the single player career mode has been in the game since release, this is just adding some menus and awards for the people who need menus and awards to play custom races against AI.

I wasnt aware speedtest was available on PS4, what does your PS4 network speed say it is in the system network settings? If you have wifi setup then it may be using that instead of the wired connection.

So thanks PD, but no thanks. Come up with something fresh and interesting and I might be tempted to buy it.

They did come up with something fresh and interesting, and then a bunch of people hated it. So now they're giving everyone the same old single player content that they asked for. Every single race game on the market does a similar campaign mode so I don't know what sort of campaign mode innovation you were expecting from them.

I suspect tracks will be longer but any added will be in place for April 2018 before the Championships starts. The tracks need to be bullet proof exploit wise for use in Sport Mode. Also need integration into Circuit Experience and all Modes. Perhaps thats why there is only Beginner and Intermediate Driving School at present....note there is one real track per geographic region at present - was that to avoid any region having an advantage knowledge wise ?

What a surprise. Shame I'm busy with other games at the moment, though.

Now we just need Daiki Kasho to compose new music, and then this'll truly be GT7 for me.

For single player they didn't. They gave us the same stuff from GT1 onwards (license tests) and GT4 onwards (missions) and cut the other part (which they've now re-added) entirely.

I was expecting something more than a copy/paste of the same stuff as GT1-6. That's just lazy and to what someone else said, not it's not the same as GTA artwork always being similar. Is GTA V gameplay the same as GTA 1? No, they innovated in many ways. They didn't copy and paste.

There are many ways you can approach an offline career in a racing game. All games are not the exact same thing, they all have different ideas. Once again, to just copy/paste everything is lazy and I'm not interested. That is my opinion and I'm entitled to it, but I'm quickly seeing not much has changed around here....

Well this is fantastic news. Finally a reason to boot up the game again. This will probably make Sport mode enjoyable for me again as well. News about new cars is very welcome but I do wish they had more to say about new tracks as they would breath so much more new life into the game.

Well done to all the 'whiners & moaners', letting PD know how we felt all across the web obviously made them sit up and listen. Bring on the update!

On gt planet ...... some random kid buys GT SPORT plays once and isn’t bothered about the hype.

Living on GT Planet and moaning about game is a waste of oxygen

Two Skylines but no 3000Gt or Supra. Son of a Beep.

Imo i think they saw the massive hate and backlash online and Sony forced their ass to moved and appease the fanbase. Also how in the hell didn't that make it to the release. The damage they did to the brand yet all that was mere weeks away. wow.

I never saw a topic growing this fast. 10 pages now. :gtpflag:

Leading up to the release of GT5, I think around the time of Tokyo Game Show, I think, information was released, the General Discussion thread grew & grew, at the time the web site used to display member online at the bottom, the site ended up crashing a couple of times, if memory serves me.

Oh geez, I was just messing around in the game and notice the Update Preview thing. Read the Nov update and was like.. ahh yea.. Alright. Guess thats something. *scrolls down to Dec update*

Yesssssssssssssssss... The special event type races I love! I hope they add some way to do these online as well. Just like a button in the menu that puts you in a matched lobby based on that event. PLUS, R32, R34, FD, F40.. Excellent. High five PD.

So this means they are open to adding older cars and not just newer, 2010+ stuff, which was one of my biggest complaints. So psyched.

Now I just hope they add Gr4 versions of the 4 cars I mentioned above.

Hnnnnnng

Edit: It's amusing that people think the whining and reception has anything to do with this update. These things take months to make and setup. This is stuff that didn't make the cut in time for scheduled release, or stuff they planned to add anyway. They didn't just put this game out as is and expected to never update it.. Use your brain people.

What? No, they gave you a competitive online racing mode that is unlike anything else on the console market. They totally turned the whole thing on it's head. A bunch of people didn't like it and wanted the old career mode back despite it being tired and generic. So they gave it to them.

You keep talking about fresh innovation but not even you can specifically describe a way to innovate the tired campaign model that all racing games have milked to death. You wanted more offline content.. bam, you got it. Besides, the innovative mission design wouldn't be apparent in the UI anyways. The actual individual missions structures and the tone they set will be what makes or brakes the new campaign.
