so sterile and every high powered car i drove was incredibly easy to drive
3: Physics when the game came out i thought were the best i had played, now they just seem wrong, i felt as if i was going out for nice Sunday drive, this was not racing and the car was glued to the road.
4: The sound was horrible, i went into a wall of tyres (used to Shift 2 driving haha) and was greeted by a weird cardboard box noise and it was as if the tyres were made of concrete.
5: The looooooooooooad times, what on earth is going on here? Menu after menu has to load and then the loading for a race is far too long and that's with the install done.

After a few races went back to Shift, night and day difference!

Just about completed the GT3 event! 1 Word...

AMAZING

My thoughts exactly! 👍
I had a great time completing the GT3 events with the Corvette!
Once I tweaked the setting a bit, especially the caster angle, I found the car to be very precise and controllable and at the same time lively and fun! :D
I could correct the understeer with more throttle and balance the car using slight opposite lock and careful throttle control!

What car did you use?

I used the Aston Martin DBRS9 GT3 with Terronium-12's tune and then tuned it a little myself so it was a little more planted although slower, Did manage to get top of my autolog buddy's with it though on most events :)

The cars are SO different you'll want to do the GT3 events with every single car Just to have fun.

PS: The Aston roar seems music :D

I am looking forward to it! ;)
Shift 2 really makes racing games fun and exciting again!
And at the end of the day that's what I like the most about Shift 2!
It's fun, entertaining and I have never became frustrated with the game! 👍

Reading the Rants thread, it's really amazing how much fud and lies are being spread by the haters. Clearly, many of them haven't even played the game for more than an hour.

I mean.. how can you claim the AI is bad when it's so many lightyears beyond the brainless Bobs driving around in GT? And the physics model rivals that of GT5 on many levels (e.g. the tire modeling is much more sophisticated than that of GT).

I encourage anyone reading this thread to give S2U a fair chance. It has a learning curve (like driving a real race car obviously should have!) so you can't just step into an 800HP supercar and expect to beat records without any practice, like you can in GT. But once you've mastered the car, the racing is extremely engaging, realistic and rewarding.

Shift 2 has offered me the most intense and enjoyable racing experience any game has given me to date. And I have played many!

Highly recommended! 👍

First off.., there aren't apparent lies in many of these posts.., and just because someone posts in the rant thread doesn't make them a hater either. The game DOES have serious problems (FOR CONSOLE USERS).., and how can you say that the lot haven't spent more than an hour on S2U.?.? I've put many hours into the title (as many here have)..., and there are very real problems with the title. If you enjoy the game.., then fine.., but don't come into the Rants Thread and dog others who are rightfully posting here.

At the moment PC users already got that patch and are enjoying the game much more. The console users are still on the waiting list.

I am playing on a PS3 and my experiences are totally different from many of the rants. The physics seem fine to me, I don't notice this '0.7 seconds' lag and the AI are absolutely brilliant - almost human in their behavior.

Some people have freezing issues (although I haven't noticed those either since the latest PS3 patch), and I guess those are a serious nuisance if you're affected by them. But saying that EA pull a bait and switch on you with this game and mentioning legal actions etc. just reeks of exaggeration and borders on trollery when in fact this game surpasses the quality of GT5 on so many levels...

Can't be everywhere :)

BTW, I like the game and have posted on the rants thread too. 57% of the game needs more than one hour of playing. And some of those hours spent flew by really fast :D

Well my PS3 froze more times the last two days with Shift 2 than over the last 2 years... in fact it froze 3 or 4 times more.. and with Shift 1 it froze a few times also (about 3 or 4 against 10 or 15 with Shift 2)... all at high speeds on the ring and Mount panorama , and two time checking photos in autolog...

Sorry mate.., but your statement on GT5 is PURELY subjective. Just because you're not experiencing the many issues doesn't mean that others aren't having them and don't have the right to voice their complaints.

Also.., calling me a troll simply because I point out possible legal action is utter rubbish man! First of all you don't know me from dirt. Second.., if you looked at the money I've invested in BOTH Shift-1 and Shift-2.., it's obvious I'm no troll. I have both Shift-1 and 2 on the XBox and PS3. At $59.00 a pop.., you do the math :)

Like it or not.., consumers do have action against developers. The practice across the entire gaming community of sell it now fix it later is absurd.., and it's getting out of hand. You don't go to a car dealer.., buy a car.., and get only half the steering wheel off the lot to be later told.., we're expecting a patch for that later.

The only reason I see that many take issue with the idea of a suit is because consumers haven't come together yet on one class action against any developer. It's when individuals like yourself label the RIGHTFUL concerns and issues of consumers as TROLLS that the issue at hand is often ignored. Just let one good class action go through against a developer who gets cleaned out by the consumers on it.., and see how fast the industry cleans up their act.

Ok, mate. Fair enough. I'm not from the US so I guess I'm not as suit-happy as others. Indeed, I'm enjoying the hell out of this game - life's more fun when you focus on the positives rather than the negatives. If upcoming patches make the game better soon, more power to us all 👍

Can we keep the rants in the rants thread please? That way I can ignore that thread, when I want to enjoy my game and not be depressed.

I would keep it in the rants but...

Reading the Rants thread, it's really amazing how much fud and lies are being spread by the haters. Clearly, many of them haven't even played the game for more than an hour.

I really dont like being called a lyer and a hater... and its really funny because I do enjoy the game a lot, but I enjoy having a PS3 a lot more...

Why would any one think that someone who has a different opinion or point of view about a VIDEO GAME is a troll or a liar who, obviously, didn't played the frikking game for more than a hour absolutely puzzles me...:ill:
Can't it just be people perceiving the same reality in different ways...or like different things...it's almost like in Music...if You don't like same things I do You don't know ****!!!:grumpy:

(end of rant about ranters;) )

Now on topic and praising S2U:

I love the track selection in this game, adding to those wonderful tracks of Shift one:Spa(although I enjoyed the previous layout with the old "Bus Stop Chicane" better), Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Road America, etc. They brought more wold class tracks that make the game worth playing per se:

Bathurst, Dubai, Oschersleben, Catalunya and my now favourite:

ZOLDER:)

I would keep it in the rants but...

I really dont like being called a lyer and a hater... and its really funny because I do enjoy the game a lot, but I enjoy having a PS3 a lot more...

Chill man, I wasn't referring to you. I even acknowledged that the freezing issue must be a genuine nuisance if you're affected by it.

I was referring to people going on about how bad the game is from a gameplay/physics/AI/realism perspective and how S2U seems to be a bait&switch scam by EA. Which to some extent is probably subjective - but often sounds like they're talking about a different game than the one I've been playing and enjoying.

I want EA/SMS to keep supporting this game and to pursue this path of the NfS range, because I see more potential in the Shift games than in the direction Gran Turismo seems to be heading. Scaring everybody who is potentially interested in Shift away by greatly exaggerating issues is not going to help anybody.

Now back to the raving! :)

Sorry then, I must admit that the game with a patch to solve the FFB and freezeing issues would be brilliant IMO.

No problem. I shouldn't have taken the rants into the raves thread anyway so you can blame me. :dunce:

I'm hoping they'll follow up the Legends DLC (which I'm still impatiently looking forward to) with more equally brilliant packs in the future. Something I've lost hope in when it comes to GT. Kaz is too much lost in his own little world to understand what we crave from a racing game (hint: it's not a horns collection or nanny-patches that only take away things instead of adding them :sly: ).

The fact that the SMS guys apparently take the trouble of reading our comments here and taking us seriously tells me we should be fair and balanced in our feedback to them. Yes, there are problems and issues - and the freezing bugs, hit-and-miss FFB and disappearing liveries are a royal pain for some. But underneath that, there's a brilliant and superfun game that deserves more praise than it's getting - because on the internet, the complainers always shout loudest. :ouch:

Alright, so I just got the game and must say I'm pleasantly surprised. Was looking for something that had good offline experience since the psn is down and S2U is definitely it. The racing is pretty intense on elite mode(custom wheel settings) and ai on hard. I'll keep playing GT5 for the online, but offline this is one of the best "racing" experiences out there right now.

Welcome! Yes, it's a very fun racing game.

You'll likely enjoy it a lot more when AutoLog is back up. Be sure to add some friends that have S2U. If you didn't notice, there are sticky threads in this forum with IDs to add to your friends list. If you're competitive, it adds a lot to this game.

Oh yeah, something that you still cannot do in GT5 after 9 (?) patches and S2U comes with in it's "stock" form is saving the series in the middle of it. You can play 2-3 races, go do something else, play online and then come back to the same series and resume it like nothing happened. It seems like it's a pretty obvious concept, but apparently not everyone thinks that way :)

Wow I bought this game yesterday night and played it for a good 2 hours... after 15 minutes, I wanted to cry because I couldn't handle any car, but after 2 hours I wanted to keep on playing all night long but I had to go to sleep since I work in the morning :) I really like this game, and I don't know when (if) i'll ever go back to GT5!
The thing I like most so far is the very competitive AI...
