GT Sport
Can you imagine a DLC GT history??? I mean...

1- GT 1 Pack of circuits : Trail Montain, Deep Forest, Autum Ring
2- GT 2 Pack of circuits: Seattle Circuit, Red Rock Valley, Laguna Seca
3- GT 3 pack of circuits: Grand Valley, SSR11, Tokyo R246
4- GT 4 pack of circuits: El Capitan, Apricot hill, Opera Paris

etc etc
I would think that cars and other items would be pay DLC, tracks might be released to the entire player base for free.

If they release some new tracks spread over separate pay DLCs, the matchmaking will be ****ed as the player base will splinter.

Didn't notice any notifications about maintenance. Maybe this is routine maintenance that's just prepping the game for the big update instead of actually being the update. I'm still betting on GT League dropping on Christmas.

What!! Is there maintenance going on just now??

No. But maintenance is apparently scheduled for sometime today (Tuesday).
Just turned Gran Turismo Sport on and i got this message as well, last time we had this message a update followed, so we might get a update and it might be the GT League, i will not get my hopes up too high, in case it is just a maintenance and i might set myself up for a disappointment :), but nothing wrong with dreaming about new content either :embarrassed: .

My assumption is that the maintenance is routine, but specifically in preparation for GT League. I'm predicting GT League will be out on Christmas.

I also wonder if we'll get Christmas gift cars like with the birthday cars.

Pretty sure this game doesn't run in 4K.

Prioritize Quality mode offers dynamic 4K resolution – checker boarded 1800p up scaled to 4K to be exact – and stable 60 fps. Prioritize frame rate mode offers native 1080p resolution in 60 FPS as well. I should also mention that 4K mode offers super-sampling for 1080p TV owners.
So what difference do these two modes make? Prioritize Quality mode seems to offer motion blur and runs replays in only 30 fps. Prioritize frame-rate lacks motion blur but offers 60 fps during replays.

So it's not true 4K but a checker boarded version of it!

Do they use pop-ups for the usual Wednesday routine maintenance?? I'm never actually on around that time!

Yes they do. It's always the same. Wednesday 4 AM to 7 AM. Every week. It doesn't mean anything else. If there is an update there would be a separate message indicating there's an update.

Yes - there is on gran turismo website one notification from October 30 saying maintenance is every Wednesday from 5:00 am to 7:00 am GMT.

PD added in a recent update the pop up to help ensure more people are aware.

Unless a specific note is added thst states there is an ingame update with it I think we should assume its just regular maintenance. Note too these times are a little flexible and various server functions come back in stages.

I think as posted before the GT League will come with pre notification publicity so December 23 as a 'significant date' might be feasible. Whilst being a Saturday the last update dropped on a Saturday so looks like PD have greater out of hours support now which is necessary given the FIA championships.

Still a risk though if a bug or two slips through testing which is always feasible in any software release.

Cool! Thanks for the info.

I just thought given the routine maintenance notice that has been there since day 1 it was maybe additional updates that used a pop-up.

Where do you go to change for the option "Prioritize Quality mode"?

I went into the Video Output for this game and all I can see at the bottom is:

2K Output Mode for Playstation4 Pro console

Prioritize Frame Rate

I am using a 4K tv with HDR. Trying to figure out if my settings are correct for using a 4K tv with HDR. Thanks!

You cannot change it when using 4K output. It only works if you change video output settings to 1080p in PS4 menu.

However, it only changes the way replays are rendered, not actual gameplay.

Yeah.. I have a massive issue with checkerboard being called 4K. It's just misleading the consumer.
I don’t because it’s still 4K if it’s 2160c(which this game is not). Checkerboarding should be used more often because it produces near native results (as seen in Horizon Zero Dawn) but allows for more power to be used for other graphical effects.

Go play the WipEout Collection, you can switch between native 2160p and checkerboard 2160p with motion blur and unless you have a capture card to analyze and zoom in on the footage you can’t tell a difference.
