Well it's Christmas, I just tested to see if the UDP data work during replays and guess what..... it does! now you can review and save the data too depending on the app/software used
I was referring to having telemetry data for the in-game replay (a la Gran Turismo).

But it is good news for 3rd party app. 👍

Thought I'd take the Clio out for a spin these last couple of days. Haven't driven it since launch time, retuned a bit and remembered what good fun it is, with the AI like annoying insects always buzzing round lol.

I am struggling to generate heat into the rears, even if I use minimum tyre pressures. Same goes for brakes. I know it's FWD but I'm barely in the green at some locations. Even my brake ducts are at zero. Was this the case pre-7.0? Anyone know what else I could try? The car doesn't allow for a lot of tuning.

Update 7.0 now out on the Microsoft Xbox One console...

Project CARS – Xbox One Patch 7.0 – Release Notes

Online
• Reworked the dynamic race-end timer feature. In public races, the timer is 75% of the slowest moving car's lap time. In private races and passworded public races, the timer is 150% of slowest moving car's lap time.
• Fixed an issue where sometimes session creation would fail after the console would lose and then regain connection to Xbox Live.

Physics & Tyres
• Neutralized the top speed advantage of running zero camber on many tires.
• Reduced flash layer temperature cap for GT3/LMP and other slick tires to make them less prone to overheating.
• Classic Lotus cars: Disabled patch-to-hub on several tyre carcass models as it was creating a strong low-speed FFB buzz.

Career
• Corrected the German name for the LMP3 UK Semi-Pro Championship.

Tracks
• Rouen Short – Reworked the AI paths around the hairpin area to try and keep the historic cars from running up the hill on exit when in tight packs.

Vehicles
• Repositioned the cockpit camera view to a proper center point for a number of vehicles that were reported to be incorrectly positioned.

Audio
• Lotus 40 and 49 - Rebalanced the AI vehicle volume.

General
• Fixed various game crash issues reported by customers.

UDP streaming support
overview
The UDP stream extension has been developed to allow 3rd party app developers the opportunity to receive telemetry data from the game. It is based mainly on the ‘Shared Memory API’ with a number of extensions to transmitted data.
The option is enabled via the ‘Game play’ menu ‘UDP mode’. This can be selected between off and 1-9. The number represents the UDP streaming data rate as follows:
UDP off
UDP 1 60/sec (16ms)
UDP 2 50/sec (20ms)
UDP 3 40/sec (25ms)
UDP 4 30/sec (32ms)
UDP 5 20/sec (50ms)
UDP 6 15/sec (66ms)
UDP 7 10/sec (100ms)
UDP 8 05/sec (200ms)
UDP 9 01/sec (1000ms)
The stream is sent to a broadcast address (255.255.255.255) on port 5606.

Now, my personal opinion of the 7.0 update is that the "new tyres physics" sucks... I really hope that in the 8.0 they will be like in the 6.0 (the only have to tweak a bit the temperature of the GT3 and LMP tyres)..

And a shame that they didn't fix the online box issue of Silverstone clasic...

All These things happen if you want to launch a update and DLC before Christmas.... Doing things fast, doesn't mean make them good...

The only good thing from the 7.0 update is the UDP application compatibility in the consoles.. Working really good.

Personally patch 7 is fantasitic, the RUF GT3 feels alive at the rear now, i use standard set ups so didnt mess about with set ups after patch 6 so all great here, had no issues with patch 6 buit 7 feels better for the car moving around and grip loss, using TX wheel BTW.

You think that's bad, try the Mclaren P1 lol.

I chose it for the 24 Hour Supercar race at Bathurst, and ended up quitting practice and choosing the Atom V8, because the P1 is so broken it's not funny.

At any tyre pressure, the tyres stay stone cold lap after lap. I selected the soft tyres for it, and they always act like they're flat, no matter the pressure, the car wanders around the track, has very little grip, and the wheel oscillates. It feels like it just doesn't want to go in a straight line, it's always wandering around like it's got a flat. It's difficult to explain, but even when you get some temp into the tyres, it still does it, and is slow as a wet week.

I put the mediums on, without changing anything else, and it fixed the weird flat tyre like behaviour. The car was much faster to drive on mediums, but the temp never got into the green, so it was a bit of a handful. I figured if it was like this in the middle of the day, it would be a nightmare during the night phase of the race, so I ditched it for the Atom V8.

The Atom was glorious. Beautiful to drive, easy to set up, and temps actually got into the green. Even so, the temps never got even close to the top end of green, so no chance of overheating the tyres.

The heating is ridiculous in 7.0. I did donuts in the P1 to see how hot I could get the tyres, and after 30 seconds of constant donuts, the back tyres were only 61 degrees lol. Dunno how much longer it'd take to get them hotter, as the engine blew at this point.

I always wonder what the devs were testing when they green light this kid of patch. Lots of us have immediately noticed it's very hard to heat some cars' tyres now, although TBF some seem ok. I was happy with the R8 LMP, for example. I guess they simply don't test every car and assume it'll be ok. I'm sure it'll get sorted in the next update, but they can't keep doing it, if they roll back to 6.0 some people will still be unhappy, myself included. Let's hope a nice balance is found and more importantly, thoroughly tested!

It happens on almost all the cars. One would assume that if they change something regarding the heating of the tyres (as mentioned specifically in the patch notes), they would take out a bunch of cars for a lap or 10 and see what the effect is.

Seems like they didn't.

Some cars can get into their prime temp range ok, but even those don't seem to overheat at all, so I think it is affecting all cars. I agree with you though that it does make one wonder who tests these patches. "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right", and "If you're going to do something, do it properly".

And mustn't forget "don't worry, we can patch the patches." lol

It is getting frustrating. Not to mention that these guys are not even saying anything over at the official pcars forum. People got questions and their not answering.

What's the most frustrating to me is that they won't use a "hot fix" program like GT6 for bugs, instead we have to wait an entire month (like we had to for the hot tire bug) for them to patch it. But hey, SMS's job at bug fixing is a hell of a lot better than Codies with the F1 game.

The reason PD can get hot fixes through so quickly is that they're part of Sony, so I'm guessing it's less hassle getting patches approved. SMS have to submit the patch to Sony, and afterwards it takes around a week or so for Sony to check it all and approve it. I honestly don't want SMS releasing more than one patch per month, because as it is they're struggling to test anything they're doing, so how much worse would it be if they were releasing multiple patches and fixes per month? lol.

Love that car. On many tracks it's a joy but for some reason since the latest patch, I just can't get enough of thrashing it around Road America .

To me the tyre temps in 7.0 are stranger than ever.......I did a race at Sakitto in the RUF road car the other day, and despite drifting around like crazy for 3 whole laps, the tyre temp gauge was still showing as green (whereas before it went to red very quickly pre 7.0) , although i could feel the loss of grip (as if they had overheated) on the rear tyres due to all the drifting. It's like the temp gauge on some cars is now broken, and doesn't actually work like before.

Therefore the patch didn't just fix the overheating tyres on GT3/LMP cars, it's also cocked up the tyres on the majority of the cars i've tried this week, a shame.

They tweeted today that they were on it and discussing it on the forum, so when the guy replied 'hmmm i didn't see any dev response' SMS replied they meant WMD1:

http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/sh...S-DISCUSSION&p=1194575&viewfull=1#post1194575

Conclusion; direct interaction is continuing in the background on the WMD1 forum so it's in good hands, even though the communication stop on the public forum is a bit questionable.

thats funny for 6 months the mods and WMD guys said nothing is going on at that site any more, i guess they lie as well as they fix bugs

Nah, there is still nothing on wmd1 (for me). To be honest, I'm not sure where that discussion is, might be in the "manager lounge".

There is no such discussion on WMD/pCARS 1 at all. The forums closed all technical discussion in July. Perhaps the tweet was referring to WMD/pCARS 2 (that wouldn't have much relevance for pCARS 1 though).

I haven't seen any discussion about this on the forum of pcars 2. That's strange, I really wonder to what that twitter post is referring to.

Seems very buggy after 7.0 more land mines, blue screen and so on. This game is so far off any serious online racing 👎

Love the dash apps tho :D but we should have a more solid running game/sim by now. I can't see we will ever get it now tho!!

EDIT: Run some GT3s yesterday and the tyres was heating ok really (not right tho). I did notice the tyres stayed mostly green yet when i looked at the temps my rears was 250-260 @ Watkinks.

On the dash app tyres would go in the red, yet on the tyre indicator in game would stay green.

In other classes they just don't heat up!

Like @c172fccc says haven't seen anything on WMD2 neither. There's a PCARS 1 thread but lately there was just FFB talk nothing about this tyre heating issue.

Yeah pCARS Dash isn't quite synced up on the tyres it seems but the rest is indeed awesome

Seems 'the discussion' is going on in WMD threads that are only visible for a selected few. Are those the manager threads you guys were talking about?

Any manager here? :D
