Loosely:

You won. Hope to race you again soon. Take care.

(But you might want to check with Biggles for a more precise translation) ;)

JJaisli, it was (as usual) nice to meet and race you last night. I think what we did was a perfect combo (5 minutes race as a "warm up" and, after that, a longer race as "piece de resistance").

Next time we meet we'll go for a 5 minutes wet race and then a 20 or 30 minutes dry race. ;)

It's always a pleasure to race you. And I really enjoy the longer races. 20 minutes at Spa is a good combination. Although, last night I just didn't have the consistency to really challenge you and I was kind of frustrated with myself. I didn't make any 'huge' mistakes. Just a LOT of small errors that kept costing me a second here or a second there. And over such a long race it slowly adds up.

I think when we're both driving well and pushing our limits, we can run very similar lap times. So in situations like this when I was performing rather poorly I need to turn it around quickly or I know you'll finish ahead of me. I don't race in the rain very much so maybe I just need more practice under those conditions. And at the same time, you're quite good at it. I realized by the 4th or 5th lap that I would have no chance to catch you unless you made a serious mistake (or got another penalty through Radillion) and you generally seemed to be quicker almost everywhere so I started to experiment with different lines and braking points to see where I could perhaps make up some time. And unfortunately I was just making things worse.

I was tempted to run another round when you offered but it was getting late for both of us. Another day another race. 👍

Well, I'm pretty sure last night you would have been. :( I didn't see you on-line though...

Jason, you're always welcome. About being too fast for me to handle, Let's do this the next time we meet: you pick three races, you choose the track, you choose the car, you choose the game. And I pick three races, I choose the track, I choose the car, I choose the game.

My pick:
Track - Suzuka;
Car - F430;
Game - GT5P

If we get a tie, we'll leave it at that :D

Well i think it would be a tie, plus i dont have GT5p currently & i know you are faster than me in GT5p, but not sure about FC

Track - Misano
Car - 360 GT
Game - FC

Nah ... the races must all happen in one night(EU) /morning (AUS) , if this isn't run this way it won't be fun.

I know you'll now dedicate your gaming time to Killzone2 so don't bother, none of us is going away, we'll have plenty of time to settle this in the future whenever it happens that you have both games with you again.

Just think that we met at Fuji with our GTR's almost one year ago. Time flies ;)

Its been that long allready, i only felt like 6 months ago. I do rember thoes races in GTR, thay were great.

Not all my gaming time wont be just playing killzone 2, i still look forward every day to have same great racing on FC

BTW, i will try to get GT5p today.

... If anybody would like some online racing with this car, I'm definately game.

...

we can arrange some "wannabe" Le Mans (the movie) races, you with that car, me with a red/white one, with "Erich Stahler" ( I think tht's the ferrari "ace" driver's name) written all over it.

Spa wet, maybe ... ;)

And so it happened, last night I saw this car LIVE on my TV and I must say it looks absolutely beatiful. 👍

I didn't write "Erich Stahler" in mine :D and I had a portuguese flag painted on the sides, but otherwise it was a red Ferrari.

We started at Spa (but dry) and after that we did a few more races (from memory but probably not in the right order, I think we did Monza, Mugello, Silverstone and Hockenheim). Races set to 10 minutes duration.

I had great fun, thanks. Nice to race and talk to you, Lofasz!

I didn't see your message. We can do when we meet online this weekend, it will be fun! 👍

PS - The Suzuka event is 5 laps (about 12 minutes), so I guess we should set the FC races to 10 minutes. We should be able to do this non-stop in litle over one hour.

What game we use first? I have no preference, so just tell what you would like to race first.

Three races in each car/track/game combo , as I proposed.

Ok, so we start with GT5P, we do three races and then we move on to FC 👍

Will we race with assists on FC? btw, in GT5P there's no tuning, the event doesn't allow it, so the cars will be absolutely identical.

Sorry I missed it. But I'm glad to hear the lobby was stable for you! 👍

No, i will not be using assists, all off

So, last night me and Energiya did this "GT5P/FC combo" challenge, here's my writeup about it.

We started with GT5P, using the PRO Event at Suzuka, with the F430 (no tuning allowed, N1 tyres :scared: ).

After two failed attempts (one host disconnect and one mismatch) we finally did our first race and I soon realized that, unless something unexpected happened, the GT5P races would be all wins for me, since Energiya was clearly off-pace.

So I won the three races with very substancial leads. 43 seconds in the first race (Energiya made it to the finish line just by the end of the countdown), but he was slightly better in the second and third races, finishing between 20 and 30 seconds behind).

This was expected of course, even if FC is the game I play the most, the truth is that I have been "keeping in touch" with GT5P, and Energiya I guess stopped playing it altogether for a long time.

So it was time to move on to do the 3 FC races, with the 360GT at Misano (10 minutes). My expectations were really low but I was quite relaxed about it. After all, I was going to battle the "Ladder Championship" current leader, and I was going to do it using his favourite car. And, since I had won all GT5P races, the worse that could happen was a tie between us.

I must say that, because I didn't want to be simply "crushed" at FC, I did a few practise laps with the 360GT yesterday morning (while waiting for E to show up and do the races, but when he finally did I had to leave and that was the reason why we did this challenge only last night). Those few practise laps proved valuable for me to "remember" this car's behaviour and most of all to refresh my memory about braking points.

So, Energiya opened up a private lobby, sent me an invite and as soon as I joined we started the first race.

I was in front from the start, took great car of turn 1 (tricky in Misano if you are in the lead when the race starts) and ... from that moment on I just did the perfect race, never lost the lead and won by about 5 seconds margin (Energiya made two mistakes in the race, at some point my lead got to nearly 7 seconds, but he recovered some time). I was very happy with this.

Second Race, Energiya starts at the front. This was, by far, the most intense race of them all, the gap between us was, for the entire race, usually around0,5 secs and never greater than 1,5 ... and I even had a shot at first place once (at the end of the long straight), but Energiya defended the inside of the corner and I couldn't get ahead.

Third Race, I started at the front again but this time I was careless with Turn 1, went off track and Energiya took the lead. In this race we both did a few mistakes, but in the end the race win was again his, by a margin of over 2 seconds.

I had great fun with it all, thanks Energiya for accepting this "strange" multi-game challenge, and if anyone else wants to do this kind of thing I'm always ready for it.

Radillion + FXX + full throttle + XassistsX + me = :scared::ill::yuck::dunce::embarrassed::lol: (X2)

Thanks for joining the lobby last night Hun200kmh & Lofasz. 👍 Ironic that it was the first time for all three of us racing that car on-line. It was a nice change of pace from 60s technology.

You're welcome, it was fun. :)

For me it was the first time I raced this car online and offline (in this 2nd G25 career of FC). And it surprised me, I never touched the car before because I just thought it would be boring (lots of power, lots of grip, brake power and overall great speed, like the 333).

But I gladly found last night that this car has lots of "character". And it's a tricky beast to handle.

I'm quite pleased with the "mixed" outcome:
- Got humiliated by both jj and Lofasz at Mugello :grumpy:
- Had a nice "back to front" race at Hockenheim :dopey:
- Got owned by jj at Montreal :ouch:
- Had a frantic wet race at Silverstone
- and two nice and consistent races at Virginia and Spa 👍 👍

Verdict: To my surprise, the FXX is actually fun to race!

Well, the first (2nd?) lap of Spa was brilliant. Just thinking back, we were side by side through 7--maybe 8 corners and I don't think we touched once. 👍

And remembering though Fanges, I was on the outside of you and I heard you shout, "Where are you?" And my clever response in the heat of the moment was, "Right here!". :dunce::lol: I wasn't trying to be obtuse--just concentrating to the point that the words, "on your right" didn't come out. :)

I have to say, in the end, I was a little disappointed that I wasn't able to put down one solid & complete lap of Spa though. Twice I had a major off through Radillion, once through Blanchimont and just a series of minor hiccups. But your 2:16 was pretty competitive. Well done. 👍 But either way, considering Lofasz has only been playing this game for a short time, we didn't exactly distinguish ourselves as experienced veterans. :embarrassed:

Although I haven't driven with assists for months, I think if we get back in that car, I'd like to try a few ticks of TC. I was struggling to put the power down in slower corners. But knowing you guys weren't running it, I wanted to keep the playing field even.

But yes, the car is more fun than I remembered it from TT.

Luckily, the "right here!" sentence has a common word with the "on your right!" sentence, so it all worked out ok in the end

What view are you using Mario? With the "bonnet" view (which I generally use) the "look-back" shows the car & immediate surroundings in a panoramic vista. Not very realistic, I know, but a reasonable compensation for lack of peripheral vision IMO.

Good to hear Lofasz is getting stuck into the online racing - we desperately need more N.A. racers.

I generally use the bonnet view also, only switch to inboard with the 512's and the 250's (can't miss their "inboard" sound), but at that point in the race I just couldn't take my eyes off the road, me and jjaisli were side-by-side since the end of the uphill long straight and almost for all the twisty section downhill I had him either on my right and on my left, taking the inside or the outside of the corners ... it was crazy and at some point I really didn't know where he was (and didn't want to hit him, of course) so I just ... asked!
